“My experience with ultipro
Pros
Honestly, the interface feels so smooth and is really easy to get around. I find it great for managing timesheets and there are lots of ways to make it work how I want. The homepage walks me through the basics and I can quickly personalize that dropdown menu in the upper-left corner.
Cons
One thing that annoys me: if I forget to pick an hour type , like training or sick leave before saving a timesheet, everything I added since the last save disappears. It would be far better if the app popped up a reminder about missing fields instead of wiping out my entries. Also, there's a handy minutes-to-decimal conversion chart on the homepage but it's missing from the actual timesheet entry page where I need it most. I end up saving one day, leaving to consult the chart, then coming back to enter the next day's hours, which is a constant issue.

I can pull up my pay stubs and all the associated details almost instantly whenever I need to check them.
Cons
When I went through open enrollment last year it felt pretty confusing and the whole process didn't run as smoothly as we had expected it would.

“Good reports but not functional

the reporting tools really stand out and I can generate much more insightful and professional reports than what we were able to produce with our old system.
Cons
Although the training they offer is thorough, we found it hard to complete everything during the initial setup phase. On top of that, several features our team had been promised for the launch were either postponed or, frustratingly, simply weren't available yet.

Pros
I really value the flexibility offered when I set up custom fields , it allows me to capture data that most other platforms simply don't support. Having the ability to share feedback and propose software improvements is especially helpful and I've also found the networking events and connections that come with it to be excellent.
Cons
FMLA tracking is rather restrictive in my experience , currently we're only able to flag employees as out and I wish there were additional features to make it genuinely practical for handling leave management comprehensively.

“Great login but bad onboarding

I really like that everything is tied together under a single sign-on. The layout is smooth and I find it helpful that identical data fields show up across various areas , it makes getting around the app feel simple and consistent.
Cons
The onboarding and recruiting modules have been a major source of frustration for me. On paper they're solid but the latest releases seem to have missed a few important details that matter to our workflows. ever since the company added the new employment eligibility feature, I noticed it broke our ability to view incoming hires in the onboarding area and we've been fighting that bug for over a month now. It's really embarrassing because these kinds of issues during our first six to seven months on the platform reflect poorly on my team and on me when I present to the executive group, especially since I personally championed this vendor and pushed for adoption.

“Great tools that sometimes change
Pros
I truly value the in-depth training they offer and the customer support team is consistently available whenever I need assistance. Having access to smooth self-service tools really simplifies tasks and being part of a community with other high-performing customers gives me useful perspective and ideas. it looks and feels modern and is easy to use , whether I'm using it as an end user, managing a team or working as staff everything seems to flow naturally. The reporting functions are especially strong and provide all the metrics and insights I rely on.
Cons
Occasionally after their updates I find that features I'd grown accustomed to are removed or behave differently which I find quite annoying. Also, the modules for compensation and recruiting could use greater flexibility and more capable features if they're going to handle real-world needs effectively.

I am really impressed by the wide assortment of tools included, since they provide me and my team with lots of different options to choose from when working, however, getting all of the components configured behind the scenes demanded a surprising amount of time and effort.
Cons
For our organization, administering this platform meant we needed someone with real technical know-how, which becomes a headache when there's no in-house IT support. eventually we had to hire an HRIS specialist to manage the system full-time and that was an unexpected expense we hadn't planned into the budget.

this platform keeps ahead in HR and payroll features. Frequent updates have really smoothed workflows for our team and I value that the vendor stays current with changing employee rules and tax laws. It gives me real reassurance that I won't be losing sleep over compliance problems, since they take care of all those obligations for us.
Cons
every so often I wish the software offered more granular control over certain features but we chose the mid-market hosted package instead of the enterprise tier. Had we gone with the enterprise edition I'd have gotten the flexibility that suits our small, independent setup much better.

Before we had any HRIS in place, adopting this system has felt like a huge step forward for our team. I can now record everything digitally and produce meaningful reports which has really changed how we operate. The way it links with our other systems also functions very smoothly overall.
Cons
I do notice clear gaps in functionality where the developers haven't yet aligned the product with what users genuinely require. I've also faced fairly serious issues with customer support, in my view this seems tied to rapid company growth and they appear to be having trouble getting newly hired support staff adequately trained right now.

I'm pleased with pretty much everything about this platform. Before we adopted it we didn't have a real ATS so moving over has been a game-changer. Applicants tell me it's far easier to use than the system I used previously at Kenexa Brass Ring. New hires sail through the onboarding steps and the BI analytics are especially helpful, offering meaningful insights that really inform our decisions.
Cons
I can't think of many real downsides. What bugs me most is the way integrations with external job boards are handled , they could be much more simple and inexpensive. We paid steep setup fees, which felt disproportionate given the relatively small number of roles we typically have open at any one time.

Pros
Reporting tools are exceptionally capable even with only basic skills, I'm able to put together detailed reports without much effort. Once you get more advanced, the depth of detail possible is outstanding. What I especially like is that they made table setup simple, giving a clear interface instead of making me link multiple tables by hand.
Cons
If you lack on-site IT support, I find some of the more advanced features difficult to manage on my own, although they do offer assistance services to help close that gap.

It is extremely capable for handling HR and payroll tasks and its level of configurability is remarkable, reducing our need to develop custom solutions. Ultimate Software feels like a genuine collaborator , they consistently support us in squeezing every bit of value out of the platform.
Cons
Sometimes the company moves so quickly that they push out new products before they're fully baked. I get frustrated when I'm ready to adopt the newer technology only to find it lacks features that existed in the older releases.

What really wows me are the business intelligence capabilities and honestly, the customer support here outperforms every other provider I've tried and I've evaluated at least five different platforms. even the process of setting up and configuring it went far more smoothly than I expected going in.
Cons
I've run into a few limitations in the system versus other vendors, especially around storing contractor records and some workflow capabilities. That said, in my experience those constraints are relatively minor overall.

It is easy to use and quick to pick up. The interface has a clean, polished, very professional look. What truly impresses me is the level of customization , I can tailor almost everything to match our exact business needs. Deploying new features across various departments and different employee levels has also been quite smooth.
Cons
The time-tracking tool works well enough but in my experience it's noticeably clunkier than the rest of the system. It does the basic job, yet the user experience feels dated and awkward. I've heard there's a refresh planned so I'm eager to see how they'll refine that area.

It is really helpful to access all the information I need across the different areas. Most of the time I can answer my own questions without having to contact HR. Viewing paystubs and related details is straightforward , no more back-and-forth emails with our HR team. It's extremely convenient, honestly!
Cons
For me, the navigation feels somewhat clunky. I eventually got used to it but the layout could definitely be far more smooth. I do appreciate the headings and subheadings, yet the overall structure still makes it harder than it should be to find what you're looking for.

The real-time payroll processing has been a total game changer for me , I no longer have to sit around waiting forever for calculations to finish which saves a ton of time.
Cons
I find the paycheck account reconciliation incredibly annoying. Back when we used our old provider, they'd pull one lump-sum debit per payroll to cover everything but this platform doesn't have that option. Instead, each individual check withdraws straight from our bank account which has forced us into a lot more manual work , honestly it feels like a step backward.

When management suddenly needs something specific on short notice, tracking down the exact data for quick BI reports can be tough. I don't always have the luxury of time to assemble custom reports from scratch when there's pressure for immediate results. Fortunately, I've found that digging through the library of pre-built BI artifacts usually saves the day , more often than not there's already a report that fits my needs exactly. It genuinely feels like the developers anticipated common reporting requests so we don't have to reinvent the wheel every time.
