“fantastic support !”

Pros

Bamboo is very user-friendly and the support teams for both Bamboo and payroll have been incredible. If you're comparing options, the customer service is on a completely different level from the competition.

Cons

The only thing I'd change is being able to build custom tables and sections on my own instead of having to contact support.

Between applicant tracking, onboarding and announcements, it covers a lot of the HR basics really well. Those features have been especially useful and make the platform feel well-rounded for day-to-day use.

Cons

The benefits section could use some improvement. I'd also love to see announcements become more interactive, with an engagement option that lets employees like, love, or comment on posts.

“payroll and PTO made simple”

Pros

Handling payroll has been much better thanks to the time tracking feature. I'm not constantly buried in employee requests to fix time clock entries anymore which has been a huge relief. The PTO tracking is also really helpful and employees can quickly check in the mobile app or online to see exactly how much PTO they have available at a glance.

Cons

It would be even better if the performance tracking had more customization options.

This platform is really simple for both admins and employees to use. It also includes several thoughtful features that make day-to-day tasks much easier.

Cons

I'd love to see more flexibility when it comes to customizing performance reviews. Right now, the review options we can send out feel a bit limited especially since different departments may need different formats.

Pros

Getting Bamboo up and running in our school district was very simple and using it day to day has been simple. It has really helped cut down on manual hours and made our processes move much faster.

The only issue has been the integration with our current main system, Infinite Visions.

It has been simple to maintain over time. The timekeeping and payroll integrations work really well and I also appreciate how securely it handles employee information and confidential files.

Something still missing is a simple scheduling software integration for managing hourly employee schedules.

Reporting feels a bit limited. That said, you can export the data to CSV and build your own reports and charts in Excel if needed.

Everything employee-related is kept in one place which makes the platform very simple to use. It performs really well, includes strong wellbeing features and automates a lot of tasks so it saves a lot of time. It also makes hiring and onboarding much more smooth and far more transparent.

One thing that still needs work is the vacation tracking. I still have to handle part of that manually and it would be much better if it were automated. We're allowed to use vacation days from the previous year until March 31 but the system currently doesn't support that option.

“PTO tracking everyone can see”

Pros

Requesting and keeping track of vacation time/PTO with BambooHR has been a breeze. Even from a manager's perspective, it's been really helpful because I can quickly check how much time off my direct reports have used so far this year and approve upcoming requests without any hassle. Everything also rolls back up to HR so there's clear visibility for everyone involved.

Cons

The only thing I'd love to see, if it isn't already available, is a Google Calendar integration. It would be really useful if approved vacation requests automatically marked that employee as "Out of Office" on the company calendar. Aside from that, I really don't have any complaints.

Bringing new hires on board is pretty simple and managing employees with this tool feels simple and hassle-free.

At times new candidates get confused and end up waiting for a while until the PeopleSoft team clears things up.
