“Bumpy start, but smooth after that”

The setup process was simple and easy and the benefits offered are great too.

Cons

When I was getting onboarded one of their reps did not send me the onboarding email. Also I had to follow up four times over two weeks which was frustrating.

“Decent but has some issues”

It is easy to navigate and the user interface is very friendly. Like I faced no trouble using it!

Cons

The rep assigned to our account was not helpful. He never returned calls or emails and was always unavailable when we needed to speak with him.

Paychex Flex is simple to use with a clear interface and well labeled sections for finding any information we need an easy task.

It has its issues but nothing too major that I would like to mention.

It is a great portal for business owners and I love the reporting capabilities.

Honestly it seemed like my account manager was always changing. Every time I reached out I got an email saying I had a new manager.

Their customer support team is amazing and always available when I need. Plus they make timekeeping and payroll seamless.

I just wish the reporting were more user friendly.

I like the app that employees use to log their time. It lets them clock in/out and I can see their location when they punch in/out.

Cons

Well I cannot pull a report that shows punch times and locations. Instead it just shows coordinates, which are completely useless.

Well I really like how easy it is to navigate throughout the app.

It is great that we can handle both time tracking and payroll in one place.

Cons

The app lags a lot and the desktop version is difficult to navigate. And there are way too many steps to process time cards and other tasks which is annoying.

Not only is it simple to use but it is quite detailed and has a native iPhone-compatible app. However these are the basics I believe every software has.

Cons

It is slow and sometimes the changes I made do not fully reflect. Plus time and attendance cards require multiple redundant button pushes to save any changes.

“A good fit for small non-profits”

There is nothing so special about it however the system worked fine for us for payroll services.

I must say it was not the easiest to use. And yes it is decent if you are on a budget but as I said it is not the most user-friendly.

I love how easy Paychex is to use. Also it is user friendly and offers basic to advanced payroll features.

One thing I so not like is the issues I run into when submitting payroll and the lack of communication when errors occur.

Running reports is still a manual process, which can be time-consuming.

Most things are in one place but I wish they would add the option to request time off in the app.

Often I notice that my PTO is listed incorrectly and the menu navigation is not the easiest.

“Wouldn't recommend based on my experience”

Pros

They processed my payroll and taxes on time but unfortunately, they made many errors that took months to correct.

You are assigned an account advisor but you can never contact them directly. You end up playing voice tag with them whenever you have questions. When I called I wanted an immediate answer, but the process took much longer than necessary. If you want an immediate response, you get put on hold to speak to the next available agent who is often less familiar with your account. This increases the risk of getting incorrect information which happened multiple times to me making the correction process even worse. Also at times I need to speak with both a Payroll Specialist and a Time & Attendance Specialist for certain issues but unfortunately, one cannot see what the other sees.

“Not the best but it does the job”

It is simple to process and the platform is ideal for smaller companies. And even though I did not think that it is the most intuitive but still user friendly.

Cons

Customer service is lacking. Like I did not find the reps very helpful as they do not have the knowledge needed to resolve complex issues or system configuration questions.

“Offers great service and flexibility”

Pros

The platform is widely used in the entertainment industry. It allowed my union members to access their paycheck info and W-2s from multiple companies all in one app. The representative for my area was always available and proactive in maintaining customer satisfaction fixing problems when needed.

Cons

It can be tricky to process paychecks for people with different pay structures. Also I feel like the layout could be improved. Plus there are lots of submenus to navigate to adjust specific parameters for each employee. It can be quite confusing.

“Works fine for small businesses”

Pros

I find it fairly easy to set up and use. Also it streamlines searching for reports and forms.

Cons

The terminology for forms under the search function makes it difficult for me to find some reports and forms.

“The best choice in the market”

Pros

Paychex Flex software has streamlined payroll and HR tasks for us with scheduling, new hires, terminations, wage increases and more. Also it is easy to use and works logically. I am happy that it makes employees responsible for ensuring their information and hours are correct.

Cons

It took some of my time in order to understand how to run reports for reviewing OT but I eventually found features I did not know were available, so that was a nice bonus.

I can't think of anything I liked or would recommend about Paychex Flex.

Cons

If I had to pick one thing I say that the system's separate platforms cause a lot of confusion. It is very complicated and leads to reporting and employee record issues. Each part of the system like time and attendance or benefits admin is managed by a different team and platform, creating issues throughout the employee lifecycle. We left the platform four months ago and we are still dealing with the problems caused. Also it did not handle our tax filings properly.

Well I very much like how easy it is to use the reports and submit payroll numbers.

I did not like the customer service at all and there were numerous errors too.
