easy to start, overwhelming to master

Pros

I can customize almost everything about our recruiting from job statuses to notifications and how we screen people. Getting started was really easy and our team learned how to use it really quickly without a ton of training.

Cons

There're so many customization options that it can feel overwhelming. I worry I'm not using the software to its full potential because of it.

User friendly and efficient platform

Pros

The interface is so friendly I log in every day and all the applicants from different websites are just waiting for me. Everything processes very fast which makes the whole experience feel effortless.

Cons

surprisingly quick and good upgrade

Pros

I was surprised how quickly I got the hang of it compared to our old paper files. Having everything digital makes tracking way easier and now our whole team is finally following the same process.

Cons

I wish disciplinary forms were easier to get to. It's a hassle having to request them every single time.

Very handy with a smooth interface

Pros

Very handy software. Having all the forms and applicant info in one central place is super convenient. The tracking features make everything so much easier to handle.

Cons

Nothing really bothers me about it. The interface is smooth and it works well for finding candidates.

automatic posting without the backend work

Pros

It automatically posts our jobs to a bunch of other job boards without me needing paid memberships for them. I don't have to do any backend work and the postings just go out automatically.

Cons

The notes section showed when the last note was added. It would make it so much easier to track my most recent conversations with candidates.

Pros

I can easily organize all my jobs and track where each candidate is in the hiring process. It's a huge help to know exactly what's going on with everyone and what I need to do next.

Cons

easy to use with amazing support

Pros

I've always found this platform really easy to use. Whenever I have a question or need some extra training, Jeff Crouse gets back to me right away. What I really love is how we can customize appstack to fit our exact needs.

Cons

only downside is that sometimes updates add new features I didn't even know I needed. It can be a little overwhelming to get used to them at first.

a simple list with salary quirks

Pros

The candidate list is really simple to look through. I can see both people's names and which job they applied for which is a lifesaver when I am managing alot of openings at once.

Cons

The salary requirement field could be better. I wish it didn't let people put "negotiable" and made everyone use the same format. It would also be great if it automatically converted hourly rates to yearly salaries so everything is consistent.

User friendly with mobile limitations

Pros

It is easy to get around. I love that I can update a candidate's stage and automatically send them the right info when I do.

Cons

I can't edit those automatic messages that go out when a candidate's stage changes which is frustrating. There's no mobile app and the browser version is slow on my phone. A little sMs functionality would be a nice bonus too.

Pros

Navigation is really simple and I like how simple it is to update an employee's stage without any issue.

Cons

sometimes the loading is pretty slow which gets frustrating when you're just trying to get your work done efficiently.

smooth and simple for the whole team

Pros

The simplicity is what really stands out to me. Both our HR team and hiring managers can see all the applications easily, which makes working together so much better. Creating a new job posting is incredibly smooth and it's a huge upgrade from how we used to do it.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is having to email for support. It would be so much easier if we could just call and talk to someone when we have a question or need a change made.

Pros

My favorite thing about this is how everything just makes sense. It's simple and gets the job done without any fuss.

Cons

My biggest wishlist item is a simple benefits checklist for job posts. I'm so tired of typing out 'health insurance, 401k, PTO' every single time. Just let me tick some boxes! It'd be way easier for me and applicants would see the perks faster.

Best for sorting, a nightmare for searching

Pros

It is so easy to sort applicants into different groups and find someone who applied weeks ago in just a few clicks. A total lifesaver when you're trying to remember a past candidate.

Cons

The search drives me crazy! I had a candidate's number right there but couldn't plug it in to find their profile. And don't even get me started on the list resetting every time I click back from a profile and I lose my place constantly.

Pros

Having job posts and hiring all in one platform is a game-changer. I don't have to juggle different tabs or programs anymore.

Cons

Perfect for small companies, not global ones

Pros

as a smaller company this is perfect for us. It handles all our hiring needs without being this giant complicated system that's too much for our team.

Cons

It just doesn't scale well for our global hiring. It feels clunky and one-size-fits-all when we need flexibility. The biggest shock was the complete lack of a CRM, that's a deal-breaker for us long-term.

an unreal price for a total win

Pros

The price is unreal for what you get. We get all the same features as the expensive guys but for a fraction of the cost. It's the perfect size for us, my whole team loves it and it's so easy to use. A total win.

Cons

Handy features, missing info from job sites

Pros

I can review resumes, print them and email candidates all from the same screen. And being able to see all our past emails with a candidate right there is so handy.

Cons

when applications come from sites like Indeed, info goes missing. I've lost phone numbers and addresses in the transfer. Makes onboarding a headache.

Pros

It just makes teamwork on hiring so much faster. Everyone is on the same page without a million emails back and forth.

Cons

I love having all the resumes in one spot, that's a huge plus. But the actual process of downloading them can be weirdly confusing sometimes. Not a deal-breaker, just a quirk.

smooth emails with feature requests

Pros

sending emails to candidates is really smooth and I love that I can see all our open roles at a glance. The filters are super helpful and having all the messages in one place keeps me from losing my mind.

Cons

My top three requests: Let me create custom email stages like 'Do Not Pursue.' Please give me alerts for candidates stuck in a stage for 2+ weeks, they fall through the cracks! and can we please block people with 80+ applications? It's spam at that point.
