The only downside I've experienced is that my online booking form stopped working correctly and the problem still hasn't been fixed. As far as I know it was escalated to the tech review team weeks ago but nothing has changed.

“Improved team communication”
Pros
Our team has seen a dramatic reduction in lockouts and last-minute cancellations since we started using ZenMaid. Communication among staff has noticeably improved and it makes our company look much more professional and organized. I'm really impressed by how much I can customize client/contact records and staff notes to fit our exact needs. That level of customization is precisely why we went searching for a management system in the first place and it has delivered exactly what we were hoping for. I wholeheartedly give these features five stars!
Cons
Because we pay employees for travel time between jobs, reimburse mileage and allow unpaid breaks during longer shifts, the timekeeping and payroll functions in ZenMaid are essentially useless for us. If your business only pays time spent on-site and doesn't permit breaks, you probably won't run into problems with the software (though that approach can hurt staff retention). We also avoid using ZenMaid for billing as software built specifically for invoicing gives us better features and our third-party payment processor gets us lower card processing fees. For those reasons, it isn't the all-in-one solution it claims to be for our operations. On top of that, scheduling is nearly unusable on my Android phone. Trying to book or adjust appointments away from my desktop feels like a roll of the dice because the calendar often won't cooperate. Both the app and the mobile website are sluggish and the absolute worst issue is the lack of any autosave. I've spent an hour building an estimate and taking tons of notes, only to risk losing everything if my connection drops or if I forget to hit the save button.

“Cost-effective software”
Pros
Its very budget-friendly. I also love that everything I need to run my cleaning business lives in a single place. The interface is clean and simple so I find it simple to move around. There are loads of genuinely helpful tools like color coding, "on my way" texts, client payment tracking, a dashboard and more. Plus, their team is caring and always replies to my questions and concerns promptly.
Cons
The thing I like least is definitely the name. We're professional cleaners, not maids so the 'Maid' part feels off to me. I would much prefer it simply be called Zen. I'm also not a fan of the task feature, it doesn't seem particularly useful and feels more like a basic reminder than a true task management tool. It would be far better if there was an obvious tasks icon on the left side that opened a proper 'To-Do' list. As an owner, I often have to switch to a browser to make last-minute schedule changes or reassign workers which is frustrating. It would be ideal if there were a dedicated phone-friendly way to do those quick edits right from my mobile, without jumping through hoops.

Running this business used to be overwhelming but ZenMaid has honestly made it easy. It has also stopped me from pulling endless all-nighters trying to keep up.
Cons

I'm able to pull up the calendar in several different views and tweak it myself. Adding various work items and assigning teams as needed.
Cons
We can't view bookings beyond six months and that limitation really doesn't suit our business model at all.

“Doesn�t take much time to get used to”
Pros
Learning it didn't take me long at all and getting everything set up was simple so it ends up saving me a huge amount of time compared with the manual processes my team used before.
Cons
There are times when it's a bit slow especially while I'm adding new teams or making schedule changes but whenever I've reported issues the support team has always been extremely responsive and quick to resolve what I flag.

Pros
I'm constantly amazed by the nonstop support I receive from the whole community. Because of them I don't feel so alone or overwhelmed by all the little 'things' I used to have to remember as a business owner. I just put them into ZenMaid and can delegate, schedule organize and work out my workload alongside my team.
Cons
My experience has been that the mobile apps are slow which wastes my time and ends up costing my team money.

As someone who runs a cleaning business, I'm finding the interface very well-organized. It's clearly designed for housekeeping companies and includes most of the features we need for our day-to-day operations.
Cons

Honestly, this program is simple to use and really flexible. Since I began using it so many capabilities have been added that it genuinely feels like the system has grown alongside my business. Back when I tracked everything with pen and paper I used to get locked out of houses constantly because clients forgot I was scheduled. My cleaning techs would arrive and not know where to go or what tasks to perform and we kept misplacing checks. The whole operation felt chaotic. Nowadays clients always know when we're coming thanks to reminders and the On the Way messages. The app includes a built-in map for employees and it's simple for them to access notes, garage codes and even pet names. I can also bill each client's credit card for every cleaning directly through the platform which means my cleaning techs never have to stress about whether the company got paid. Overall it has taken so much of the logistical headache off my plate and made daily operations far smoother.
Cons
That's a hard criticism to come up with. Honestly, every time I've suggested an improvement the team has turned it around quickly, often implementing changes in a short timeframe. I really appreciate how responsive they are to business owners' needs and it makes sense because a lot of their staff are cleaning business owners themselves. They understand our challenges firsthand and act on feedback.

I've found the online booking system offers excellent customization options. The employee app makes scheduling incredibly easy and fast. Altogether, the platform helps my company appear far more professional to clients because of online booking, automated texts and emails and integrated invoicing.

Pros
The layout is pleasant and well thought out. When we run into problems, reaching someone at the company is simple and they consistently provide helpful support. Using the software has prompted us to reevaluate systems we had in place before adopting it, revealing alternative approaches that help us work more efficiently. I really enjoy the ideas and feedback area within the app because I can read others' suggestions and the Facebook community is great for connecting with other businesses around the globe. We have genuinely liked meeting other companies through that group.
Cons
I'm not entirely sure if my expectations are colored by the custom online booking system we had with our previous software since I keep comparing the two but I wish this platform offered more flexibility in how we set up charges and allowed additional customizable forms for the different services we provide. We've had to reinsert a step into our workflow to verify booking details, whereas ideally it would be a one-and-done experience for clients. Previously we reserved specific slots on our calendar for online bookings so potential customers could immediately see openings and book themselves which was effortless and brought in money without us lifting a finger. I miss that level of hands-off convenience.

I'm a fan of the color palette and overall design and I find it fairly easy to use, plus it offers a decent range of customization options.
Cons
I really wish the platform were more feature-rich. It bothers me that there's no option to pick up the phone and speak to tech support. Having to send messages and then wait hours for a reply is frustrating and too often the answer is that the feature I need simply doesn't exist. The app desperately needs more templates and a built-in way to attach documents without relying on external services. Payroll functionality is incomplete and needs to be fully implemented. Onboarding was weak, when you buy software like this there should be someone who calls and walks you through every section and the full capabilities of ZenMaid so you can hit the ground running. I recently bought Service Autopilot and am migrating my files because I need the additional functionality I mentioned above. I really don't want to leave ZenMaid but given these limitations my hand is forced.
