“Handles payroll better than I could ever have myself

Pros

Onpay handles payroll way better than I ever could on my own. The whole process becomes so much simpler, deadlines never get missed and accessing reports is so easy. Whenever I need help, the chat support team responds quickly with knowledgeable people who really understand how everything works. Setting things up was easy, making employee changes happens instantly. Running payroll takes no time at all. Direct deposit keeps everything paperless too. When tax season comes around, W-2's are ready to print right away in a convenient self-service format.

Cons

The reporting for workers comp requires me to manually crunch the numbers. I have to figure out regular pay by converting overtime dollars back to straight time rates. Plus there's no way to assign multiple comp codes to one employee which is really limiting.

The customer support team is genuinely outstanding and whenever I needed assistance (which was quite often), they were there to help me through every step. As someone running a small business, the pricing structure works perfectly for my budget and the level of service I receive is exceptional. Making the switch was one of the best decisions I've made for my business operations.

Getting support through the online portal can be tricky when you're trying to schedule appointments. I had to resort to calling directly to get immediate help.

In my experience it is very simple to use plus it's loaded with useful features. Adding workers comp was easyy. The QuickBooks export option is a nice touch that saves me time. For the price point, it's so polished and definitely gives you the most bang for your buck. What really stands out though is the customer support. They go above and beyond every time. Response times are lightning fast and the chat feature works perfectly when I need quick help. The support team clearly knows their stuff inside and out.

Cons

The initial setup can be pretty confusing without proper guidance. I really wished there were helpful pop-ups or tutorials to walk you through everything especially when setting up your first payroll or dealing with salaried employees and unusual pay schedules. While customer service is great at helping out, it would be much better to have built-in instructions or overview links showing you all the available features. I'm still discovering new capabilities but the learning curve could definitely be smoother.

Pros

Running payroll every other week has not been an issue even though I don't have much HR background. The employee onboarding process is simple and user-friendly. Customer support through email and online chat has been excellent whenever I've needed help. It's been a lifesaver for my small business over the past two years.

Haven't found anything to complain about yet. Really happy with what I'm getting for the cost.

Nothing really comes to mind. The functionality and user support are solid across the board. I guess the only minor issue is that it doesnt work when I'm connected to a VPN.

This fits my business needs perfectly. The few times there were any hiccups, they responded quickly with solutions. I can run payroll whenever I want in about 2 minutes. Their quarterly and annual filings have always been accurate and reliable. Very pleased overall.

The customer service here is superb. Whenever I need help or have questions, someone's always ready to assist. The platform is really easy to navigate and I can quickly search for any employee to view their pay history. The export function works smoothly and has been incredibly useful for my needs.

The loading times can be pretty frustrating. It takes a couple minutes to get into the system and sometimes even longer when I'm trying to pull up my employee list. Not sure if it's because we have several hundred people in there or if smaller companies deal with this too but the wait time is definitely noticeable.

What really stands out for me are two key things. First, the interface is so easy on the eye. I had everything configured in just a couple hours. Second, the support team has been invaluable during onboarding and whenever I've had questions pop up.

The QuickBooks integration works great after you get it configured but the initial setup was pretty involved. I had to adjust several settings in my QuickBooks accounts to get the mapping right and ended up making multiple calls to support to work through the issues, though they did help me sort everything out.

Pros

I'm not a payroll specialist but this makes everything manageable for me. It handles employment paperwork automatically. Things like new hire documentation and quarterly tax filings just get taken care of without me having to think about it. Since I'm running a California business, the automatic sick pay calculations for part-timers is really helpful.

Cons

The billing transition from the free trial wasn't clear to me. I prefer knowing exactly when charges will start hitting our account. Also missing confirmation notifications when documents get submitted to government agencies.
