“solid HR coverage”
Pros
The platform is pretty simple to navigate overall and it includes a module for nearly everything needed to manage an HR department.
Cons
It doesn't go as deep as some other platforms and a few sections could be expanded to offer more features and functionality.

“handy reminders and team features”
Pros
Using Paylocity is very easy. It includes helpful options for reminders, trainings, team or co-worker birthdays and shout-outs and On top of that it's really simple to navigate.
Cons
One downside is that it needs WiFi. If you're trying to use the app to clock in or out during a shift and you happen to be in a dead zone, you won't be able to clock in or out.

“user-friendly app for payroll”
Pros
Whether I am on a computer or using the Paylocity app on my phone, everything looks simple and accessible for just about anyone. We rely on it for company-wide announcements, department training, payroll and even fun activities that help get employees engaged in company events.
Cons
Honestly I don't have any complaints about it. I have worked with other payroll and employee communication systems before and this one has been much more easy to use.

“affordable features and smart insights”
Pros
Paylocity packs in a lot of functionality while still being more affordable than many other systems out there. The platform is simple to navigate and our employees have really enjoyed using it too. From an HR leadership perspective, the data insights and analytics it provides are especially valuable and help a lot.
Cons
there is not much to point to as a downside with Paylocity. If I had to mention one thing, support wait times can sometimes be a bit long when calling in.

“all-in-one HR powerhouse!”
Pros
this has really become the center of our HR operations because it's user friendly, flexible and powerful enough for both HR and Finance needs. The system is very user-friendly across its modules, including Time & Labor, HR & Payroll, Community Hub, Onboarding and Performance. I can handle payroll, run audits, set up cost centers, support benefits, pull reports, manage historical data migrations and build workflows all within one platform. Their customer support has been excellent as well as my AMs respond fast, escalate issues when necessary and help guide me through best practices. Overall it saves me a lot of time every pay cycle and makes complicated tasks feel much more manageable.
Cons
A few parts of the system, such as cost center updates, historical data migration and timecard corrections, can take a little extra time because of the way certain workflows are built. There are also times when backend configuration involves several steps or requires submitting support tickets especially for more complex needs like GL mapping or account alignment. That said Paylocity's support team usually helps resolve those issues pretty quickly.

“responsive support every time”
Pros
Whenever I have needed help, the support from the benefits and service teams has been outstanding. Responses come back quickly and I have been able to get issues sorted out without long delays.
Cons
Keeping up with all the updates can be a bit confusing. I know they send plenty of communication but with a normal workload, it's still hard to stay on top of every change. I am also not very impressed with the reporting analytics. For some of the reports I have needed, I usually end up pulling multiple reports just to get the right data and a lot of it feels like trial and error.

“Reliable service and quick answers”
Pros
Using it has been really easy and the support team has been very helpful. Anytime there's a question about a report or time card details, it gets handled quickly, usually before a short phone call is even over.
Cons
Every now and then, a question about a payroll adjustment creates some confusion and takes longer to sort out. It's typically because the issue isn't something that comes up often so finding the right fix can take a little more time.

“support keeps getting worse...”
Pros
At this point the only positive I can mention is the very limited level of service being provided. Most of the time, we get more excuses than actual solutions.
Cons
Customer support has become incredibly ineffective lately. When we first started using Paylocity, the support team was fast and genuinely helpful. Now it can take 30 minutes just to get a response to a question. If they are unable to resolve it, they submit a service ticket but you rarely hear back or see any results from it.

“all-in-one tools with a vibrant community”
Pros
Having everything consolidated has saved us a lot of time. We recently rolled out the performance module and it's such a relief not to manually send reviews, chase managers for their part or wait around for signed PDFs from everyone involved. Now the whole process happens in one place which has been really nice. It's also a big plus having payroll and time/labor together in the same system. Another feature I really enjoy is the community page. It gives employees a space to cheer each other on and celebrate milestones, whether that's birthdays, anniversaries or recognition posts from coworkers.
Cons
Support with Paylocity has been hit or miss. Sometimes they're helpful but other times they really aren't. They might provide an answer without giving all the important details and that can end up causing bigger issues later. I have lost count of how many responses have started with Unfortunately At this point we've kind of accepted that support is just going to be inconsistent. I'd also mention that the workflows are much more limited and finicky than the sales team makes them sound. Even support seems to acknowledge that part.

“user-friendly payroll platform”
Pros
Using Paylocity has been a positive experience from both the admin side and the employee side. The interface is thoughtfully designed and is easy to navigate. Its modules are fairly quick to pick up and the Help Center offers plenty of self-service guides that walk through workflows step by step which makes learning the system much easier.
Cons
One thing that works as both a benefit and a drawback is how often Paylocity rolls out product updates. I appreciate that they keep improving and expanding their tools but the tradeoff is that some new features or updates can feel a bit patchy at first. In most cases, those issues get worked out within a few weeks of launch and things tend to run fine after that.

“simple layout that users love!”
Pros
One thing I have been hearing consistently from employees is how user-friendly the system feels. A lot of people have said the layout is clean, simple and user friendly so they can move through it without feeling lost or overloaded. Even team members who usually aren't very comfortable with technology have mentioned that they were able to pick it up pretty fast. Overall the response has been very positive and it really seems like the system is delivering what we wanted by making everyday tasks feel more manageable and less stressful.
Cons
On the admin side, though, certain things can be a bit tricky to locate or sort out. The system itself works but some features or settings aren't always placed where you'd naturally expect to find them which means it can take some extra searching. There are times when I have to click through several sections just to find one item or confirm I am in the correct spot. It's not unworkable but it can slow the process down and definitely comes with a bit of a learning curve.

