“Hiring candidates with devskiller”
Pros
devSkiller offers unparalleled flexibility in test types, an exceptional in-browser developer experience, and a vast array of regularly updated pre-defined tests. It has become our go-to platform for assessing and enhancing candidate skills in our projects.
Cons
Managing candidates becomes challenging when dealing with a large volume. It would be beneficial to have features like note-taking and grouping to streamline the process.

“Easy to implements”
Pros
I found the buying process to be excellent. The customer success team was quick and the best to work with.
Cons
Since my interactions are mostly related to purchasing and subscribing to the product, I cannot provide much detail. Everything was pretty simple and easy for me. However, I expected better branding options. Even with the Essential plan, I would have liked to have the option to brand our company alongside DevSkiller in tests and landing pages. From the candidates perspective, they are testing for our company, not DevSkiller.

“Great product overall”
Pros
The user interface is simple and easy to understand. It includes all the essential features we need. As a smaller company with specific requirements, DevSkiller provided exactly what we were looking for.
Cons
While I understand that DevSkiller focuses on developer and technical assessments, I would have liked to see more built-in questions related to soft skills, architecture and best practices. Since we aren't looking to recruit experts in specific languages and value overall knowledge in object-oriented development, many of the questions aren't relevant to us. Additionally, many programming questions are too lengthy. Shorter, more targeted questions would have been preferable. However, since you can create your own questions, it is essential to have the internal expertise to craft the questions you need.

“Perfect platform for your technical recruitment process.”
Pros
The interface is intuitive, the test library offers a wide range of tests and DevSkillers support team was excellent and very helpful. Integration with our ATS was smooth and easy.
Cons
Although the test library offers a wide range of tests, some are too detailed, requiring specific searches based on the job. Despite this the platform is very easy to use and intuitive.

“Excellent Software”
Pros
Creating new tests is a simple task with DevSkiller, thanks to numerous preconfigured options by language, which can be customized as needed. The tests focus more on solving broken code or engaging in pair programming rather than just random syntax questions.
Cons
Occasionally, candidates have trouble using the coding challenge console and may try to complete the challenge externally before uploading it. While this is more about the nature of the task rather than DevSkiller itself, I have allowed candidates to retake the test if they provide a reasonable explanation for the issue.

“Kornit Digital for SW developers and QA engineers candidates”
Pros
The customer support is outstanding! They respond quickly and assist with any issue I encounter. The platform is easy to use for filtering and monitoring candidates as well as creating tests. It offers automatic scoring for nearly all test types which allows me to view session recordings and provides excellent analytics on candidates.
Cons
There are not enough tests available for less experienced candidates, like students. I may not have found this feature but it seems that if a test is canceled, it counts as a used test, especially with a limited license.

“Efficient way to screen candidates”
Pros
I like the availability of wide range of coding tests for software engineers. I can customize and create my own tests, and it's possible to replay candidates' coding sessions. Each coding task includes a difficulty rating and results show how candidates perform based on these ratings. The platform is intuitive and easy to navigate, with responsive customer support.
Cons
It would be helpful to have better pricing plans that accommodate hiring instabilities.

“Cuts down on the recruiting time significantly”
Pros
I like the option to create custom assessment tasks and verify candidates legitimacy by viewing their recorded sessions. The platform is very user-friendly.
Cons
I would like to see the candidates IP location included in the downloaded report. Additionally, it would be great if DevSkiller expanded its coverage to include more skills, particularly in the telecom sector.

“Great results and outstanding customer service :)”
Pros
They helped us cut the candidate dropout rate by 40% during technical screenings. Additionally, they saved us hours of work for both the recruitment and tech teams.
Cons
While they offer excellent predefined tests, we prefer using our own, which are a bit more complex to set up and automate the correction for. Nonetheless, the ability to customize is fantastic and saves us a lot of time, even though we still need to manually check some parts of the solutions.

“Excellent dev hiring tool!”
Pros
Devskiller has improved our technical hiring process for our development team. We really like the wide range of coding tests available and the option to add our own tests is a big plus. Starting with a free trial allowed us to easily evaluate the tool's capabilities before committing to a subscription.
Cons

“Good for the nitty-gritty, surprising what you'll find out about your candidates”
Pros
The platform offers a thorough way to assess candidates. For instance, you can evaluate them across various code libraries, I focused on Vue.js. The answers aren't easily found on Google, as the company uses internal tools to prevent answers from being sourced from Stack Overflow. The questions are well-designed, with challenging multiple-choice options that deter guessing, especially those requiring multiple answers. The programming exercises are top-notch and I was genuinely impressed by the variation in candidates skills across different seniority levels. These exercises involve live coding with several tests to pass, allowing us to view their approach, assess their GIT usage and use cheating-prevention mechanisms.
Cons
The pricing structure feels a bit restrictive and a more modular approach would be beneficial. However, after discussing this with their customer service team, they were very helpful in finding a suitable solution. The interface can be somewhat cumbersome when building tests.

“Saves Expensive Mistakes”
Pros
As a semi-technical founder, selecting developers is very important for me. With DevSkiller, I get an unbiased, independent assessment of each candidates skills. It is easy to add various skill requirements, even in areas where I have limited expertise. The onboarding process is clear and non-intimidating for candidates. The dashboard simplifies what could be complex information into a clear, concise format. I also like the Slack integration and the ability to create custom tests.
Cons
As a smaller user, a lower-cost plan with pay per test options would be ideal. However, if it helps avoid a bad hire, it is worth the investment.

“Diverse technical assessment tool”
Pros
I value the diverse library and range of test types offered by DevSkiller. They include tests for coverage, code quality, database queries, debugging and DevOps tasks. These tests reflect the real qualifications needed for a software engineer, unlike other tools that only assess algorithmic problem-solving skills.
Cons
I have few suggestions like DevSkiller could improve the user experience and broaden their test library.
