“all-in-one HR favorite”
Pros
It's really convenient having all of our HR functions in one system. The Recruiting, Onboarding and Hire workflow is the part I appreciate the most.
Cons
One frustration is that changes made in HR and Payroll don't always carry over to Time & Labor and the same happens in reverse. You have to keep track of updates and enter them in each area yourself.

“comprehensive HR and payroll standout”
Pros
Compared with many payroll and HCM platforms I have used over the years, Paylocity offers outstanding value for the cost. It's easily the most complete and user-friendly system of the bunch and you can tell a lot of thought went into building something HR teams genuinely want to use. The layout is user friendly, navigation is simple and everyday HR and payroll work feels much more efficient because of it. The payroll and time tracking modules are really the highlight especially since they're both accurate and compliant.
Cons
Even though it includes an impressive set of tools, a little more flexibility in certain areas would make it fit unique organizational needs even better. The Voice module, for instance, is excellent and the dashboard outputs and heat maps look very strong. However because we tailored our survey to match our company culture, we couldn't take full advantage of those dashboards and analytics. The Goals module inside performance is another example. It's a great feature in theory but it would be more useful if it showed the cascading connection between organizational, departmental, team and individual goals more clearly. It would also help if goals were integrated more directly into the performance review form since right now they function separately and have to be entered again during review setup.

“reliable support and solid value”
Pros
Paylocity has covered a lot of our needs. We rely on it for HR tracking, payroll, timesheets, scheduling, performance management, computer-based training and more. It includes a wide range of tools that can support organizations across many industries. When help is needed, getting in touch is usually quick by phone or email and we generally receive answers without much delay. Even when there is not an immediate fix, the team is willing to escalate the issue if the first representative cannot resolve it. Another thing I appreciate is the relatively low turnover on our support team. I usually recognize the people who assist us most often and I really value the experience and knowledge they bring. They know the platform well and I trust that they are doing their best to provide strong support. Cost has also been reasonable compared with other systems. When I reviewed other platforms recently, many of them were nearly twice as expensive. We have been using Paylocity since 2019 and overall we have been happy with it.
Cons
Support can be a little inconsistent at times since the answers sometimes vary depending on which representative you speak with. Because of that, I usually try to reach out to our account manager or the support team members I know best. We have also dealt with more technical glitches over the past year which has definitely been frustrating. At the same time, I realize it is a complex system and resolving some issues can take a while.

“all-in-one hr”
Pros
Having everything in one place has been a huge plus for our HR team. We really love how organized the job posting and onboarding process is. It saves staff a lot of time with quick time card updates, time-off requests and performance tracking. Because of that, people can spend more energy on client needs instead of keeping up with time entries. On the leadership side, the performance management tools have been incredibly valuable. From recognition and shout-outs to addressing performance concerns, the system genuinely makes managing people much more manageable.
Cons
Getting started came with a few bumps, mainly around account manager transitions and some system bugs during the initial setup. That said the team stayed with us through each issue and made sure the fixes were fully resolved. Finding certain reports can also be a bit challenging because there are so many options to sort through but the AI tool and the ability to save reports as favorites have helped a lot.

“A platform that keeps improving”
Pros
Having everything in one place has been a big plus and I appreciate that they keep rolling out updates based on user feedback. The account managers have also been supportive whenever needed. Once the products are set up correctly, several of them have definitely helped me save time.
Cons
A few of the tools take quite a bit of setup and configuration before they're actually ready to use and since I handle HRIS on my own, that ends up creating a lot of manual work for me.

“payroll and taxes handled smoothly”
Pros
Switching to Paylocity was one of the first changes I made after becoming manager and it has been a huge improvement for our small credit union with 7 employees. Their customer service has been wonderful and I usually get a response the same day. The time card integration works really well and compared to doing payroll by hand, this has been a massive time saver. We had moved to Quicken before but I still had to calculate and submit taxes myself by going to different websites and entering everything manually. With Paylocity, that's no longer on me and it has taken a lot off my plate. I honestly would never want to go back to handling payroll manually again. It's very user-friendly and saves me a lot of time.
Cons
Lately, there have been quite a few changes to the system and I am not always sure whether I am missing the communications or if they just aren't clear enough. I have had to figure out several updates on my own and it seems like things keep getting moved around. I understand that change can be a good thing but I do think they could do a better job communicating where features or tools have been relocated. Also, the quarterly reports sometimes feel like they take longer than they should, although that may partly just be my own impatience.

