Flexible task editing

Pros

Switching between tasks I've been working on is really convenient and having the option to edit things adds a lot of flexibility.

Cons

The bar that stays at the bottom is the part I don't care for especially on smaller screens like 13-inch or 15-inch displays where it takes up too much space. It would be much better if there were a way to customize it.

Easy to use on iPhone

Pros

Using it on my iPhone has been really easy. I can start or stop tracking tasks and projects in just a few taps and the search feature in the mobile app makes it simple to pull up tasks I've used before.

Cons

The desktop reports are very detailed and powerful. It would be nice to have some of those reports added to the mobile app too, such as a daily time summary.

keeps us aligned

Pros

Week after week, using this time tracking software has been a really positive experience. It does a nice job of keeping everything organized and making sure everyone stays aligned.

Cons

Honestly there's not much to complain about. The interface has improved year after year and the branding has also gotten better. Overall it's been very well done.

Superb screenshot feature

Pros

I really appreciate the payment integration and the screenshot feature is also very useful.

Cons

Mass payment through PayPal still isn't approved in my country but I'm hoping that gets resolved soon.

It's really useful that I can customize the features and control exactly what the client gets to see.

Cons

One thing that still bothers me is not being able to turn off certain items in the client report especially the activity tied to screenshots.

Amazing reminders

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is that it sends reminders whenever I'm working on job-related tasks. It also automatically stops the timer and gives me the option to confirm whether I was actually working or not.

Cons

there isn't a free version available for individual users.

Helpful insight into workdays

It's really useful being able to go back and see exactly how my employees are spending their day.

if employees want to have Time Doctor on their phone, they also need permission to make changes to their time.

Clear tracking with helpful visuals

Pros

The desktop interface is simple, the app runs fast and the diagrams are really useful. It makes the whole process clear for everyone involved.

Cons

support replied with very brief answers which wasn't very helpful. After I reached out again, they started taking the issue seriously and resolved it. I still think it would be better if their support responses included video explanations.

Awesome integration with Workflow Max

Pros

The daily and weekly reports are one of my favorite parts. Even when I'm away on business, I can still see exactly what's going on. The integration with Workflow Max is also something I really appreciate.

Cons

I honestly don't have any real complaints, though I'd still love to see even more reporting options added.

Pros

Keeping track of time with it is convenient and the interface is simple to work with. The timesheets are easily the strongest feature because they give a clear overview of working hours. On top of that, it comes with several other tools that make it practical for both employers and employees.

Cons

The way break time is recorded feels too short which can become frustrating for people who work across different systems or spend time in discussions.

Solid value for money

Pros

Time Doctor has a lot going for it. Setting up new projects and tasks is quick, starting and stopping time takes just one click and moving between tasks is really simple. I can run reports, adjust logged time and clearly see exactly how long I'm spending on each task. Honestly there's very little not to appreciate here. I used to track everything by writing my time down manually which was a hassle and this makes the whole process much more convenient. It also feels like a really solid value for the price.

Cons

I honestly don't have anything I dislike about Time Doctor. If I had to suggest one improvement, I'd love to see automatic phone time integration added. It would be really helpful if the software could pull in how long I spent on calls with a specific client instead of making me enter that time by hand.

Poor customer treatment

Pros

I'm extremely dissatisfied and already asked them to shut down the account.

Cons

The staff member I dealt with was rude and dismissive. I would never treat a customer that way. If a business doesn't trust its customers, it shouldn't be operating like this.

Accurate daily hour tracking

Pros

They value privacy

Pros

The desktop screenshot feature has been really useful for keeping an eye on whether employees are actually working. It gives us that visibility without being invasive especially since it doesn't rely on webcams so there's no real loss of privacy.

Cons

it can't track activity when an employee switches to using their mobile phone for a while. It would be a very valuable addition if desktop and mobile activity could be synced together for each employee.

Fantastic reminder feature

Pros

Right away, the usability stood out to me especially how simple it is to track different projects for different clients. The reminder feature is also really helpful because it alerts me when I've spent too much time away from work and keeps me on track.

Cons

One part that feels a little awkward is adding manual time. It's hard to enter an exact time when you have to scroll through every single minute of the day. It would be much faster if the time entry were separated into hours and minutes.

Jira sync is incredible

Pros

One of the biggest benefits for us is how well Time Doctor connects with different project management tools. We use JIRA and that integration works really well. It's also useful to see exactly what tasks my contractors are spending time on, how long they worked and where that time went. The payroll feature is another plus because both my contractors and I can clearly see what they've earned and what they'll be paid in the next pay period. That gives me a better sense of whether they're putting in enough time and focusing on the right work.

Cons

The one thing I'd really want is the ability to create custom integrations or plugins. It would be much better to tailor how Time Doctor works for our needs instead of having to wait until a feature I want gets added by the platform.

Accurate tracking for design work

Pros

Working in graphic design means I need a reliable record of the time spent on each project and this app does that really well. It's simple to use, very accurate and I really appreciate how neatly the projects are organized. The desktop-to-mobile functionality is also a big plus. Time Doctor helps me stay on top of everything I'm doing, makes quoting projects much easier and keeps my schedule organized. It's been very valuable.

Cons

desktop interface could definitely look a bit nicer. It would also be useful if tasks could be sorted in alphabetical order.
