Pros

I find ApplicantStack amazing. As a daily user, I appreciate its usefulness in tracking applicants.

Cons

As far as I can tell, there are no more cons, but some updates would be appreciated.

Very adaptable and easy to use.

Pros

I think every recruiter out there should at least give AS a try. It is extremely simple to use and is the greatest ATS I have ever used, hands down. The software was a bit different than what I used before, but thankfully, their support team was more than happy to train us where needed and even helped us complete some of our projects. The team is busy adding new features and improving the old ones without even asking. I found the software to be very flexible, and it adapted almost 100% to our workflow.

Cons

We dont use the onboarding module, but from what I have observed, the module isnt properly developed yet. Since they are so good at the recruitment part and keep improving it, Im sure they will improve the onboarding process as well. And there are some minor bugs that I have observed that might break the experience for some. For example, it doesnt really tag any duplicates, and sometimes the search tab stops working. Nothing too serious. I would still recommend it to anyone in recruitment and employee engagement.

I have used this software for quite a while now and I can say that it is the best online tracking and onboarding solution designed for small businesses.

Cons

Pros

I appreciate that it automatically scores candidates and sends out notifications to keep everyone updated during the hiring process.

Cons

Copying a job description from Word is a nightmare. The formatting gets so messed up and it takes forever to fix. So annoying.

Fantastic deal and easy to use

Pros

applicantstack is super user-friendly and doesn't cost a fortune. I love that they do monthly contracts instead of making you sign a long-term deal. Getting started was easy, I was up and running in no time. The feedback tab is absolutely brilliant for writing interview notes and staying organized. I've used tons of other ATs platforms over the years (like ADP, Paylocity, Paycom) and this one is way better. I honestly can't imagine doing my HR job without it now! You can customize so much to make it fit your needs. Even the onboarding part was better than I expected.

Cons

These are all just small things but I wish they had a real certification program to help you master the system. Support is okay but they can get a little defensive if you have a problem and just tell you to "watch a video." Onboarding was fine but not amazing. The Indeed integration works but that's about it.

Quick posting, search is weak

Pros

Pretty great how simple it is to post job openings and the postings go live for candidates really quickly.

Cons

The search is very limited. I can only search resumes for keywords, not the whole application. Also it's a bummer that applicants can't update their old applications and have to start over every time.

Tricky to configure and privacy concerns

Pros

The platform has a lot of different layers that let me customize how we handle candidates.

Cons

setting up workflows is clunky. There's no guide and you have to already know where everything is hidden in the system. Nothing connects automatically. It's difficult to use. Another thing is that you can't delete a workflow if candidates are in it but there's no way to see who's in it to move them! The privacy thing is also wild to me. Once you hire someone and make them a manager, they can see their own interview notes and ratings. We hired an HR manager who can now read all the feedback from her own interview. That just feels wrong and could really cause drama.

clean interface but problematic job editor

Pros

Interface just feels really clean and flexible, you know? Tracking candidates is simple because the layout is so organized. It's genuinely user-friendly and just works well for our whole team.

Cons

The job posting editor is our biggest headache. Pasting from any other document creates a formatting disaster even with the "paste special" options. I just want basic tools for font and spacing! I usually end up retyping everything. Also we need clearer instructions on linking our Indeed and LinkedIn accounts. We always have to contact support to figure it out. One more thing is that we keep losing data in our interview questionnaires. An auto-save feature would be a lifesaver!

amazingg tracking, limited features

Pros

I appreciate how the History profile puts everything into a single location and it makes tracking everything so much easier I can't even explain it.

Cons

I could create different application types like one for interns and one for full-time hires. It's frustrating that I can't tell them apart in the system.

smart system but poor resume reading

Pros

The applicant management system is seriously so user-friendly!! We've found that new recruiters pick it up super quickly without needing much training at all which is a huge plus for us.

Cons

The resume import from other sites is so frustrating. It constantly messes up and misses big sections of info.

Transformed our recruitment process

Pros

Okay, this tool has been a complete game-changer for us honestly. We were literally drowning in applications before and really struggling with our onboarding workflow. This thing eliminated every single bottleneck we had and totally exceeded our expectations. Plus it's very affordable compared to so many other solutions out there!

Cons

My only "complaint" is that our old system was so terrible that this one almost feels too good to be true. They update it all the time which is great but sometimes it feels like I'm learning a new platform every few months. But hey I'm not really complaining and the new features are always worth it!

easy to use but needs more features

Pros

Interface is very handy which honestly makes onboarding new team members smooth. Our training sessions go so smoothly now because everything just feels natural to navigate.

Cons

You know what I love most about this platform? It's definitely how user-friendly it is. They really nailed that part.

Cons

I can't think of any major downsides. The only small thing is the reporting feature. I wish there were simple tutorials or it was a one-click thing that was easier to find.

helpful but reporting is confusing

Pros

I find the interface very useful andsimple to get around. Having multiple managers able to log in at the same time is convenient for us and we all get those instant email notifications the second someone submits an application. The texting feature is a nice bonus that helps us stay connected with candidates quickly which we love.

Cons

The reporting feature is confusing and I'm not totally comfortable with it yet. I'll be honest, I haven't spent a ton of time figuring it out but some built-in tips or tutorials would really help me understand how it all works.

great for team work

Pros

Having multiple team members able to review candidates at the same time is a game-changer and it really organizes our whole hiring process. The workflow progression keeps everything moving smoothly to the next stage which I appreciate. Oh and it integrates with the various payroll systems we already use which is awesome. The quick thumbs up/down rating feature is also really handy for doing fast candidate evaluations.

Cons

Candidate reporting features need some improvement. I really wish I could just download the data straight into Excel to make it easier to look at.

organized candidate managing with occasional texting glitches

Pros

The way it lets me organize candidates by different stages has been a huge, huge help. It's made our hiring process so much more manageable because I can actually keep track of where everyone is in the pipeline.

Cons

sometimes my texts won't send unless I switch to an incognito window which is annoying.

Pros

I can access literally everything I need from a single screen which saves me tons of time I used to waste jumping between different sections. It's such a simple thing but it makes a big difference.

Cons

I wish I could just select a bunch of candidates and disqualify them all at once. Right now I have to do it one by one which takes forever. The bulk feature is way too limited.
