everything I need is right there

Pros

Quick and easy to navigate. Really user-friendly with everything I need right on the dashboard.

Cons

Wish I could handle things like tax levies myself instead of having to call support every time. Would be nice to have a lookup feature for this stuff

misleading sales presentation

The HR team was more responsive than other softwares I've tried

Cons

The sales pitch wasn't exactly honest about what we'd actually be paying. They hit us with more than $1600 in charges before we even processed our first payroll which felt pretty deceptive.

we lost reports after canceling

Pulling reports was pretty much the only straightforward part of using this system

Cons

Finding what I needed became a real headache and the interface felt messy throughout my experience. When we decided to switch providers, I had to reach out via email just to get our payroll reports from this year. Once you cancel, they remove everything from your online account, which is frustrating since you still need those reports for tax purposes and audits.

Disappointing across the board, stay away

Pros

The help desk team is quite solid. A couple of their reps know there stuff.

I can't even begin to describe the nightmare I went through with this platform. As a business owner, I expected challenges with cash flow or finding opportunities, not spending the worst 3 weeks of my business dealing with implementation disasters. They got almost everything wrong: benefits charges, how those charges were applied (pre and post-tax), you name it. The final straw was when they simply weren't going to process payroll at all. There was an issue with one employee and instead of reaching out to us, their solution was to do absolutely nothing. This kind of thing seems pretty typical. The technology doesn't function properly, there's zero account ownership (I currently deal with 6-7 different people depending on the issue) and management has this weird thing where they put requests in email signatures asking you to tell their boss how they're performing though letting that boss know the answer is "terribly" gets you nowhere. Seriously, run away from this one. These people will become a massive drain on your business and you'll end up micromanaging every single thing just to get basic functionality.

Perfect Balance of Functionality

Pros

Features I need most are easy to access and it's clearly designed with regular payroll users in mind. While reporting and basic analytics are available, the dashboard smartly prioritizes People and Payroll functions. Adding or removing employees and contractors is simple and I really appreciate the support when issues pop up. The system stays reliable across different locations, letting me process payroll and pull reports from anywhere. After years with our W-2 employees, I recently started using the Flex platform for contractor payments too, it's been a huge help with year-end reporting and 1099 generation. We switched from handling our own payroll in QuickBooks and honestly can't imagine going back. The pandemic really highlighted how valuable features like COVID relief program support, out-of-state remote work adjustments and specialized reporting have been.

Cons

Building custom reports takes some time though I don't need to do this very often and support is there when I need it.

customizing it is hard

Pros

The efficiency is solid and it handles most of what I need in one place. Managing compensation and PTO is simple and the interface doesn't require much learning.

Cons

The interface can be pretty complex at times and there's a ton of features we simply dont need for our business. Customizing it to fit our organization's specific requirements is more challenging than it should be.

Inconsistent support

Pros

The accounting features handle pretty much everything I need without difficulty.

Cons

Customer support can inconsistent. Sometimes you get great help, other times its really hard to even reach someone when you need assistance.

Dependable payroll solution

Pros

I can always count on this platform to get payroll into employee accounts exactly when it's supposed to happen. Whenever I need to make adjustments or reach out to our representative, they respond quickly and are really helpful with any questions.

Cons

We went through a rough patch with constant account rep changes making it nearly impossible to get help when problems came up though things seem better now

smooth transition thanks to their team

Pros

Their transition team made everything smooth and I really appreciated how easy it was to coordinate the system to match exactly what we needed.

Cons

This is a small thing but the support could be better organized. Sometimes you get bounced around between different people depending on which module your dealing with, which can be frustrating when you just want a quick answer.

Punctual with their operations

Pros

Everything gets handled quickly and right on schedule.

Cons

When our check delivery got messed up and they were left under a doormat where they got completely soaked before we even opened, they fixed the issue and switched us to a different carrier.

Pros

Able to reach someone 97% of the time when I need help navigating issues which is really impressive. The payroll and HR departments are especially accessible and always available when you need them.

Cons

The Performance Appraisal feature could use some improvements to make it easier to navigate. When calling Time and Attendance support, you'll get excellent help if you reach them in the morning but they tend to be less friendly and somewhat rude if you contact them between 2-4 pm.

simple to add employees

Pros

Managing my mother's companion care payments has been easy with this platform. Adding new employees or making changes is not an issue and adjusting hours couldn't be easier. The tax information is always accurate and delivered on time, which saves me so much hassle. What I really love is the direct deposit feature, it gives me peace of mind knowing caregivers get paid correctly and promptly, even when I'm traveling or away from home.

Cons

Biggest hurdle is making sure I input correct payroll info before the bi-weekly deadline though thankfully there are helpful reminders sent out.
