“The Best in Practice Management
Pros
IntakeQ offers everything a clinician could need, no matter the budget. I have no complaints about their services. Whenever I have a question, their customer support is excellent and typically responds within 24 hours. The platform has tons of features and is more affordable than many of the bigger brands out there.
Cons
This software is nearly perfect. I do wish it had note entry options to select from, but given how affordable it is and all the features it offers, I'm pretty satisfied with intakeQ.

“Management Made Easy
Pros
I love IntakeQ and all its automated features. If I ever feel like something's missing, their team is always open to suggestions, and their support is incredible! It makes the daily operations run smoothly.
Cons
Like with any software, sometimes it acts up, but you can usually figure things out fairly quickly.

“A Pretty Good System Overall
Pros
I liked how flexible the payment options were which allowed me to structure them to meet my specific needs.
Cons
I was not too impressed with how the recurring payments feature is set up. It could have been more intuitive in some ways.

“Useful features but not user-friendly
Pros
I am really impressed with how simple it is to tailor care plans, the weight tracking charts and howeasybilling is. I haven't tested the virtual visit capabilities yet, so I cannot comment on them but they seem promising. The messaging feature runs smoothly.
Cons
There's definitely a bit of a learning curve when I am getting used to the software. The video guides and tutorials, however, have been very useful for figuring out how to navigate Intake Q. Honestly my only gripe is that it could feel a little moreuser-friendly.

“The toyota of ehrs
Pros
Almost everything about this platform impresses me. It feels like a well designed system focused on clinicians needs, sort of the Toyota of EHRs. The interface looks modern and is simple to navigate. Making custom changes issimpletoo and the features work wonderfully. After months of searching for an EHR I heard from peers that I would end up using Simple Practice. They were mistaken and I am so relieved I followed my gut. because I feel like there had to be a better, affordable option. IQ turned out to be that option.
Cons
There is at times no live support and alerts lack two-way communication for example, when I send a reminder to a colleague I cannot tell if they opened it, nor can they officially 'sign off' when the task is finished. We also had to put together quite a number of workarounds to workaround some bugs around attaching treatment notes to outgoing claims through the Office Ally integration. Despite those headaches, IQ was responsive, patiently collaborated closely with our team and ultimately helped us resolve the issues so we could move forward.

“Perfect for solo wellness practice
Pros
Being a solo practitioner concentrated on wellness and offering limited services, I wanted a program that would let me do online patient scheduling, record visit notes, accept credit card payments and handle some insurance billing and HIPAA-compliant communication. Many systems that claim to offer those functions are overloaded with features and built for practices with a front desk and support staff rather than a single clinician. IntakeQ gave me everything I needed in a much simpler format that mostly centers on building your own forms and rules. The setup walkthrough and the in-app help explain pretty much anything you might wonder about. A bonus for me was the ability to share documents and create journals for patients to fill out which solved a problem I had when seeing people via telehealth. It does take some time to refine the visit notes because it doesn't come with the typical physician templates out of the box, yet I am still tinkering to build my ideal template. They added a snippet feature so I can store reusable text like a lung exam and I can duplicate a previous note and only change what's new. Some alternatives look nicer cosmetically but miss critical functionality. IntakeQ may not be flashy but it covers all the essentials I need. It behaves the same on a phone without needing an app download. After trying at least five other programs, this one felt the mostuser-friendlyto me.
Cons
The patient portal and the emails could be streamlined a lot more. At times patients receive as many as three separate emails for different steps tied to an appointment which is confusing. It would be much better if patients could complete consent forms and intake information during the appointment booking process instead of having to do that afterward. I also wish there was an easy way to pull journal and intake responses directly into a visit or SOAP note. It would help if they added features useful to more advanced practitioners, such as lab integration or the ability to insert pictures into notes. I haven't submitted a claim yet, so I am not certain how smooth the claims process will be.

“easy navigation with save feature
Pros
Overall I find the software prettysimpleto navigate and I really like that I can save my progress and pick up where I left off later.
Cons
One thing I wish the platform offered is the ability to pre-populate portions of client forms for example, auto-filling fields when I need an ROI for a specific provider.

“Simple document editing and distribution
Pros
One thing I really like is how simple it is to edit our documents and to distribute them to clients. we rely on IntakeQ to send new-client forms and paperwork out before their initial appointment which makes intake much smoother.
Cons
Several of my clients have told me they find the platform awkward on smartphones and not very mobile-friendly which has caused some frustration when they try to complete forms on the go.

“Inexpensive but unacceptable identification
Pros
It was inexpensive andsimpleto use but I found it not worth the headache.
Cons
I discovered the system identifies patients solely by their first name and an email address and I think thats completely unacceptable for medical patient identification. When I contacted the company about this I was told there was no way to change it and that we cannot rely on full name and birth date which is the standard safeguard used in healthcare to make sure you're matching records to the right person. What's worse, I ran into a real-world scenario where a parent booked an appointment for a child using the parent's email and the same first name appears on both records and the system assumed the child was the parent and overwrote the parent's information. In my experience this makes the application utterly unusable as it feels thoughtless and it will put me through a lot of unnecessary stress trying to futilely untangle the resulting data-management nightmares. I even spoke to tech support and they confirmed it is hardcoded with no workaround, so from my point of view it is completely useless for clinical use. Seriously user beware.

