Slow and unresponsive

Pros

I enjoy being able to customize categories and statuses. The timesheets feature is really useful for tracking.

Cons

I've been hearing constant complaints about how slow and unresponsive it is and ultimately I find myself doing extra work because of those problems. The search function isn't dependable since it handles keyword sorting poorly and the scheduler isn't friendly for users on phones, it's too small, cramped and cluttered to use comfortably.

Pros

I'm impressed with how the scheduler calendar is set up and it even gives me an option to email my boss directly.

Cons

It would be great if I could search for customers by phone number or other contact details instead of being limited to searching only by last name.

Timesaving solution

Pros

I like how we can schedule jobs and have notifications sent to specific users. It saves time for me since everything I need is stored in one place, making it quick to find all the relevant data.

Cons

Personally, I've noticed there aren't many customization options. I can't change the layout of invoices or work orders and it also doesn't display time in hours and minutes which can be annoying when I need precise timing.

Pros

Pros

Cons

Lets me see where everyone is

Pros

Being able to clock time in and out, I can set up schedules, see where everyone is, make notes on jobs and it helps keep everyone organized.

Cons

Uploading pictures is annoying because I can only add them one at a time. It would be great if the app let me pick and upload multiple images in a single step. Entering materials feels like a chore and it's very tedious to type everything in. I'd love a built-in spreadsheet-style option where a crew member could tick checkboxes or enter quantities against a pre-made, categorized materials list to speed things up. Also for safety paperwork I want an easy way to include daily safety forms directly with the work order or attached to the timesheet.

Allows me to run my company through one app

Pros

It is very powerful and enables me to manage our whole company through one centralized application. It also provides our service team with ready access to the exact information they need while they're working out in the field.

Cons

It doesn't prompt me to save and I think adding that would be a very valuable feature for users who aren't particularly familiar with this style of software and might otherwise lose changes unintentionally.

Packed with features

Pros

Really user-friendly for both our office staff and the technicians out in the field. It packs a lot of useful tools like customizable reports, the option to attach photos and syncing with our accounting systems. My techs picked it up quickly and it has cut down the time we spend on dispatching and invoicing.

Cons

Searching for older invoices or past work orders can be hit or miss which frustrates me when I'm trying to pull up records quickly. Also, if a work order is left without tapping the save button it gets erased and I have to recreate everything from scratch. A reminder to save before exiting would be really helpful for techs in the field.

Top-notch customer service

Pros

I'm really impressed with the A++ customer support and I find it simple to log my hours using the check-in and check-out feature, plus attaching photos to work orders is simple and quick.

Cons

Occasionally the app requires a restart before photos will upload. I also experience lag and the app crashes now and then which interrupts my workflow.

Pros

We found the accessibility to be excellent. Lets us pull up our work orders from anywhere which is really convenient.

Cons

Pros

It's really simple to use and I can handle every task right from my smartphone, plus I appreciate how well it integrates with other software platforms.

Cons

Expecting enhanced efficiency

Pros

By switching to this system, I'm expecting major efficiency gains because it combines quoting, job assignment and invoicing into a single workflow instead of the old manual paper-based process.

Cons

I've tried calling technical support a few times because I want to speak with a real person but every attempt failed and I couldn't reach anyone live on the line.

Pros

From my experience, the team is very quick to answer questions or make requested changes. The software itself is simple and easy to use.

Cons

Would like more granular control over each user's access to the various functions so permissions can be customized in greater detail. It would also be far more convenient if changes were saved automatically instead of forcing me to click the green check mark every time I make an update.

Knows Canadian tax rules

Pros

I'm really pleased it's developed in Saskatchewan, Canada and that local origin matters to me. It integrates with Canadian tax rules and when I run into an issue the support team actually understands the Canadian context which is almost nonexistent with many U.S.-built products. We can keep track of every piece of equipment across different sites and link notes, photos and all the specific details that relate to each individual item which makes managing our assets much easier.

Cons

Our custom check sheets aren't as user-friendly as we'd hoped and I sometimes suspect that it's more about how we're using the software than a flaw in the product itself. I wish the equipment maintenance scheduling were a bit more powerful. In particular, I would love to have manufacturer-specific check sheets integrated into the maintenance schedules so that the same piece of equipment gets different checks at different times of the year automatically. It would also be helpful to attach more than one photo for equipment identification, that could be overkill but there are times when multiple images from different angles would prevent confusion. The "to-dos" feature needs better timeline tracking. I want a date and timestamp on every entry and on each reply. Right now, when I send a to-do and someone replies, the system only shows the original creation date, not the reply dates and I would really like each reply to be tracked with who responded and when. Another useful option would be the ability to send the same to-do to multiple people. It doesn't come up often but having that flexibility would be handy in those occasional situations. Ultimately I want to use the software to its full potential and some of these limitations feel like they could be resolved by better configuration or feature additions. That said some of the shortcomings are probably down to me not leveraging all of ServiceBox's capabilities rather than fundamental product failures.

Easy to pull up notes and add pics

Pros

I like that I can pull up past job notes, attach photos from the jobsite to review later and keep everything neatly organized.

Cons

When I'm in spots with poor or no cell reception I can't use the app and I often find that entering information can sometimes take longer than just jotting notes with pen and paper.

QuickBooks integration made me choose it

Pros

The primary draw for me was its integration with QuickBooks. Now I no longer need to separately schedule jobs and invoice, since everything is managed through a single platform.

Cons

Occasionally I notice the system slows or lags which can be frustrating at times but in my experience it doesn't occur very often.

Ability to view customer history

Pros

Having access to the customer's history is hugely helpful. It lets me review what's already been done so I don't show up to a job unprepared.

Cons

I would appreciate a gentler flow when moving between fields and it would be far more convenient if I didn't have to leave the current page and go back through the main Menu to reach the scheduler.
