Integrated well with our hardware

Pros

I found it very simple to deploy and use. It integrated easily with our existing hardware.

Cons

In my experience, the way Optimoroute maps routes doesn't line up with Google Maps so the travel time estimates often end up different. I wish there were an option to avoid toll roads when planning routes. I also feel it would be better if the routing tool were built into the app itself. Some of the reports also look wrong to me and should be reviewed. Finally, when hardware is attached to a vehicle the driver can't log in or out so I can only track the truck as a unit rather than the individual behind the wheel.

Helpful set of features

Pros

Easy to use and it's been quite helpful because it includes most of the features my team and I need for our day-to-day work.

Cons

We're still waiting on a photo documentation feature and it's something I'd really like to see added soon so we can capture images directly within the app.

Solid support and features

Pros

Getting everything up and running was really simple for me and I've found the price to be far better than competitors. Whenever I've needed help the support has been solid and the app offers a really strong set of features.

Cons

That said, I think the Driver Mobile app still has room for improvement.

Can enter a lot of addresses

Pros

I'm impressed that I can input more than fifty addresses and have the system generate the route for our team.

Cons

My main frustration is how clumsy it feels to add an order manually. I have to type in the address first and then go back to fill in all the other details separately which is time-consuming . Also, I can't reassign individual stops between drivers. The tool only lets me swap entire routes instead of picking specific orders to move which limits flexibility during dispatch changes.

Has a lot of potential

Pros

I've found the program really user-friendly. The more I use it and get familiar with its features, the more I discover what it can do.

Cons

While it's more costly than other programs, I believe the time savings and increased efficiency more than justify that extra expense.

Pros

It has really been a cornerstone for us as it's driven growth across our operation while helping us keep expenses down. The software is simple to get up and running and most importantly it has been a huge help managing our last-mile deliveries.

Cons

In the driver's application we're missing essential proof-of-delivery features for packages, including the option to take a photograph and a way for the customer who receives it to provide a signature.

Pros

Really simple to change and assign drivers and I can copy setups from previous days. Overall it's an extremely easy program to use.

Cons

When I first started, getting the hang of it was somewhat challenging. I wish there were better online training resources available.

Love the tracking notifications

Pros

Impressed by the tracking notifications that go out to customers. They look very polished and professional. I also appreciate being able to pull addresses from our Shopify orders and view all of those locations together on the map.

Cons

We're a small outfit and for the delivery volume we currently handle (under 75 drops per week, using the app twice weekly), the pricing feels steep. Still because the platform gives us room to grow and scale operations, it makes sense for us to hang on to it.

Pros

Scheduling routes for deliveries feels really simple and theres nothing complicated about it.

Pros

I like that multiple drivers can access and manage stops while they're out on the road.

Cons

My main gripe is that the map can be unreliable. It has me service one side of a street and then loop back to cover the opposite side instead of handling both sides in a single pass.

Incredible real-time tracking

Pros

I've found customer notifications and real-time tracking to be wonderful. The saved addresses are super convenient and the routing is very accurate.

Cons

Although I appreciate that the app stores client addresses, I'd really like it to also retain complete contact details so notifications and tracking function more reliably for each customer. I've repeatedly run into issues when trying to transfer stops to different drivers while editing a route which has been frustrating.

Accurate route planning

Pros

It locates addresses extremely fast and handles them with great efficiency. Its route planning is consistently accurate.

Cons

When I first started using it, I found it quite difficult to get comfortable with. It's going to take a fair amount of time to learn it. The user interface feels cluttered so I often struggle to locate features on the screen.

I found the price and the range of features matched my needs perfectly.

To be honest, the user interface feels cluttered and many controls aren't user-friendly. A number of tasks could be handled much more smoothly. The worst part was getting a massive surprise bill for texting. I reached out to support for help, got a single response and then nothing, subsequent messages went unanswered. That bill was far larger than expected and ended up unresolved because no one followed up. My business is expanding rapidly so this gap in customer support has pushed me to actively look for other solutions that will respond when I need them.

Drivers enjoy using it

Pros

This does exactly what I needed it to do. I'm able to schedule 560 vegetable deliveries per week with just two drivers for the entirety of our season and the software runs reliably both in the office and out on the trucks. My drivers enjoy using it and I'm equally satisfied. OptimoRoute's customer service has been a pleasure to deal with. They actually listen and provide workable solutions that fit my specific situation.

Cons

I've noticed that when the system converts GPS waypoints or coordinates back into street addresses it can sometimes send my drivers a few houses away so there is a bit of information loss in that step. Still because we have repeat deliveries and the same drivers on those routes, the small inaccuracies generally sort themselves out over time.

Lets us split work between drivers

Pros

What I appreciate most is how precise it is. Customers keep telling me that our drivers arrive exactly at their ETA down to the minute. It saves our operation a ton of time and the route suggestions it gives are significantly better than anything I could set up by hand in a GPS. It's also flexible so we can assign one driver to 40 stops or split the work between two or more drivers.

Cons

The only change that would help my business is an extra choice when I add more deliveries into a route that's already been planned. I'd like an option that leaves current planned routes untouched and simply tacks the new orders onto the existing drivers' runs.
