Pros

Not only is it simple to use but it is quite detailed and has a native iPhone-compatible app. However these are the basics I believe every software has.

Cons

It is slow and sometimes the changes I made do not fully reflect. Plus time and attendance cards require multiple redundant button pushes to save any changes.

There is nothing so special about it however the system worked fine for us for payroll services.

I must say it was not the easiest to use. And yes it is decent if you are on a budget but as I said it is not the most user-friendly.

I love how easy Paychex is to use. Also it is user friendly and offers basic to advanced payroll features.

One thing I so not like is the issues I run into when submitting payroll and the lack of communication when errors occur.

Often I notice that my PTO is listed incorrectly and the menu navigation is not the easiest.

They processed my payroll and taxes on time but unfortunately, they made many errors that took months to correct.

You are assigned an account advisor but you can never contact them directly. You end up playing voice tag with them whenever you have questions. When I called I wanted an immediate answer, but the process took much longer than necessary. If you want an immediate response, you get put on hold to speak to the next available agent who is often less familiar with your account. This increases the risk of getting incorrect information which happened multiple times to me making the correction process even worse. Also at times I need to speak with both a Payroll Specialist and a Time & Attendance Specialist for certain issues but unfortunately, one cannot see what the other sees.

It is simple to process and the platform is ideal for smaller companies. And even though I did not think that it is the most intuitive but still user friendly.

Cons

Customer service is lacking. Like I did not find the reps very helpful as they do not have the knowledge needed to resolve complex issues or system configuration questions.

The platform is widely used in the entertainment industry. It allowed my union members to access their paycheck info and W-2s from multiple companies all in one app. The representative for my area was always available and proactive in maintaining customer satisfaction fixing problems when needed.

It can be tricky to process paychecks for people with different pay structures. Also I feel like the layout could be improved. Plus there are lots of submenus to navigate to adjust specific parameters for each employee. It can be quite confusing.

I find it fairly easy to set up and use. Also it streamlines searching for reports and forms.

The terminology for forms under the search function makes it difficult for me to find some reports and forms.

Paychex Flex software has streamlined payroll and HR tasks for us with scheduling, new hires, terminations, wage increases and more. Also it is easy to use and works logically. I am happy that it makes employees responsible for ensuring their information and hours are correct.

It took some of my time in order to understand how to run reports for reviewing OT but I eventually found features I did not know were available, so that was a nice bonus.

I can't think of anything I liked or would recommend about Paychex Flex.

If I had to pick one thing I say that the system's separate platforms cause a lot of confusion. It is very complicated and leads to reporting and employee record issues. Each part of the system like time and attendance or benefits admin is managed by a different team and platform, creating issues throughout the employee lifecycle. We left the platform four months ago and we are still dealing with the problems caused. Also it did not handle our tax filings properly.

Well I very much like how easy it is to use the reports and submit payroll numbers.

I did not like the customer service at all and there were numerous errors too.

It is an easy and right way for employees to clock in and out from anywhere. Plus it allows me to track hours, view paychecks and is simple to use.

One major drawback is that it struggles to log in on older devices. Well it works best on newer phones and even phones that are just a few years old only log in about half the time.

The thing I hate is that I have to sign in every time I want to view my information.

Paychex processed payroll quickly and I never had to worry about it being late even if I did it the day before. The time clock was also very useful and user friendly. Plus employees can clock in on their phone or at their workstation.

It is very time-consuming and difficult to ensure that Paychex Flex is pulling the correct taxes for each employee. I think it would be hard to use for a large company.

It is quite easy to use and entering time cards is quite a simple task now.

Well I noticed that it did not have all the reports needed for a construction-specific company.

There is a lack of innovation. The technology feels outdated to me as it looks like it is from decades ago.

The fact that I can conveniently review my W2, paystubs, and access them whenever needed in one place is fantastic. Printing or downloading them is effortless. I also like the clock-in machine feature.

Cons

The app takes an eternity to log in most of the time. There were instances when I would return from lunch on time, but by the time the app opened and I clocked back in, I would be, sometimes, up to 4 minutes late. Those minutes add up when you only get paid once a month.

It is so easy for employees to move around and scroll through the software

I wish it had an option to request time adjustments when I forget to clock in.
