Outstanding for remote teams

Pros

Managing remote workers has been much better with this tool than with anything else I've tried. It was very simple to set up and start using and it includes everything I need plus a bit more.

Cons

It only occasionally runs into a bug and when that happens, the support team resolves it quickly.

Can customize reminder settings

Pros

The reminder settings are really customizable which helps a lot when a project runs longer than expected or when we forget to start tracking again after coming back from a break.

Cons

I've run into a few crashes after updating the operating system.

Ability to export data

Pros

The interface is very simple to control and it gives a solid overview of activity quality across projects for the selected time period. Being able to export the data is also really useful.

Cons

One thing that could be better is finding an existing task since it can lead to creating the same item again when you're trying to avoid duplicates.

Cons

It would help a lot if there were tutorial videos for staff so I wouldn't need to walk everyone through it myself during teleconferences.

Helps monitor productivity of remote team

Pros

Keeping tabs on how much time I spend on each project has been really helpful. It also gives me a good way to monitor the productivity of my remote team members.

Cons

Pros

Managing a remote staff has been much simpler with this tool since I can clearly monitor their activity and stay on top of task management.

Everything is automated

Pros

Having this in place keeps me on time. On top of that, if I do arrive late to the office, I feel better knowing my manager does not have to call me out about it. Everything is automated and by the end of the month I can clearly take responsibility for my own attendance and performance.

Cons

The auto break feature can be inconvenient especially when I am discussing something on the floor or listening to my supervisor.

Love the screenshot feature

Pros

The screenshot feature has been the biggest advantage for us. As remote freelancers, it's really the only proof we can show clients that work is actually being done and that alone makes it incredibly valuable. On top of that, the way reports are generated is very useful and the app's flexibility makes it even better to work with.

Cons

One limitation is that the Request for Payment option is only available in US dollars. It also doesn't include an invoicing feature which would make it much more complete.

works on Windows and iPhone

Pros

Having it available on both Windows and iPhone has been really convenient. It's also customizable which makes it fit different workflows nicely. The reminders and screenshot features are useful and the detailed reports give a clear view of how time is being spent.

Cons

It would be better with calendar reminder integration and I do miss having a built-in Pomodoro timer.

Pros

Handy mobile time tracking

Pros

Working at a client site, being able to track my time from the mobile app is really convenient and helps me stay on top of my hours.

Essential for online businesses

Pros

Running an outsourcing business, I can't overstate how essential Time Doctor has been. Before we brought in Agile and Time Doctor a couple of years ago, I assumed my programmers were putting in 40 hours but the software showed they had only logged 22 in their first week. Since then, I've been using Time Doctor alongside Jira for proper scrum and agile management and it plays a huge role in keeping everyone accountable. It has been especially helpful for our telemarketers and admin team as well.

Cons

All in all, I've had a very positive experience with Time Doctor. There really aren't many downsides that come to mind because it delivers on what it promises. If I had to point to one thing, I'd say I wish the poor time usage reports allowed more control over the sensitivity settings.

Better project time visibility

Pros

One thing that really stands out with Time Doctor is how clearly it shows where your time actually goes. Time is such a valuable resource but once you get deep into projects, it's hard to notice how long certain tasks are really taking. Time Doctor helps make that visible so you can see which projects are using up your time and decide whether you need to adjust things or keep going as planned with your work.

Cons

Time Doctor integrates well with most major project management tools which is a big plus but it's not completely there yet. I still haven't been able to successfully set up my subdomain in a way that hides the Time Doctor subdomain from clients when they log in to review tracked time.

Excellent time tracking for part-timers

Pros

Tracking time for part-time staff has been excellent with this software.
