weak support

Pros

I really like how easy billing is, from generating a quote right through to issuing the invoice.

Cons

My main problems are their weak technical support and the fully online system which leads to a lot of downtime when issues pop up. Scheduling takes much longer than it should and I also don't see any audit trail recorded.

Cluttered interface

Pros

The shade of blue used throughout the app is cool.

Cons

Whenever I open the app, it immediately drops me on the alerts page which is frustrating because I never use it and end up switching to the web version every time, total waste of my time. There are way too many options crammed into the interface and the buttons are really small. Don't get me wrong, having features is good but I only use a handful and keep accidentally tapping the wrong tiny buttons which just wastes even more time.

Smooth performance

Pros

I've relied on it for about two and a half years at this point and the progression from creating quotes to managing work orders, then handling purchasing and finally invoicing feels smooth. I really appreciate having the copy feature to speed things up.

Cons

There are a few types of reports that would be really helpful for our team but aren't available yet. We also attempted to import our inventory from an Excel file and ServiceBox wouldn't accept that format.

Has all the important features

Pros

I think it covers the majority of what an individual employee needs to get their job done.

Cons

Honestly the app feels pretty useless to me because almost nothing can be done inside it without first opening the website in a browser. I also wish there was a way to collapse work orders whenever I switch between the tabs in the top-left corner which would make it much cleaner. Additionally, it would help a lot if I could enter information while offline and have those changes automatically sync once I reconnect, instead of losing the ability to input data until I'm online.

Unable to run hour reports

Pros

At first this looked like the ideal solution. Once we started implementing it, things began to fall apart for example, an employee getting a phone call during checkout erased their data. Trying to pull a simple hours report for an entire customer turned out to be impossible. One of their team members yelling at me was awful when I thought I had lost an entire customer. They behave as if we have unlimited time to get everything set up. What we really needed was thorough attention to our specific business requirements and so far I feel deeply let down by this product. I'm attempting to reach out to someone to figure out whether this attitude comes from the top or if I just had a particularly bad experience. It's not all terrible but crossing the finish line only to be treated like shit by their team doesn't work for our organization.

Hard to get help

Pros

Nothing special to mention here.

Cons

When I submit a ticket, it takes far too long to receive assistance and there's no real-time support available to resolve issues which can seriously disrupt my access to the system. The Help menu they provide often doesn't connect to or address the specific problems I report.

Ability to set up recurring WOs

Pros

It is user-friendly and helps me handle every part of my daily operations. I really appreciate being able to set up recurring work orders, plan and assign jobs, generate invoices and do so many other tasks from a single system.

Cons

The sales tax feature could use some work. I'd like ServiceBox to sync with QuickBooks so it can import sales tax rates directly from QB and automatically update them.

I've found the product really easy to use and I like that they are always updating and improving things for users.

Cons

A number of files I attempt to upload fail to attach. They should raise the maximum allowed attachment size so I can include larger files.

All information at one spot

Pros

Very convenient and we keep all of our information in one place. Scheduling, work orders and timesheets are all managed there. Tracking the use of materials, invoicing and creating quotes is simple. I can find any customer's information quickly and easily.

Cons

Connecting to QuickBooks Online proved to be a challenge for me and I'm having trouble syncing payments with QuickBooks.

Simple to manage work orders

Pros

I love how simple it is to set up and manage work orders. Creating them and keeping track of progress is so easy. The job-costing tool is effective and it has saved us countless hours. I also rely on the built-in time tracker which works great. When payroll rolls around, all the necessary info is already organized. There are tons of useful features and the support team consistently helps resolve any issues we face.

Cons

The only real drawback for me is how the materials library is handled inside the app. I can't simply view the entire list within the program itself. Instead we have to export the inventory to Excel to see the full library, tidy up or remove any items we don't want and then import the cleaned file back into ServiceBox. That roundabout process feels clunky and time-consuming.

Worth the investment

Pros

Well integrated system

Pros

I really appreciate having every administrative task I handle centralized in a single place, where the tools link together smoothly and keep things flowing without extra effort.

Cons

Automates everything

Pros

When I needed a very simplified yet powerful work order management system to fully automate everything, from creating quotations to handling repeatable work orders and routine maintenance, this one really delivered. It consolidates everything in one place so I don't have to jump between multiple sources for information and I like being able to customize categories, cases and timetables to match how we work.

Cons

I've found the search feature to be unreliable because of the way keywords are sorted which makes finding what I need frustrating and slows me down when I'm trying to get quick results.

Convenient for creating invoice estimates

Pros

Creating invoice estimates and work orders is pretty simple with this software.

Cons

One thing I'd like is a confirmation that a customer has opened an invoice. I'm not sure how that would be handled but QuickBooks has that capability.

Pros

What I really appreciate is how simple editing is, plus the dedicated areas for adding notes and descriptions.

Cons

At first I found it a little confusing to get oriented and I'm not sure I can suggest any ways to make it more organized. If someone wants access to every single feature, the interface gets a bit complex.

Helpful integration with SAGE

Pros

I'm glad that the tool can be integrated into SAGE software.

Cons

Had no idea that updating SAGE without notifying ServiceBox was not allowed. As a result I have been unable to raise invoices to clients for a week.
