setting it up was a challenge

Pros

Appreciate how smooth our bi-weekly payroll processing has become. Whenever questions come up, both our account rep and her manager get back to us quickly with clear answers.

Cons

setting it up became challenging due to quite a bit of staff turnover at Paychex earlier this year which made the process more difficult than expected.

Responsive staff with clear communication

Pros

Love how responsive the staff is when I reach out with questions or concerns. They get back to me quickly and communicate clearly.

Cons

The automated payroll system recently pulled data that wasn't approved and grabbed the wrong pay period entirely.

A bit too costly

Pros

I was able to manage my relative's properties while still contributing to social security and getting the peace of mind that comes with Worker's Comp and disability coverage. The health insurance access was a huge plus and having quarterly employer taxes automatically calculated and handled for my relative made everything so much smoother.

Cons

The monthly invoice costs really add up especially when you're on a fixed income like I am as a senior

Automates state and federal reports

Pros

Poor formatting and customization in reports

Pros

I can access this system from anywhere whether I'm at the office, working from home or checking things on my phone. The flexibility is really convenient for staying connected no matter where I am.

Cons

Reports follow Paychex's layout preferences rather than what works best for me as a user. The formatting is pretty poor. I'll often see an employee's info start on one page and then continue on the next, creating these awkward split entries. I can't easily customize reports to pull just the data I need so I end up having to call our payroll rep to get custom reports made. The help documentation is outdated and doesn't match what I'm actually seeing on screen. Also frustrating is how the entry screen shifts around after I input data so my cursor ends up in the wrong spot for the next entry.

Helpful online library

Pros

Works well for what I need it to do. Adding new employees and updating their info is straightforward. The HR online library is really helpful too. Most of the custom reports give me exactly what I'm looking for. Payroll consistently arrives on time the following day which is great. Having a dedicated contact person makes a huge difference.

Cons

I wish the decimal could extend further for PTO/VAC accrual calculations based on hours paid. Every time I add someone new, I need to contact my rep to get it fixed.

Lets me monitor staff hours

Pros

The reporting capabilities are fantastic. I can easily track staff hours and generate all the federal and state reports I need without any problems.

Cons

The system kicks me out way too fast and I wish the reports had more detail to them.

Reasonable cost

Pros

Love the customer service and the reporting features work really well for our needs. The payroll costs are reasonable plus the interface is well-structured. What I appreciate most is how current everything stays with payroll regulations and compliance requirements. There are also some nice extra benefits beyond just the basic payroll functions.

Cons

The system runs a bit sluggish though I've noticed this with other payroll providers too. The team is addressing it so hopefully we'll see improvements soon.

Straightforward and User-Friendly

Pros

Entering information online is really simple and the whole interface feels logical.

Cons

sometimes I struggle to get in touch with my rep when I need to. Back when I had to call everything in, reaching my specific representative could be really frustrating. The online system works much better though.

simple to train new members

Pros

The setup takes some effort initially but once you get through it, everything becomes easy. Since a few of our divisions operate seasonally, I appreciate how simple it'll be to train new team members when they come on board.

Cons

Finding workarounds for certain errors that can't be fixed directly has been frustrating and I've had to get creative with solutions more than once.

Pros

The accuracy of their service is really impressive and you can count on getting reliable results every time.

Cons

Frustrated with customer service

Pros

In my view, the platform is alright. It is user friendly.

Cons

Poor customer service for over a year now. Emails go unanswered for weeks and even when support directors or upper management get involved, the follow-up is terrible. Really frustrating when you need help and can't get it.

I really appreciate how this web-based system handles customer traffic management especially when there's a sudden surge in demand for specific products. The single-user access at a time keeps things organized and prevents conflicts.

Cons

The software only works on Windows and Mac with no mobile app available. Monthly billing gets expensive, wish they offered quarterly payment options. Pretty limited to just HR tasks and you can't do any API integration or customization work.

Cons