“Solid for forms and esignatures
Pros
When running my practice, I find IntakeQ to be a solid choice if you're looking for a platform to store forms and records while letting both staff and clients sign documents electronically.
Cons
That said, I do find the software a bit tricky to navigate until you fiddle with it for a while and I had trouble locating documents that the manager had stored. It would really help if there were notification settings to alert me when a document gets signed, so I don't have to log in constantly to check.

“Forward forms for contactless check-in
Pros
What I really like is that we can forward every required form to patients so they can complete them before their appointment. The streamlined check-in process makes the system much easier to use and the contactless option has been especially useful given recent events. Also, Intake automatically attaches the completed forms straight into each patient's chart.
Cons
I wish the schedule could be synchronized from Rev into Intake so we wouldn't have to manually enter every single patient into the system.

“Incredibly Customizable with Great Support
Pros
I have found this software incredibly customizable it genuinely can be adapted to do whatever we need it to and the customer support has been amazingly helpful during our switchover.
Cons
We're finding that because it is so flexible, the setup has taken much longer than expected and we've needed a significant amount of help from the company to configure it to our exact needs. This has made the migration from our former software lengthy and occasionally bumpy but ultimately it is been worth the trouble!

“Excellent Solution for Document Sharing
Pros
I have found IntakeQ to be an excellent solution for sharing and receiving documents between my staff and clients as it makes exchanging filessimpleand reliable. Especially during a pandemic, moving workflows online is clearly the safest route and this tool supports that. I can even build a simple health-check form so everyone can evaluate how they're feeling which helps keep anyone who's unwell at home and lowers the risk of COVID-19 and its variants spreading.
Cons
Personally, I haven't come across any real drawbacks to using this service. For me it is crucial that, as a group, we can communicate clearly and efficiently and this platform supports that goal while helping to minimize health risks at a time that's both stressful and worrying like during a worldwide pandemic by enabling remote interactions and informed decision-making.

“Smooth path from signup to booking
Pros
We've been able to fit this into our workflow quite easily, honestly. I am really pleased that we can now offer clients a much smoother path from signing up with us straight through to booking an appointment which feels like a real improvement.
Cons
At first I ran into a few problems getting it to display the exact elements we required. After talking with a number of customer service representatives, I came away with the impression that what we wanted might not be achievable.

“Pleased with integrated fax and booking
Pros
Since January 2020 I have been using IntakeQ after getting fed up with the platform I had before. Finding this one was a relief and honestly I couldn't be more pleased with the switch. Because I was already using SRfax, the fact that IntakeQ integrates with that fax service made the transition easier. It does take a little while to tailor every setting to my workflow but the time invested pays off and customer support responds quickly and helpfully. What I really appreciate is that booking, billing and the EMR are bundled into a single system. Sending faxes with notes to doctors' offices, getting them back and attaching them to the correct patient chart is quick andsimple. From my phone I can book appointments, check incoming faxes and review notes without hassle. I can also send automated intake forms before a patient's first visit along with customizable forms, including a COVID screening, before every appointment. And there are plenty of other useful features too!
Cons
Although their customer support is prompt and usually handles what I need, they rely almost entirely on email communication which can be frustrating when I just want to speak to someone. If it is important, they'll arrange a phone call but email is definitely the default channel they use for addressing questions.

“Extremely helpful for client documents
Pros
I have found this tool extremely helpful for organizing client documents and intake information. What stands out most to me is the feature that shows whether a form has been opened and subsequently signed.
Cons
For me, I haven't run into any major issues yet. The main drawback is that designing and building forms can feel a little daunting at first due to the learning curve.

Pros
I am really pleased with the variety of templates they offer it was fairlysimpleto get started, comes packed with useful features and has been a solid way for me to create intake forms specifically for my business.
Cons
However, I ran into issues with items not saving correctly and I found it somewhat tricky to customize for my niche business needs. plus it didn't include every template I was hoping to find.

“User-friendly with outstanding support
Pros
After testing three other reputable platforms over the past two years, we ultimately consolidated all of our therapist software tasks with IntakeQ. I am really impressed by how user-friendly it is, the OUTSTANDING customer support, plus the flexibility, feature set and the affordable pricing.
Cons
I wish there were a way to do email marketing directly inside the system instead of only being able to export my clients' email addresses.

Pros
it is very user-friendly and exactly what I needed I appreciate that it doesn't include a ton of features I'll never use that would only get in my way.
Cons
I honestly cannot come up with any complaints as my experience using it has been very positive overall.
