“Fantastic payroll tracking tools”
Pros
Getting QuickBooks Payroll up and running was very easy and it fits really well with the business tasks I need to manage. It makes it simple to stay on top of my costs, work hours, supplies and tax details all in one place. The tax calculator is also very accurate when it comes to estimating tax payments which has been really helpful.
Cons
The pricing is the part I am not happy with. I really don't think it's priced appropriately and it feels like it costs more than it should right now.

“direct deposit works, state offboarding doesn't”
Pros
Getting direct deposit set up is pretty easy, printing checks is simple and it handles all the federal and state tax calculations for you.
Cons
One frustrating part is that not every report was filed with the states. Also, removing a state is a hassle because you have to call support and QuickBooks keeps charging per state until you contact them to offboard it even when you no longer have any employees there.

“all filings in one place”
Pros
Having all payroll filings stored right inside the QuickBooks file is really convenient and it's helpful that copies of everything stay together in one place. It's also nice that upcoming due dates are clearly shown so it's much easier to keep track of what's coming up.
Cons
Even though QuickBooks Payroll simplifies the filing process a lot, the setup has to be done correctly from the start. There's still some homework required on your side to fully understand your obligations since certain taxes, like state unemployment or local taxes, aren't completely handled by QuickBooks.

Getting employees set up is really easy, whether I enter their details myself or have them add the information on their own. Tracking hours daily or weekly is simple and approving time before running payroll has been effortless.

At this point I really haven't come across anything I dislike about QuickBooks Payroll.

“Direct deposit and payroll convenience”
Pros
Having direct deposit built in is really convenient. QuickBooks Payroll also compares the previous paycheck with the current one which helps catch anything that looks off. There's also a time-tracking option available, although with only one employee, I am not really using that feature right now.
Cons
My only complaint is with the payroll tax settings. Even though I have set them to quarterly multiple times, they still appear as monthly and show warnings saying the payment is late.

“quick setup and reliable tax filing”
Pros
Getting started with QuickBooks Payroll was very easy and the setup didn't take much time at all. It has saved a lot of time and reduced a lot of stress thanks to how user-friendly it is and how dependable the tax compliance features are. Setting up each payroll and running it is also very simple.
Cons
One thing that has been frustrating is that there are items on my to-do list that no longer apply to the business but I still cannot remove them. At this point that's really the only issue I have run into with QuickBooks Payroll.

Pros
Getting direct deposit up and running was pretty easy and adding a new employee was just as simple to set up.

“payroll and tax tracking done right”
Pros
Handling payroll with QuickBooks Payroll has been really convenient especially when it comes to importing hours, running payroll through direct deposit, keeping up with taxes and taking care of annual W-2 processing.
Cons
The only downside is that it felt a little pricier than we would have preferred especially for a small nonprofit like ours.

“flexible leave tracking and payroll checks”
Pros
Handling several leave types in one place has been really helpful. Being able to save my work and return to it later is also a big plus. I also appreciate having the option to compare checks against the previous one.
Cons
It could use a bit more flexibility when it comes to tracking other expenses and reimbursements. The reporting features also need more options for customization and a way to save those settings.
