“Clean design needs phone kiosk mode”

I really like Calamari's uncluttered design from an employee standpoint. It doesn't have extra buttons or features , only the essentials are included.

Cons

I'd really appreciate a 'kiosk' mode in the mobile layout it would be awesome to have that option available when using the app on a phone.

I really appreciate being able to view the organizational chart along with all of the company's information in a single place

Cons

Sometimes the interface feels somewhat confusing but our HR team really helped us learn how to use it and guided us through navigation.

I find tracking my time off really easy with this system. As someone who just uses it for basic leave requests, it feels very similar to other annual leave platforms I've used before. The Slack integration is definitely a nice touch though.

Cons

ui feels pretty bland and uninspiring to me. While I don't need anything overly complicated, it could definitely use more color and personality especially since the logo suggests something more vibrant and engaging.

I'm finding the software really interactive to use and the support team is hands-down the best I've ever dealt with. Plus it hooks up nicely with other apps such as Google Calendar making integration easy.

I couldn't find anything about the product that I didn't like.

“Everything an HR department needs.”

Pros

Calamari is really useful, especially if you work in an HR department that deals specifically with compliance of labor legislation. We dont have to keep track of every request made by the legal authorities, thanks to this software. Everything we need is available here. You are presented with several options for quick customization. It allows us to handle employees’ leaves in such detail that we even have an option to add anniversary or vacation days separately! It is quite simple to configure as well. It also Integrates with Google services and Slack quite well so you really have everything you need in one location.

Cons

It falters at one point and that is the mandatory requirement of entering the working hours of every employee each day. This might not seem like much at first but if you work in an organization where schedules are frequently altered, for over 300 employees, it becomes too much to handle. We had to dedicate a team to handle schedules alone, which was an added cost we didnt have before. However, the software does contain the essential features for maintaining our employees calendars, so it is still manageable.

I appreciate being able to simply input my time-off dates instead of dealing with lengthy paperwork and complicated approval processes.

Cons

Honestly there isn't much to complain about but I do wish there was an option to specify which days we'd prefer off when submitting time-off requests.

Initially the calendar filters by teams which could be improved by removing the filters altogether.

Its occasionally challenging to configure correctly and lacks intuitive setup.

I cannot automatically adjust the clock to the nearest quarter of an hour when an employee arrives late in the morning or at the end of the day. For example 803 should be automatically shifted to 815 or 1738 to 1730.

Pros

Starting time tracking is straightforward and the customizable absence types are beneficial.

Cons

The reports generated by Calamari dont meet my expectations. Task descriptions are not visible without generating different types of reports. Additionally the total working hours calculated sometimes appear inaccurate.

Pros

The time-off tracking is very easy so I can quickly see who's out and check my remaining vacation days. Those automated reminder emails are a lifesaver for staying on top of responses to my team.

Cons

The Apply and Calendar pages are way too similar and honestly should just be merged into one. I constantly mix them up and try doing things on the wrong page. Also, the Board section feels redundant since we already have those same tabs on the left sidebar.

“Leave Tracking Platform That Checks All of the Boxes”

Pros

Calamari is an outstanding leave tracking tool that has received nothing but positive feedback from our company. Its approval flow and Slack integration have significantly streamlined our processes. The customer service team is responsive and helpful always willing to assist with any needs. Their recent implementation of a new solution based on our feedback demonstrates their commitment to improvement.

Cons

The .csv importer can be a bit temperamental. Rarely am I able to complete an upload task without needing support from the Calamari team. However they are immediately responsive and assist me in troubleshooting the error. Resolving this would reduce my reliance on their customer support team but its a minor inconvenience.

While the app is generally good I require more assistance in generating useful reports that have been elusive so far.

Calamari is incredibly user-friendly even for employees unfamiliar with similar tools. Its integration is seamless and the support team is attentive to users needs. The app itself is intuitive and easy to navigate.

I dont see any cons. Ive been using Calamari for 4 years which is why I chose it again for my current company.
