Cons

The constant sales pitches are really annoying. It feels like every interaction turns into a sales opportunity. I've purchased add-ons before that didn't live up to expectations and now I'm skeptical of new offerings. What's particularly frustrating is when they disguise sales calls as "HR check-ins" or other legitimate business discussions, only to pivot into selling more services.

Not much to mention here. The sales team is alright. They know how to present their services well. When I was managing around 50 employees, I went for the PaychexOne suite.
Cons
Managing different issues requires contacting separate departments. Payroll, HR, 401K and health benefits each have their own teams, making it frustrating to get quick responses from anyone besides payroll. The time tracking system feels disconnected from the main platform. Getting basic Excel reports is impossible and I can't generate simple employee trend reports showing weekly hours and pay that I could analyze myself. Even calling support is annoying with those ridiculously long 10-digit phone extensions. I'm exhausted just dialing the number.

The whole experience with this company was absolutely terrible. I trusted them with my 401k contributions from each paycheck but when we tried switching providers, there was constant confusion about whether my account was actually closed or not. Nobody could give me straight answers and they kept saying one thing while my employer thought something completely different. After going back and forth for months, I basically gave up trying to sort it out. Recently I checked my account and was shocked to find that 90% of my retirement savings had vanished. Turns out they were using MY personal 401k funds to pay their own account fees, over $155 monthly for "plan administration" costs! This is completely unethical behavior and I honestly think there stealing from customers. Would never recommend this company to anyone.

I already knew everything about it before starting. I knew what to expect. What stands out most is how much simpler payroll processing has become, especially when dealing with full-time employees. The time clock system runs smoothly and honestly, most days we can just set it and forget it without any headaches.
Cons
I had some trouble figuring out the PTO system and requesting unpaid time off. The interface wasn't as simple as I expected and I ended up having to customize my dashboard layout to make things more accessible.

Employee self-service feature is really handy and runs smoothly when everything's functioning properly.

Customer service is absolutely terrible as they ignore complaints and never actually fix anything. The software is constantly buggy and glitchy, which is frustrating since I'm pretty tech-savvy but still can't get things working properly. Their time/attendance and payroll departments dont communicate with each other and have completely different hours, making it impossible to get help. They barely tell you about upcoming changes and there customer policies are just awful overall. To make it worse, they keep trying to sell you more Paychex products while your current issues remain unresolved. I've sent four inquiries about the same problem from last May and still haven't gotten a real solution. While some reps are great, way too many are unresponsive.

I really appreciate how flexible this platform is. I can adjust my 401k contributions, HsA deposits, direct deposit settings and other benefits all from one simple portal. The interface is straightforward.
Cons
The only real drawback I've found is that the 401k section lacks API integration so I can't sync it with external apps like Mint for detailed portfolio tracking. Having that connection would be incredible for monitoring my investments in real time.

I'm really pleased with how responsive their customer service is. Whenever I call, I actually get through to a real person who can help. Having everything bundled together like our 401K and benefits through one provider makes things so much simpler for our small business. Plus, our HR representative has been fantastic to work with.
Cons
The organization could definitely be better. Having to jump between different sites instead of keeping everything in one place on the portal is frustrating. Training materials are scattered around too and could use some structure.

It is so easy to use and moving through different sections feels natural. Everything is clearly labeled so I never get lost trying to find what I need. Customer support has been outstanding and our dedicated rep is always knowledgeable.
Cons
I wish staff could update their own addresses instead of having to go through me as the admin every time. Currently they can view their information but can't make any changes themselves.
