I really appreciate remote positions since I do not have to leave my home and I avoid paying any kind of bus fare or other commuting expenses altogether while working.
Cons
The platform enables unfair pay practices. Many companies listed here don�t pay on time or fairly and some outright mislead workers with inflated salary promises that dont reflect the actual job or pay.

Our team has adopted Remote as our employer-of-record solution and after having partnered with several vendors previously I must say that Remote truly differentiates itself in multiple respects: their support is exceptionally quick, efficient and consistently dependable, the platform itself is simple and simplely designed which organizes employee administration and the pricing is competitive given the quality of the overall offering.
Cons
I felt that the transition from our former provider to Remote could have gone more smoothly while I don't necessarily attribute the hiccups solely to Remote, the sheer number of variables one must manage during a vendor change meant that a few items unfortunately fell through the cracks.

Pros
The mobile app works really well. I was able to do almost everything through it. Plus I found the support team to be really cooperative and well trained. They always help me with any issue that I might be facing. Would definitely recommend it to others.

“Remote employment made convenient with Remote.com”
Pros
Prior to this I had no experience working remotely for a company based in another country and I wasnt exactly sure how things would work or how to handle different country specific work regulations. There were a lot of things that I needed to know. I must say Remote.com really surprised me in this area. They were always there to guide me making sure I understood everything I needed to know like how to use the platform and the paperwork involved starting right from the onboarding process. The platform is really easy to use and its super helpful for keeping track of things like my vacation days, payslips and expenses. I also like that they send out newsletters with updates and tips that are relevant to my location. Ive received quite a few in an year. I really appreciate all the help I got from them over the course of one year. They addressed my reservations and helped me settle into my new role.
Cons
I could definitely point out some areas that need improvement. Asking for personal support on common HR topics is a big one for me. While some of it can be handled by my employer's HR department, most of the time I have to reach out to Remote.com directly. The process isnt very convenient since I have to find the support button, talk to a bot, submit a ticket and then wait for a specialist to get back to me. It is time taking and can take up to a couple of days at times. On the plus side the information I get is usually accurate but the time taken creates a bit of a gap between the problem and the solution. The payslip template I get is another thing that bothers me a bit. It isnt very clear making it harder to understand the individual items that make up my net salary. Not sure but this could be something related to the region since I am situated in Belgium. Hope they look into these isssues.

“Great Remote HR Platform”
Pros
Ive been working as a contractor for CVAT through Remote platform and the payment process has been great. Its easy, smooth and trustable. Submitting invoices is simple and their approval and payout status can be tracked in real time. Payments are always on time and delivered in my local currency with no hidden fees. They also handle tax documentation which takes a lot of the stress out of compliance. Although there were minor delays during busy periods the experience has been very professional and well organized. Would recommend Remote to other companies like Sama, Scale AI, iMerit, Appen and CloudFactory as well as independent contractors working globally for secure and efficient payment processing.
Cons
I havent come across any problems so far. Ive only received helpful emails and information. The experience has been amazing.

“Smooth offshore hiring process”
Pros
We have had a great experience with Remote.com so far. We use it for our international hiring and payroll. Since our company is growing and we have team members across the globe, its getting difficult to manage everything centrally. We needed a trustworthy partner to manage compliance, labor laws and streamline onboarding and Remote has done an excellent job with all of that. Satisfied with its performance.
Cons
We think it should be more affordable and have more pricing tiers especially for new businesses and companies hiring in other countries . Also a mobile application is much needed or atleast a better mobile version. It would make it very convenient for us to manage things on the move.

Hiring and paying team members in different countries without setting up local entities has been made possible with Remote. I find the onboarding process to be pretty simple and the user interface is clean. Another benefit I see is that everything from contracts to payroll is handled in one place. Plus their customer support is always quick to respond as I often need their help understanding local labor laws.
Cons
The platform occasionally takes a bit longer to update the changes I make especially when it comes to benefits or contract adjustments. Although most processes are automated, manual follow up with support is required in few processes and this can take some time depending on the country. Can be quite a slow process in some.

Remote's mobile app is extremely easy to navigate and In my experience presents clear, specific timelines for each payment once it enters the processing stage, it lets me link my bank account through Stripe for withdrawals, creating invoices is simple because Remote provides fields like tracking numbers and other necessary details and as an offshore employee in Colombia I have consistently received my payments on time with notifications when payments are approved, processed and paid.
Cons
Occasionally the email that corresponds to a notification shown in the app fails to reach me simultaneously so I do not always see the alert by email at the exact same time it appears in the application.

Although the platform looks very polished and the product presentation is attractive, they are not, In my experience a genuine HR provider because their execution on actual HR matters was a complete mess and as a result I personally faced significant financial costs and more importantly, lost time that could have been spent on higher-value work. tl,dr: 1) Audit your work calendar first, do you realistically have roughly four hours each week to pursue answers to the problems your remote employees come across ? 2) Are your people completely insulated from financial impact when remote.com mishandles local regulations? If both of those are true for you, then this service might be acceptable.

For our employees who work outside the country, I find the platform very easy to use and simple for their needs.
Cons
I haven't had to terminate any staff through Remote and when we discussed potential terminations the company made it clear that we would need to provide ample advance notice if we intended to coordinate with their team to arrange severance payments, fortunately this requirement hasn't caused any complications for us because I simply haven't had to go through that procedure yet.