“outstanding support through transition”
Pros
From the very beginning, Paylocity's customer service has been outstanding. When our company moved over from Paycom, their support team really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything in place throughout each stage of the transition. Even after getting up and running, they've continued to be incredibly responsive whenever questions come up and they do a fantastic job helping both our team and our employees get the answers they need to keep things moving.
Cons
Every now and then, updates to the dashboard layout can feel a bit confusing at first. That said after spending a little time navigating it, it usually becomes familiar pretty quickly.

“simple payroll and HR wins”
Pros
Using this HRIS has been a really positive experience for our team. The platform is very user friendly and simple to move through which makes payroll processing much more efficient and smooth. Its clean, attractive interface also keeps users engaged and helps cut down on training time. On top of that it delivers strong value for the cost by pairing functionality with a price that feels reasonable. From onboarding through payroll, the features seem well thought out and built to support day-to-day HR work. Since rolling it out, we've noticed better workflow efficiency and higher employee satisfaction. I'd absolutely recommend it to HR teams that want a dependable, user-friendly system with both strong performance and a polished design.
Cons
One thing that could make the platform even better is having more room to customize certain modules so they fit our specific workflows and organizational needs more closely. A little added flexibility would make an already strong system even more capable. Even with that, we're very happy with it and would still recommend it.

“user-friendly modules, confusing roles”
Pros
Navigating Paylocity is pretty easy and most HR tasks can be handled without much hassle. Most of the modules are user-friendly which makes day-to-day work feel more organized and efficient.
Cons
I'd really like to see stronger improvements to security access management. As a multi-company admin, I have run into a few limitations and sometimes even small changes require contacting Paylocity. The security role tabs also feel overwhelming at times and can be hard to sort through.

“Fantastic all-in-one HR platform”
Pros
After recently finishing our Paylocity implementation, I can honestly say this system has been a game-changer for us. Everything in the platform, from payroll processing and report creation to onboarding new hires and pulling employee records, performs exactly the way it should. The interface is also user friendly, quick and clearly built with real HR workflows in mind. Reporting is flexible, payroll is reliable, onboarding is well organized and locating employee information is very easy too. What really makes Paylocity stand out is how well all of its features work together. The training materials, live guidance from implementation specialists and built-in AI tools made it much easier to get comfortable with such a full-featured system. If you're willing to put some time into the initial setup, you can really take advantage of everything the platform offers.
Cons
Because the system is so comprehensive and includes a lot of modules, there is definitely a learning curve when it comes to understanding how everything connects. That said the trainings, live support calls and AI tools do a lot to make that easier to handle.

“simple tools and helpful ai assist”
Pros
Moving aroung in this tool is pretty easy and user friendly and there's a strong range of articles available when you need answers. The AI Assist feature has been particularly useful, offering guidance and pointing us to relevant articles for additional support.
Cons
We've run into a number of issues with Paylocity, including occasional inaccuracies with time-off accruals and balance transfers. It also doesn't work well for employees in American Samoa which forces us to handle some tasks manually and the EDI setup was not configured correctly. On top of that customer support has room for improvement since resolutions often take a long time even with a dedicated manager and having account managers change so frequently at least three times a year which creates inconsistency. The AI handbook feature also doesn't fit our needs because we maintain two separate handbooks, one for California and one for Multi-State.

“Clean design”
Pros
Right away, the design of the system is thoughtfully done as it is not just visually appealing but genuinely comfortable to work in for long stretches of time. That makes a real difference when you're in the program a lot. The layout is clean and user friendly which also helps employees move through it more easily. Another big advantage is the customization. We've been able to adjust features to match our billing workflows and overall organizational needs and that has been extremely useful and has saved us a lot of time. Customer service is one of my top priorities so having a dedicated, knowledgeable support team that understands how our account is set up means a lot. They've also been reliably responsive and that has a noticeable impact on our day-to-day operations.
Cons
Most of the problems we've run into have been technical hiccups. Employees frequently say they have to type in their login details twice back-to-back which is understandably frustrating. We've also had cases in the Performance module where pasted text doesn't always save the way it should. These issues don't happen all the time but when they do, they disrupt workflow and cause confusion for users.

“powerful tools and active updates”
Pros
Paylocity covers a broad range of needs with its wide product lineup and it's clear they're actively improving the platform. The regular newsletters also do a good job of keeping admins informed about new developments and updates.
Cons
The reporting side is only average as getting the exact data you need usually means running several reports and then combining or reworking them in Excel or Power BI. It would also be better to have more control over the app interface especially the option to hide features and functions our team doesn't use.

“helpful support”
Pros
Using Paylocity has not been a problem and I really like having the Knowledge Base to fall back on whenever I am unsure how to complete something. It covers most of the questions that come up. If I still need help, I can call the Service Center and usually get the answer I need. Their team is also pretty quick with email tickets even when they're still looking into the issue as they at least respond promptly to confirm they received it and are working on it.
Cons
Our implementation experience had a few rough spots. The account manager we started with was in the middle of moving into a new role and that ended up putting us behind right out of the gate because he wasn't able to stay as involved as the rollout required. The replacement account manager was excellent but with the shortened timeline, we couldn't launch the Benefits component alongside the rest of the system which was frustrating.

“organized self-service platform”
Pros
Navigating Paylocity feels much more organized when moving between modules and handling day to day tasks. The support team is responsive and the knowledge base articles make it simple to find answers when questions come up. I also appreciate how much self-service the system gives admins since we can manage configurations ourselves instead of waiting on a Paylocity representative. On top of that the platform is user-friendly for both employees and administrators.
Cons
Reporting in it works well enough but building dynamic reports could definitely be more user friendly. There are also occasional glitches and while it usually responds quickly to help fix them, it would be even better if those issues did not happen in the first place.
