“BlackBoard Learn is a Relic of a Bygone Era
Pros
BlackBoard Learn stands as a reliable tool for basic communication content collection and assessments. Its convenience factors such as the ability to copy materials are countered by surpassing capabilities of other platforms. The attractive price point along with dependable customer support adds to its appeal.
Cons
Performing tasks on BlackBoard Learn requires significantly more clicks and testing compared to rival products. The design is clunky and does not align well with instructional delivery and learningdesign preferences.

“Blackboard Learn did the job
Pros
A notable feature of this software is the immediate availability of test grades upon completion unless it's an essay format.
Cons
Navigating this software can be tricky and not visually appealing. There is a lot going on with it and it isn't always intuitive. It seems busy and tricky to navigate with a fair amount of downtime for maintenance in the middle of the night which is when college students typically complete their work.

“True and Tried but also Tired
Pros
Despite the transition to Canvas Blackboard remains a familiar easily operated and featurerich platform with regret for the switch.
Cons
The GUI for our version of Blackboard appears extremely dated resembling a late GeocitiesFark.com era. Despite this there is an acceptance of its functionality over aesthetics which is a tradeoff made with Canvas. The BB Gradebook remains a considerable hassle being slow tedious to adjust difficult to manage and userunfriendly.

“Fine product needs updating
Pros
Consolidating assignments documents and grades in one place is a valuable aspect of Blackboard reducing the need for excessive paper distribution. The mobile app's push notifications for grades and upcoming assignments add convenience.
Cons
Glitches have been noticed using Blackboard with the UI on the computer being outdated and counterintuitive in some ways for both students and instructors. The online service differs significantly from the app version which can also pose a problem. The online UI needs an update to align more with the app.
