Volunteer-friendly data entry

Pros

The simple data entry makes it possible for volunteers in our program to help the agency with this part of the work.

Cons

Merging duplicate client records can be a bit challenging.

Not difficult to learn

Pros

I really appreciate the problem this solves. Some families do try to receive the same help from multiple places and that becomes a real issue during Christmas when several agencies may be assisting them at once. Having this in place helps prevent that and allows support to be distributed more fairly to more families.

Cons

Using the software isn't hard but it can take a bit of time. When a family isn't already in the system, I have to enter all of their information first before I can add them to CharityTracker.

Organizes everything well

Pros

Keeping track of client data is very easy with this software and it really helps organize everything efficiently.

Cons

The dashboard looks a bit overwhelming at first which could discourage some users from exploring and using all of its features.

Sharing clients cuts duplication

Pros

Being able to share clients with other providers has really helped reduce duplication of services.

Cons

One thing missing is a place to indicate whether a client is a veteran.

Well laid out software

Pros

Connects well with other organizations

Pros

I really appreciate how well it connects with other organizations and helps document Bridges out of Poverty data collection clearly.

Cons

I do wish it offered deeper integration with some of the other software I still need to use.

Wonderful ROI integration

Pros

I find it easy to use and the collaborative setup works really well for our team. The ROI integration is also a strong feature and adds a lot of value. One thing that would make it even better is built-in electronic signature functionality since we had to bring in another software tool for that.

Cons

Many agencies already rely on their own software so this was not very attractive to them unless it could connect with the systems they already use. In our situation, we also need real-time visibility into which agencies have openings. Even though CharityTracker shows all agencies, we still have to call each one to find out who can currently serve our clients.

Keeps getting upgraded

Pros

It connects well with multiple agencies. The bulletins and alerts are really useful for keeping everyone informed. The platform keeps getting upgraded and improved which shows they're continuing to invest in it. On top of that, the support has been excellent whenever help is needed.

Cons

The only real challenge is getting everyone to actually give it a chance and start using it. Other than that, I honestly don't have any negatives to mention.

Limited reporting

Pros

Getting around the software is fairly user-friendly and most of the tools available on our account are self-explanatory and simple to understand.

Cons

We can't generate strong, reliable reports from the system which makes it much harder to share statistics and show our overall impact. On top of that, the price jumps quite a bit when adding additional users at the same time. I can understand the reasoning behind it but it still doesn't work very well for our program's needs.

Time saving tool

Pros

Being able to send out a request for help for clients so quickly is one of the best parts of it. It cuts down a lot of the time that would normally be spent calling different agencies one by one to find support for someone.

Cons

Entering all of the information can take some time.

Minimal learning curve

Pros

Easy to manage and I was able to use it with very little training. The interface feels user-friendly and didn't take much time to get comfortable with.

Cons

The total points aren't calculated automatically when scanning purchased items. When a client has a lot of items, it can be hard to add up the points because it's easy to lose your place while scrolling.

Quick staff onboarding

Pros

Getting everyone started on the system was very simple. We were able to train our entire staff quickly and without any problems.

Cons

Since we started using it, we really haven't run into any issues. Whenever questions have come up, the support team has responded quickly and has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the system.

Fast data entry

Pros

Its so userfriendly and the drop-down menus make data entry really fast.

Cons

One limitation is in the assistance field, where documents can only be saved to an assistance episode. It would be better to have a separate tab just for documents.

A blessing for smaller organizations

Pros

The biggest benefit has been the stronger collaboration and data sharing it creates between community organizations serving vulnerable people. It gives us a much broader view of each client's situation, including relationships, demographics and history. It's an excellent tool for tracking detailed information about services provided to community members and it has truly been a blessing for smaller organizations.

Cons

Some smaller churches and organizations were hesitant to invest the time needed to learn and use the software. In many cases, the age of their volunteers or staff played a major role in that reluctance.

Has made the process faster

Pros

Doing volunteer work with it has made a real difference. When clients come in needing help, it makes the whole process much simpler and quicker to handle.

Cons

The transition from the old system to CharityTracker was the hardest part.

Decent product

Pros

Being able to quickly cross-check whether a client is already in the system is a plus. There's also a solid amount of information available which makes it easier to stay informed when you need details.

Cons

even though information gets entered into the system, it often isn't looked at again later. Also, if your church or organization isn't connected with other groups providing benevolent assistance, the platform doesn't offer as much value.

Pros

Its quite simple to get the hang of. It's flexible, offers plenty of options and the customer service has been excellent whenever questions or concerns come up.

Pleased with it

Pros

Being able to update CT users about when we're open and what we need has been really useful and I've been very pleased with that part of it.

Cons

The only inconvenience is having to attend a class just to get a CT login.
