“transforms remote teacher mentoring
Pros
With this tool I can watch my student teacher's lessons and give targeted feedback using a rubric aligned to the Teacher Performance Expectations which makes evaluating specific competenci s easy because it removes geographic constraints, I can support and mentor candidates remotely and I'm genuinely enthusiastic about it.
Cons
There aren't any real complaints from my perspective, although I've worked with Edthena before and I tend to favor the level of customer support and the overall simplicity of that platform's interface which I find easier to navigate.

“Timestamped insights for precise evaluations
Pros
For me this tool has proven to be an invaluable tool, delivering timestamped scoring data that lets me pinpoint moments precisely and it helps me to provide feedback aligned with the teacher performance expectations rubric which itself uses a helpful color-coding scheme.
Cons
Personally, I haven't run into any real downsides when using this, I find it easy to navigate and whenever I've needed assistance the support team has been responsive and effective.

“Simple uploads with guided steps
Pros
Using it felt simple and easy and I could upload both documents and recordings without any hassle, while it also provided clear step-by-step directions and sent individual invites for each student at their designated review time.
Cons
I didn't come across any problems when viewing or evaluating the student teachers videos, since playback and assessment features functioned reliably and made the review process simple.

“easy recording sharing through canvas
Pros
I really valued how this tool enabled my musicianship students to upload and share recordings of their performances for our remote classes because the platform effectively rescued those sessions when we couldn't hold in-person meetings furthermore its Canvas integration worked flawlessly and significantly simplified the assessment process for me.
Cons
From my perspective, I found there were virtually no drawbacks for how I used the tool, if any at all, making it hard to point to meaningful negatives in my workflow.

“Smooth canvas integration
Pros
At our college we rely on this tool for both our online and in-person classes and since my institution uses Canvas as the LMS, the way this tool integrates with Canvas has been completely simple, setting up assignments through the tool is easy and takes very little time. Our main goal with it is to help students develop their American Sign Language abilities, so learners upload a recorded assignment into their this tool account and instructors insert timestamped video comments throughout the recording that point out strengths and areas to work on which genuinely helps students progress. In many respects it mirrors a live classroom experience and because students can replay instructor feedback whenever they need to, it can even be more effective.
Cons
I've noticed one recurring gripe from instructors I work with, the rubric-building interface in this tool doesn't feel as simple as they'd prefer and that learning curve can slow down course setup, similarly on occasion students have reported that attaching documents alongside their video submissions is clunky or confusing, so both faculty and learners sometimes need extra guidance when dealing with those features.

“easy for real-time feedback
Pros
These days my students are able to record, watch back and thoughtfully reflect on their own oral presentations which has really changed how they learn, in addition, they can get real-time feedback from both classmates and me during live presentations and whereas I used to spend hours collating and typing up student critiques, now they receive meaningful feedback with very little effort on my part.
Cons
It would be much more convenient if I could provide feedback on a student's presentation without juggling two laptopsbecause at the moment I have to use one device to record and another to type comments, is there any way to leave commentary while I'm recording so I don't need to split my attention and equipment?

“Instant feedback for novice interpreters
Pros
One thing I appreciate is that it lets us evaluate novice interpreters and provide them with instant, precise feedback which helps them improve quickly and understand exactly where they need to focus.
Cons
At the beginning I found it somewhat confusing, although in my experience as with most tools repeated use makes the interface much simpler and it becomes easier to find my way around.

“Cloud access for flexible use
Pros
The feature I really like is that I can access it from the cloud no matter where I am which makes it incredibly convenient for managing things on the go and not being tied to a single device or location.
Cons
I've faced an issue with the app's functionality. Despite relying on mobile devices in the classroom, the app fails to record video when integrated into Blackboard as an external tool, which makes this feature unusable for my needs

“Connectivity issues and poor support
Pros
From my experience, the customer support has been consistently lacking and unless substantial changes are made I feel this product urgently requires improvements to meet basic expectations.
Cons
I've experienced frequent connectivity problems when trying to record, coupled with disappointing and unresponsive customer service that hasn't helped resolve them.

“Targeted behavior insights for teachers growth
Pros
I really appreciate that it prompts concrete, timely feedback right at the point of interaction especially by calling attention to antecedents that lead to behaviors and by giving me an opportunity to observe, reflect and then talk through alternative approaches to both student conduct and my own teacher responses for example, when one student tends to monopolize class time I can bring that up with the cohort and explore different strategies together and perhaps most importantly, being able to share those moments with a teacher cohort prevents me from feeling isolated, reveals that others in the group are also come acrossing similar struggles and helps build our collective resiliency.
Cons
One limitation I find is that the model's expectation for students to provide feedback for each of the six observations puts substantial responsibility on me to monitor the process and to clearly establish and reinforce expectations around that feedback, so its effective implementation really depends on my consistent oversight and direction.