“Powerful tools and helpful updates”
Pros
Using Paylocity is like a piece of cake and the ongoing updates have been genuinely useful. The platform comes with a strong set of features, including expense management, time and labor, performance management, asset management, HSA, flex spending, COBRA support and more. It also does a really good job supporting multi-state setups which is a big plus.
Cons
Customer service tends to fall short when the issue is more complicated. There have been multiple occasions where I was given one answer, only to learn later that it was incorrect or I had to keep following up just to get a clear response. At times, I have even had to go beyond my assigned representative to get the answers I needed.

“all-in-one support for my practice”
Pros
Running a small medical practice means juggling a lot and Paylocity has been really valuable for handling payroll, HR and employee engagement all in one place.
Cons
The only real downside I have noticed is that each payroll cycle takes a few extra clicks to complete. It works reliably but simplifying that part would make a noticeable difference for smaller practices like mine.

“easy to use but support is lacking”
Pros
Paylocity is an excellent HR system. my favorite feature is how easy it is to access and view paychecks. I also love how simple it is to update employee information and clock in and out.
Cons
I am not happy with the lack of support from it. almost everything goes through my HR manager and I wish there was more direct support available from them.

“great for staff communication”
Pros
Our foundation uses this tool for payroll and benefits. It is an essential tool that's very easy to use. also it is a great way to communicate with staff, manage employees and request PTO with access to balances. and it is perfect for accessing paychecks and tax documents as well as sharing training and performance reviews.
Cons
It takes about one full pay cycle for the PTO hours to update to reflect the accurate balance but this is a minor issue.

“Quick help but missing key tools”
Pros
Their support team is quick to respond. The platform is reliable and makes it easy to track employee activity.
Cons
They do not have a way to manage contracts or foreign employees. Their Lms lacks automation features, meaning HR staff have to manually trigger 20-60-90 day plans. The platform also does not have effective tools for tracking employee compliance, so our HR team has to do this outside the HRIs system.

Pros
I liked the feature that allows me to track payroll, see who's in the office with the employee calendar and schedule time off or sick days, all in one place.

Pros
I love how I can set up health insurance and 401k contributions in Paylocity and then just trust it to run. It's so reliable for making sure everything is processed and payments go out without a hitch

Finding the right reports can be tricky. so I feel like it would be helpful to have better filters in the reporting section to make it easier to find what I need.

“Great for tracking time and pto”
Pros
To be honest this is a fantastic tool for tracking employee time cards, vacation days, team management and internal office activities. I have used it for years as a manager and found it extremely useful. I could easily track employee time, make quick adjustments and keep tabs on PTO.
Cons
sometimes editing clock-ins would freeze and I'd have to start the edit process over. This might be due to our slow internet speeds, so I cannot be sure it is a software issue or what.

“payroll automation done right!”
Pros
Handling payroll with Paylocity is very easy and the automated quarterly tax filing is a huge plus. I also appreciate that workers' compensation payments are sent to the vendor automatically which saves time and cuts down on manual work.
Cons
One frustrating part is that customer support can be slow when questions come up. Even though a dedicated rep is assigned to the account, I have never actually spoken with that person. Instead, a different support agent responds each time so it often feels like no one is really familiar with my account.

“useful mobile app needs better training tracking”
Pros
The system offers useful features like mobile app clock-ins with geofencing to ensure staff only clock in on-site as well as a kiosk option. as an administrator, managing direct reports from my desktop has been fantastic.

It would be really helpful if we could track more than just training hours. We're missing a way to record the actual content and specifics of each session.

“excellent peer recognition”
Pros
It is the best. We have also added recruiting tools and a peer-to-peer recognition page. Now I can easily view birthdays, work anniversaries and thank-you messages for a job well done, all right on the same page. In short it is a great way to keep the team connected and celebrated.
Cons
The vacation time balance is still inconsistent so we cannot rely on it. We are still using paper forms for tracking time off.
