immediate access to matching candidates

Pros

One thing I really like is that right after I pay I can immediately see high-quality candidates whose resumes match my job description. It saves so much time and connects me with the right people instantly.

Cons

So far I have not found any drawbacks as it consistently pulls together high-quality responses for my company and the role I'm hiring for.

incredibly user-friendly, helps hire quickly

Pros

For my small business I have found Indeed to be an incredibly user-friendly platform that helps me hire quickly. Plus creating and publishing a job post only takes a few minutes and even when I use a free listing I still received a surprisingly high number of leads!

Cons

Sometimes I do not receive email alerts when an applicant applies so I end up having to log into the site and go through applications manually to make sure I contact everyone who showed interest which can be pretty inconvenient at times.

Useful platform & easy posting

Pros

I have turned to Indeed to help hire employees for my business and overall it has been a pretty useful platform. Posting job listings was easy to do and before long I began getting a good number of applicants. That made the hiring side of things less of a headache and saved me time compared with other methods I've tried in the past. Naturally some candidates were a much better fit than others but the software still delivered a reliable pool to choose from. So yes I'd recommend it to employers wanting to streamline their hiring process.

Cons

Quite a few applicants did not fully match the job's requirements so I ended up spending extra time sorting through resumes and eliminating unsuitable candidates.

simplifies hiring process

Pros

As an employer I like being able to browse every applicant and make changes to job descriptions whenever necessary which simplifies our hiring process.

Cons

Honestly there isn't much about this platform that bothers me. As I find it really easy to use and I like that it receives regular updates to keep things running smoothly.

price increases and access is harder

Pros

One thing I really like is the resume database. As it's honestly the only feature I find genuinely useful. And when I have to do deep recruiting and proactively reach out to candidates to fill open roles, that database lets me search for people everywhere who have the experience I'm seeking.

Cons

Lately I have noticed the price keeps increasing and it's becoming progressively harder to access what I actually want.I've been using it for recruiting for over ten years and their improvements haven't improved my experience. I honestly preferred the old basic version.

Makes job hunting easy

Pros

Indeed makes job hunting easy. I found my job at Penn Highlands through it in December 2022. I also liked that I could filter for full-time work and preferred shifts which made my search more focused. I still work there today though I have since moved to a different role within the organization.

Cons

To be honest what bothers me most about Indeed are the scam job listings that sometimes slip through onto the site. I always try to stay vigilant when using it because while many postings are genuine, a number are fraudulent so you really need to double-check and exercise caution before applying.

Primary way to bring in applicants

Pros

It has become our primary way to bring in applicants directly. Also the employer dashboard is pretty easy to navigate and I like that we have a specific Account Manager to handle any questions. And because it is such a recognized jobs site, it consistently draws a healthy volume of candidates.

Cons

Lately it feels like every job we post has to be promoted as a sponsored listing before we start getting applicants. When hiring ramps up, those sponsorship fees add up quickly and can become quite costly for us.

Found support and workflow amazing

Pros

I found customer support, ease of use, recruitment workflow and the user access portal very useful and amazing.

Cons

We did not have many complaints but what we liked least about it was employee management and connection reliability.

easy start but applicant quality dropped over time

Pros

Getting started was not a problem and initially my team and I received several high-quality leads through the service but sadly none of those prospects actually worked out in the end.

Cons

Over time, the quality of applicants went down. Amd even though the job listing stayed up, more and more underqualified people started applying.

Taps passive candidates but has billing errors

Pros

For our hiring needs I lean on this platform not only to post open roles but also to pull up resumes from people who are currently employed or casually exploring opportunities. Overall I find it really useful that I can tap into passive candidates and that the system connects directly with our applicant tracking setup which simplifies moving candidates through our process.

Cons

Recently I got an email on 1/14/26 that claimed both of my subscriptions were going to renew on January 17, 2026 for a combined total of $551.20 and that kicked off a frustrating experience. I actually only have one subscription and it has been paused since 12/17/25 with a $0 balance so the notification made no sense. Even if that single subscription were active, the correct renewal amount would be $127.20, not the inflated figure I was sent. When I called support, I was told those billing messages are automated which honestly did not made sense to me and felt dismissive. And I was verbally assured I wouldn't be charged but now I have to monitor my credit card account closely to make sure no mistaken charges appear. On top of that, when I am logged into my account and my subscription is paused, the system shouldn't automatically open a new subscription just because I want to view a resume but it should ask if I want to reactivate. That behavior forced me into another call with customer service and more vigilance over my billing. All of this makes it obvious that those automated emails aren't accurately reflecting what's actually happening in my account, even when I am signed in.

search without recruiting firm costs

Pros

With Indeed I was able to search for new applicants without paying the huge expense that a recruiting firm would charge.

Cons

Although the platform clearly shows how well candidates match a job I personally wish it would prevent them from applying when they are not a good fit.

Helpful tenstreet integration

Pros

Indeed was very helpful for posting jobs. And through its Tenstreet integration, we were able to connect with the best candidates more easily.

Cons

Well I am not sure how much this one is at fault versus the industry overall but the job market has clearly changed. I think digital platforms are partly to blame as they often create confusing steps, dead ends and friction for both employers and job seekers.

Consistently find high-quality candidates

Pros

What my team and I like most about it is that we consistently find high-quality candidates through the platform.

Cons

I did have an issue with how pricey the service felt. Since we only needed it to recruit one or two people, the fees seemed rather steep for our family-owned small business making it tough to justify the expense.

broad opportunities match my background

Pros

It offers a broad selection of job opportunities that match my background and interests. Relevant positions show up in my inbox on a regular basis which makes browsing easy. I also like that employers have the ability to review and compare applicants qualifications side-by-side.

Cons

It can pull in a much wider pool of candidates and often that includes people who aren't truly qualified or genuinely interested in a specific job opening.

Pulls jobs from a huge range

Pros

I've noticed that Indeed pulls together job posts from a huge range of companies and sectors so I get to browse a broad spread of roles and opportunities.

Cons

There is a lot of competition because the site is so popular. Many jobs get flooded with applicants which makes it harder to land the more sought-after positions.

easy setup, great support and screening

Pros

Setting up an account on Indeed was very easy. The background info it gives before I meet a candidate makes screening faster and simpler. I have also been impressed with their support as they don't just fix technical issues, they help me improve search settings, get better candidate matches and make the most of my budget.

Cons

I wish automatic replies could be set up more flexibly so they only go out under specific conditions I choose.

There is a free tier letting our team try it out and see how it works before we have to pay for a month to post one of our job listings.

Speeds up hiring

Pros

The platform brings in a large number of applicants and speeds up our hiring process and it tries to match candidates by scanning resumes for keywords that align with the role.

Cons

Nothing major but I wish I had greater control over the screening process. For example, enforcing that applicants actually read the job description before applying or requiring prescreening questions before they submit applications.

Well-designed and offer top-notch support

Pros

Indeed is well-designed and very user-friendly and it is easy to navigate too. Also the pricing feels fair, plus customer service has been absolutely top-notch.

Cons

Honestly I don't really have many complaints. The only drawback I've noticed is that the app can sometimes crash and requires a reset. But overall it's been a great experience.

Large applicant pool with prescreening questions

Pros

We like the large pool of applicants and the easy to use interface. Plus I can set prescreening questions so only qualified candidates move forward. And I have not needed customer support but I do get a notification every time someone applies. It is also easy to track who I've messaged and who has started an application.

Cons

The platform brings in many applicants and even underqualified people still slip through the filters. The cost is also high for a small business like ours. So we chose the lowest tier but got a good number of suitable candidates.
