Functional overall

Pros

My team finds the system useful for entering payroll time, keeping track of employees, processing applications and generating reports.

Cons

There's limited ability to customize reports and occasionally I notice processing is slowed down because work is handled remotely.

powerful search and reporting

Pros

I appreciate how powerful the search features are and I rely on them all the time. Being able to run searches that locate people assigned to different staffing representatives by selecting specific statuses makes finding relevant records simple. It really helps me pull up all of my applicants or narrow down to particular groups so I can keep an eye on our applicants' progress. The reporting tools are also incredibly handy, I can put together a report quickly that matches what I need and the layout is very self-explanatory. Another advantage is the flexibility to move columns around in searches, shifting fields like status, Employee ID, or last contact date lets me focus on the information I need and filter out what I don't. I also appreciate that everything exports cleanly to Excel without fuss. For comfort, I change the system color and prefer the darker theme because it is easier on my eyes.

Cons

Too often the system freezes and that becomes really frustrating for me since interruptions happen frequently and slow down my work more than I'd expect.

High functionality with rough edges

Pros

What I really appreciate about this software is that it handles my background checks, monitors a team's applicant load and status and reliably stores data while also serving as a platform our payroll and sales teams can use with clients. Once you're familiar with the program's quirks I now find that I can work very efficiently.

Cons

Access to certain features in this software could be easier. I suspect our organization is still using an older version and because of that the connections to office tools like Outlook or our I-9 system feel underdeveloped. Even the built-in functions intended to bridge those gaps don't always deliver a smooth experience. Thankfully, after spending time working with the system I have learned to live with these quirks since the platform's overall consistency makes it possible to discover reliable workarounds that lessen the impact of the issues mentioned above.

Great applicant counters

Pros

I mainly use Avionte exclusively for onboarding and not for managing employees while they're on assignment. One of the biggest perks I've noticed is the ability to view incomplete applications, that feature is HUGE and something my previous software simply didn't offer. Because of it, I can reach back out to applicants who started an application and then abandoned it for whatever reason. The customization options are something I really like, you can add and edit things like 'Action Types,' 'certifications,' statuses, branches and more to fit our workflow. The counter feature has been particularly useful since it helps me zero in on where our bottlenecks exist. Exporting data into Excel is simple and once you learn basic pivot tables or run a few macros sorting through data becomes impressively fast. There's a great deal of flexibility around where columns live and how shortcuts are set up, plus several color schemes to choose from. From what I can tell, they work with a variety of vendors that integrate cleanly into the tool and I'm hopeful they'll add a few more integrations down the road.

Cons

Customer support has been frustratingly slow to respond and we honestly spent several weeks going back and forth trying to resolve a system issue on more than one occasion. It's also important to understand that reports they build for you are essentially "fixed in time." For example, if I build a report to track statuses and later add a new status, that report won't pull the new status unless I contact Avionte to have it updated. That caught me off guard even though it's not a huge problem. Another limitation I've run into is the lack of a built-in reporting feature to calculate 'time to hire,' which would be useful for our metrics. Overall these issues were manageable but did create extra work and unexpected delays.

Would avoid it if possible

Pros

For my CRM requirements it's fairly helpful. It lets me consistently maintain detailed notes on every active client and prospective client records.

Cons

I've found Avionte to be frequently slow and somewhat stagnant in performance. Navigating the system is often quite challenging because it isn't particularly user-friendly or simple. For those reasons I would probably avoid using it again unless it truly was my only available option.

a bit complex in the beginning

Pros

My candidates are all stored in one central place which makes it pretty easy for me to look them up and get in touch. It also takes care of a lot of staffing tasks for me from recruiting through payroll, billing and other functions. I find it really versatile and wide-ranging.

Cons

Getting the advanced search settings right can be a bit of a struggle it wasn't immediately obvious how everything worked. I had to spend time and go through training before I felt comfortable using it and in my opinion the search configuration could definitely feel more simple.

