“payroll that feels effortless”
Pros
Even without being very confident with accounting, I was able to use this feature without much trouble. The software feels very user-friendly and the customer service has been excellent whenever help was needed. If I can use it successfully, I honestly think just about anyone can.
Cons
The only downside was the adjustment period between the online version and the desktop version. They look completely different so it took a bit of time to get familiar with the change.

“fantastic payroll support”
Pros
Getting payroll sorted out was a quick, simple process and the system felt very user-friendly. Plus customer support was excellent in helping me work through my payroll issues. As they were knowledgeable, patient and spent a big part of the morning assisting me.
Cons
The support has been one of the best parts for me. I have consistently had excellent experiences with the support team and they really feel like the best team to have backing your company.

“Keeps us organized”
Pros
Using this software has made payroll process really simple and has been a huge help in keeping the company organized and on track. Customer support was especially helpful today when sorting out a bank account update issue for me and I came away very impressed.
Cons
Honestly I don't have any real complaints as it's been wonderful. The only minor downside is that customer service wait times can sometimes be a little long but once you get someone, they do an excellent job.

“simple payroll with helpful support”
Pros
QuickBooks Payroll has been pretty amazing and I can handle most updates or changes without much trouble. Whenever I reach out for assistance, the support team is consistently friendly, upbeat and professional.
Cons
One thing I have really wanted is direct access to an actual payroll tax accountant. When an issue comes up, I usually have to explain it to the first person who answers and then they pass the details along to the specialists. That process takes extra time and can sometimes create confusion or miscommunication. On top of that QuickBooks does not file or pay the L&I tax for Washington state so I have to stay on top of that myself and make sure my figures line up with theirs.

“all-in-one payroll convenience”
Pros
Having everything I needed in one system at a reasonable price was exactly what I was after. As a business owner, my biggest priorities were usability, accessibility and automation and this software delivered on all of them and more. The layout is also decent and user-friendly so it's simple to find what I need and I can log in whether I am at home, in the office or out and about using their different apps. Once the setup is done correctly, it pretty much runs without constant attention which saves me a lot of time. My schedule is already packed with client meetings, proposal writing and handling the books so being able to rely on automation like this has been a huge help.
Cons
Getting payroll set up did take quite a while and I needed to have a lot of information ready beforehand. That said I cannot really count it as much of a negative because one of their specialists walked me through the entire process step by step. Honestly she handled most of it while I just entered the information she asked for. She was incredibly thorough and even brought up things I hadn't considered myself. The main advice I'd give is to set aside enough uninterrupted time so you can get through the setup without feeling rushed.

“payroll fixes before deposit”
Pros
One thing that really helps is being able to call QuickBooks Payroll when I make a payroll mistake and have it corrected before the money even reaches our employees' accounts. That has been incredibly valuable. I also appreciate how convenient the payroll summary reports are when I need information for banking paperwork, legal forms or when putting together company budgets.
Cons
The software handles most payroll needs very well and the support team is knowledgeable in many cases. That said when a more complex payroll issue comes up, it can take several calls before reaching the right person who will stay with the issue and continue troubleshooting until it is fully resolved.

“Mobile payroll that delivers”
Pros
Using the mobile app has been a big plus because I can quickly review payroll and make sure my employees are paid on time. I also really appreciate how well timesheets integrate with payroll which makes the whole process much more convenient.
Cons
Honestly I haven't run into any issues. Even support has been excellent as the callback option works really well and they always get back to me within a reasonable amount of time when I need help.

“accessible payroll with responsive support”
Pros
Being able to access the software from anywhere has been a huge benefit. The QuickBooks team is also consistently responsive and usually works to resolve my issue on the first contact.
Cons
At times, the wait to reach customer service has been a bit long but the newer callback feature has saved me a lot of time since they contact me when it's my turn, letting me focus on other parts of running my business.

Pros
I get email reminders whenever it's time to submit my hours and I also receive notifications each time my paycheck is direct deposited. There's a link to my paystub included too which makes everything convenient to track.

“Payroll updates and syncing are excellent”

“payroll handled without the stress”
Pros
It pretty much takes care of everything for me which has made running payroll a lot less stressful. I don't have to worry about W-2s or 1099s and the reminder feature is really helpful too.
Cons
There really hasn't been much to dislike. If I could add one thing, it would be the ability to assign only part of an employee's pay to a specific class. Right now, you can assign the employee to a class but you cannot split portions of their pay across different classes.

“Easy access”
Pros
QuickBooks Payroll is user friendly and customer service was consistently available to walk me through issues whenever they came up. Being able to log in and run payroll from any internet-connected device has also made a big difference in productivity.
Cons
One frustration has been how restrictive the Elite payroll service feels. A lot of the settings and functions I used to handle myself in the Core payroll service are no longer accessible. Instead, I have to contact customer service to make those changes which made the payroll setup process feel confusing and frustrating.

“weekly payroll that really delivers”
Pros
Having weekly payroll included at no added cost has been a big win for my clients especially the smaller S-Corps that aren't used to running payroll regularly. It helps me make sure their money gets into the right account so they don't blur the line between business funds and personal spending. Another thing that has helped a lot is the support when something goes wrong as they do a really good job of guiding me through the interface step by step to fix it. Since I am not a payroll specialist and only manage this for a small group of clients, it's worked out extremely well.
Cons
One thing I really wish were simpler is changing the bank account used for payroll draws. As my clients grow, I often move them from one checking account to a setup where operations and other expenses are separated so eventually I need payroll to pull from a different account. That process is frustratingly difficult. Part of the problem is that the payroll settings live in an odd interface and it can lock up in strange ways when logged in from multiple accounts at once. In those moments, it feels like very outdated software rather than the more modern Intuit experience I'd expect.
