Pros

I can log in whether I'm at the office or working from home, which is really convenient. Making changes or updates in the system is pretty straightforward most of the time.

Cons

Happy with how it works

Pros

The website is userfriendly and remembers my login details, making it simple to handle payroll processing every pay period.

Cons

Convenient for employees and management

Pros

Website is convenient whether you're an employee or managing staff. I really appreciate how payroll processing works with the filtering options and saved views, makes it simple to switch between different tasks and focus on exactly what I need.

Cons

I've worked with several different specialists over time and honestly, not all of them are the same quality. When my assigned person can't resolve an issue, I usually turn to the online chat support as they're incredibly helpful there!

Handles audits and taxes

Pros

I can handle payroll whenever it works for my schedule and the interface is tidy. Every team member gets access to their own data. Everything stays organized for audit purposes, tax payments are automated and all the necessary forms get generated automatically.

Cons

I wish there was a way to help employees when they forget their payroll login details. Having access to reset or recover their accounts would be really helpful.

Worst experience I've ever had

Pros

Unable to find any positive aspects to highlight as I've had entirely negative experiences with the company.

Cons

It has been a very bad experience dealing with them. They made a huge error by withdrawing my 401k contributions from someone else's account instead of mine. When their manager Michael contacted me about the mistake, he was rude and demanding, expecting me to immediately pay back money that was wrongly taken due to their manual processes. The situation got worse when they tried getting me to sign an agreement allowing them to charge unlimited interest and fees. They showed zero accountability for their error and expected me to cover all costs of their negligence. Based on other complaints, these financial mistakes seem to happen frequently with them.

Requests take forever

Pros

Interface between employers and employees works really well and I'm impressed with the overall quality. Sure, making certain updates can feel a bit tricky but it's nothing major. The core functionality is solid and does exactly what I need it to do.

Cons

Getting ahold of my customer service rep is nearly impossible. Every request I submit takes anywhere from 2 to 5 months to get handled which is ridiculous. The communication is just missing, not that they're rude or anything, but they can't seem to complete anything I ask for properly or within a reasonable timeframe.

Just a call away

Pros

The whole system is pretty easy to handle. Most things make sense right away and when I get stuck, their support team is always there to help with just a quick call.

Cons

The development team is putting in effort to improve things but there's often a long gap between when updates start and when they're finished, which makes the system feel clunky to use in the meantime.

Appreicate the convenience it provides

Pros

I love how convenient this is. I can access everything from anywhere at any time. All the features are right at my fingertips and reports get processed super quickly. Running payroll has become effortless.

Cons

I wish I had a better understanding of what's included in my Paychex package. I really need to carve out more time to dive deeper and learn the system properly.

The interface is really simple and logging in is a breeze. Most of the time everything runs smoothly without any problems.

Cons

Can track time from phone

Pros

What I really appreciate is being able to track my time right from my phone through their app and website, super convenient.

Cons

Time tracking gets tricky when you need to make changes after using the clock-in and clock-out buttons. It throws errors and forces you to start over. As long as you're consistent with entering everything correctly the first time though, it works fine.

Wide variety of modules

Pros

The variety of modules available is amazing. Payroll, HR, retirement, time and attendance, plus hiring tools all in one place. After using it for two years, this system has seriously streamlined my workflow and freed up so much time for other important tasks.

Cons

The benefits module just didn't work for our small business. We tried implementing it but had to drop it since it wasn't compatible with our size and needs.

Pros

The customer service reps I've spoken with have all been really polite and professional. They handle payroll processing accurately and get everything done quickly.

Cons

Couldn�t be more disappointing

Pros

The payroll process flows smoothly when you're using their time and labor system. Our HR service contact was wonderful though unfortunately he's no longer with the company. Beyond that there weren't many other standout features that impressed me.

Cons

The system is heavily siloed, forcing me to enter identical information across multiple platforms repeatedly. There's no automation for settings and I had to activate features in a specific sequence across different areas just to give someone basic time and labor access. Customer service is absolutely terrible. The benefits service is a complete disaster, our Finance Director couldn't get benefits access for 4 months due to system issues they showed no interest in resolving and initially they wouldn't even allow paper enrollment forms. For an 80-person company paying over $40k annually, we couldn't get detailed invoices to understand service costs and they kept raising rates every year. They consistently botched legal processes like COBRA and 401k payments. The timeclocks constantly went offline for days without explanation, yet they charged us $400 monthly to rent two broken units they refused to repair. When an employee couldn't access paystubs through the app, their "solution" was sending my paystub to that person instead. There were countless other ways they wasted our money, time and energy. Working with them for a year and a half was already too long. I was thrilled when we finally switched.