Payroll made simple

Pros

I appreciate how it's helped our team simplify payroll, handle tax payments and support recruitment.... virtually everything needed for payroll is accessible instantly with just a single click of a button.

Cons

Personally I find what frustrates me most about the software is the lack of guided training, you really need to be proactive, dig through the interface and ask the right questions to become proficient.

proactive and flexible staffing partner

Pros

At first what convinced us was that the company offered back-office solutions tailored to our industry. We appreciate that they continually upgrade and refine the software to address rapidly changing employment laws at the local, city, state and federal levels. They stay on top of compliance so we're not left scrambling.

Cons

Well at the start I was really unhappy that our leadership chose to host the system on-premises instead of opting for cloud-based solutions. It turned out to be expensive and inefficient for our team. We eventually migrated to the cloud and I can't say enough how much better things are now.

Competitive alternative

Pros

I've noticed they've fixed several problems we had with Bullhorn, the pipelining feature was totally new to me but it's logical for tracking and has proved very helpful. They're also receptive to feature requests, they either implement them or suggest workable alternatives so I really feel genuinely listened to.

Cons

We noticed that a handful of small, seemingly obvious features are still missing which can be frustrating during daily use.

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is being able to input such a vast amount of data into the system without much trouble.

Built to scale

Pros

I've found the software is always being serviced and updated, with fresh additions and new skills released almost weekly so there are constantly improvements and tools to explore. In practice my team uses it to manage prospective candidates from that very first contact, receiving resumes and applications, right through to the point when they are placed in a position. Overall the system is fairly complex but fully capable of supporting a large branch such as the one I lead.

Cons

At times I needed a bit of guidance to locate certain features but after I'm trained or someone shows me the steps, navigating it becomes second nature.

All-in-one Staffing Tool

Pros

Truly I appreciate having both back-office and front-office features combined into one system....it means I can manage everything from customer interactions and scheduling to billing, reporting and administration all within a single unified application. It eliminates the need to constantly switch between different tools and keeps all our data and workflows connected which makes running the practice so much more efficient and cohesive.

Cons

For me the back-office still feels incomplete because it lacks the additional functionality I need to do more advanced tasks.

Improving with time

Pros

I appreciate that Avionte lets me connect job postings with other applications and even includes its own payroll module. I also find it simple to pull tailored reports and being able to send bulk emails to candidates and employees is extremely useful.

Cons

Often when I've submitted tickets to Support, there's been a delay of several weeks before anyone reaches out to me. Because of that lag I end up spending my own time trying to troubleshoot the issue which steals precious hours away from the work I'm supposed to be doing and getting paid for.

Reliable core system

Pros

I think the software is outdated. An overhaul to the new Aero platform was promised, yet it has been postponed multiple times, to my knowledge.

Still evolving

Pros

One thing I really appreciate about Avionte is its focus on innovation and continuous improvements. I value that the team listens to client feedback and will act on suggestions, rolling out changes that actually address the particular needs of each customer rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Cons

What bugs me is how inconsistent the software's evolution has been, updates tend to feel abrupt and leave us scrambling. My team and I invested time becoming proficient with the core application, then through Client Connect there was a strong push for everyone to move over to Aero but that effort was dropped and Aero ended up serving only as a direct-hire platform for temp agencies. Now we're being told we'll shift to another new platform and there are hardly any specifics about what that will look like or how the transition will be handled.

Pros

I can quickly find all the information I need for candidates which makes managing applications much smoother for me.

Cons

highly functional and simple to teach

Pros

As a trainer I find it highly functional and simple to teach new users how to use it.

Cons

For me the biggest annoyance is that the system offers three to five different ways to accomplish nearly anything. I feel that just two clear methods would have been enough.

Pros

I've found it really simple for applicants to create their own profiles and submit applications online without any hassle.

Pros

Our team posts jobs to site easily. I quickly create a new ticket. Setting up multiple departments for invoicing is simple for me. I'm able to easily view new online applicants. I can easily keep track of open orders and run custom reports

Honestly the only downside I can think of at the moment is once you make a favorites group, I noticed there's no way to ever delete it.