“great for instant feedbacks
Pros
One thing I appreciate is that students videos pause the instant I start typing comments or record video feedback on their assignments which allows students to view my remarks immediately while watching, the label section is also very useful, helping me to clearly identify and organize their submissions more effectively.
Cons
However, the system currently only supports PDFs and I'd really prefer if it handled any file format so that I could just drag files straight from my desktop onto the platform without extra conversion steps or workarounds.

“Video prompts that enhance skill development
Pros
Feedback tools is a perfect feature of this tool, being able to upload a video prompt and have students reply with their own video responses is something I rely on a lot because that kind of interaction is essential for developing ASL skills in my classroom.
Cons
While I appreciate the platform, the price is out of reach for a large number of my students so I've had to turn to free alternatives that don't offer the same quality because the cost truly created an access barrier for many in our program.

“Easy for recording
Pros
I find this tool easy for students to use, since they can record their work from either a laptop or a phone with minimal setup and because everything uploads directly to our university classroom site (Moodle) I'm not concerned about data storage or privacy. Supervisors really benefit from the commenting feature, they just begin typing and when they hit Enter the feedback is posted with an accurate time stamp and I also appreciate that the platform is secure, meaning video clips are not published or stored anywhere else outside the course environment.
Cons
I'd find it much more useful if there were a built-in option to export comments as a Word or PDF file because right now the only workaround I have is to use the print command and paste or save that output into a Word document which feels clumsy and time-consuming.

“Quick student setup with clear instructions
Pros
Remarkably easy for students to get everything configured and actually use this system and its also easy for me because they carefully followed the setup instructions.
Cons
In my experience, I ran into real confusion around how to access the course materials because the textbook includes a standalone access code that is different from the Blackboard login and since they aren't interchangeable, students who have already 'burned' their code can end up stuck and frustrated.

“Effortless teacher observations across locations
Pros
As someone new to school administration when this tool was first shown to me, I discovered it made recording and reviewing teacher observations extremely easy whether I was onsite or connecting through Zoom, the playback speed control proved indispensable and the stop-and-jot scripting tool was simply brilliant.
Cons
Uploading videos from my phone was what irritated me the most, although it might have been due to my limited bandwidth the slow transfer still left me exasperated, particularly when I'm pressed for time.

“easy setup for everyday use
Pros
Getting started is easy and immediate and I find it a simple yet effective tool to use whenever I feel like it.
Cons
As a teacher using this, I really need clearer guidance on how to organize folders and manage data specifically I would appreciate instructions for arranging assignments by numbering, date, completion status and similar criteria so everything stays consistent.

“Feedback Access Issue
Pros
One thing I appreciate most is that my students can upload their performances online in a format that captures both the visual and verbal elements so clearly and I value that when I start typing my feedback the video actually pauses at that precise moment which means that when they watch their graded submissions they can see exactly where my comments apply, that pinpointed timing is incredibly useful for both my instruction and the students understanding and it simplifies the feedback process considerably.
Cons
My biggest frustration, frankly, comes from having to extend the assignment's due date after I've finished grading so that students can actually access and read the comments I've left on their performances, it feels countersimple to reopen submission access just so feedback is visible. Ideally I'd like a workflow where the due date truly prevents any further uploads and afterward there is a separate 'available' or 'read-by' window during which students can only open and read my comments without being able to resubmit which would keep submissions closed while still giving them time to review feedback, thanks for addressing this.

“Reliable peer-review evaluation
Pros
In my experience, this tool was built specifically to evaluate performance through peer review and I find that it delivers on that promise, it operates easily, offering dependable, stable performance while leveraging technologies that let me upload and view a variety of video formats which keeps the interface both simple and interactive. I also appreciate how the range of assignment settings supports private or group-based evaluation and reflective activities and its LTI integration made rollout easy and has been a real benefit for our faculty.
Cons
I do have one reservation, although the platform's core features are strong, I find the mobile experience is still somewhat underdeveloped and would greatly benefit from a more fully featured implementation in upcoming releases, particularly so that recording and reviewing on the go can match the smoothness and completeness of the desktop environment.
