“Features meet expectations with quirks but Disappointed in Support
Pros
Some of the most valuable features include setting up a detailed learning site and user experience. I also enjoy the ability to run live events within the same environment as the LMS.
Cons
While Skilljar's support resources are good, their support team has been lacking. I often experience slow response times (more than 24 hours) and receive responses directing me to knowledge base articles I've already read rather than providing solutions or asking clarifying questions. I frequently find myself troubleshooting and investigating issues on my own with minimal help or direction from their support team. Additionally, their first instinct seems to be to blame external sources rather than considering or suggesting tests to rule out third-party integration issues.

“Skilljar LMS review
Pros
Skilljar is very user-friendly, with a shorter learning curve compared to other LMS options. It provides a wide range of capabilities for both customer and employee training.
Cons
There are no automated reports and the analytics are somewhat basic, particularly without integrations with other tools. Some processes, like course and user management are too manual. Email customization also has some limitations.

“Intuitive and Flexible eLearning Platform
Pros
I really value the ability to log in as our users to see their view. The built-in analytics are very useful too. We rely on many of Skilljars metrics to make business decisions and track performance.
Cons
Some features can be tricky when you are first learning to use the tool, especially with custom theming. However, the Skilljar team has been incredibly supportive, providing valuable documentation and making helpful recommendations. We're now using the software and making changes quite seamlessly.

“Top notch LMS for varied customer trainings
Pros
Skilljar gives me all the options I need to create and customize an engaging learning experience. I can use various lesson types, including video, SCORM, quizzes and text, to keep learners interested. It also provides many ways to adjust our catalog page to match our branding and theme.
Cons
The customization options using code snippets can sometimes be hard to organize. Additionally, the admin console can be confusing to navigate when trying to locate specific settings across different pages.

“Great LMS
Pros
Skilljar is an easy to use, powerful LMS that simplifies managing a learning portal or university. It supports multiple formats, including SCORM, various video files, PDFs and more. It also offers solutions for registering and organizing live training.
Cons
Some UI elements can be challenging to navigate at times. The dashboard analytics could be more comprehensive and there needs to be more customization for the universitys appearance.

“Helping to scale our training
Pros
I found it easy to design our content exactly how we wanted. The tool allows me to customize the design and flow of content to meet our needs.

“More than an LMS: Skilljar builds a partnership with their customers
Pros
Skilljar standout feature is definitely their customer success and support teams. From day one Skilljar has been with us, helping us transition from a poor LMS experience to creating our first certification program. They listen closely and quickly act on customer feedback and the company's low turnover rates speak to their high quality.
Cons
The reporting features sometimes shift their focus to integrate with other data platforms. A few features that were previously available on-demand are no longer accessible without involving our BI team.

“Solid backbone for our CustomerEd content
Pros
Skilljar provides excellent customization options and a range of settings and features to address various business needs. I have generally had positive interactions with my CSM and other staff members. The system has strong uptime and the engineering team is open to making small updates and customizations!
Cons
I have found the customer support team disappointing. I am often asked to provide information that the agent could find on their own or to follow steps that won't resolve the issue. Additionally, some features like Live Events, seem to be released before they are fully functional, leading to glitches and an unsure support team. I've also experienced waits of up to 4 weeks for a response from my CSM.

“There's gotta be a better way
Pros
Skilljar allows multiple sessions to run simultaneously. It is user-friendly and has a layout similar to a typical website.
Cons
The design aspect of this product is challenging. The coding often changes from what I insert, making it nearly impossible to copy and paste without alterations. It also feels outdated and not as fresh or modern.

“Awesome Learning Management Tool
Pros
The customer service and support are fantastic and they offer a vast portal of learning videos and reading material for self-learning.

Granting access can be daunting. It would be easier if I could allow access through a specific domain, so anyone who signs up with that domain could gain access rather than relying on a manual process.

“Overall very positive experience both in terms of the UI and service.
Pros
The ease of use is impressive with an intuitive UI for both admins and users. It includes all the essential features needed from an LMS.
Cons
The design and layout look quite old-fashioned. We received a lot of negative feedback from employees and management decided we could not use it as is for client training. Customizing it to a more modern look would have been very costly and time-consuming. Additionally, some aspects, like the appearance of emails sent through the platform are not customizable.

“Skilljar is a great partner - responsive to our business requirements and very agile. Very happy.
Pros
Skilljar offers our customers a modern, mobile-friendly experience that fits perfectly with our all you can eat subscription model for self paced micro learning. The out of the box integrations seamlessly connect with our existing tools (Okta/SSO, Salesforce, and Marketo). Their REST API allows me to quickly integrate with other systems, like GainSight, for CSM visibility into training consumption.
Cons
We faced challenges with the Salesforce integration since we are not a SaaS solution. Connecting student, objects to contacts and accounts wasn't easy or smooth.

“I have been nothing but impressed with Skilljar
Pros
Skilljar is easy to use, packed with features and highly customizable. With very few exceptions, it has met all our needs. It lives up to its promises as a robust LMS that can be tailored in numerous ways, and the support team goes out of their way to make my Skilljar experience as seamless as possible.

“Highly responsive and supportive as we transition from scrappy startup to mature business.
Pros
The customer support is excellent! Skilljar is easy to use, host and track, even for non-technical roles and companies. The products format and guidance encourage effective learning architecture. It offers built-in capabilities to charge for training, capture analytics and create courses, with great API support for integration with other platforms.
Cons
Compared to typical LMS solutions, its somewhat limited. Customizing it to match our company's look and style is challenging. Bulk actions and detailed customizations like crafting URL links, are not available to users and require customer support or a CSM. Reporting customization is limited and there are no push reports.

“Slick UX Check. Integration with my CRM, Check. Able to sell courses to the public,Triple check!
Pros
I like how easy Skilljar is for learners to use. Its focus on training customers includes impressive features for exposing and selling educational content to all users. The reporting dashboard is excellent for tracking progress. The site looks great and is highly customizable with editable CSS. Importantly, Skilljar integrates to send data to my CRM database, unlike most LMSs that do the opposite. This allows me to use the education and training site as a prospecting tool, create promo codes for serious prospects, and market to learners. I can track engagement drops, get notified about new business interests and potentially boost renewals!
Cons
The learning validation methods have some limitations that could be improved. Quiz question types are currently limited and there is no native way for learners to upload content for evaluation; we have to use third-party solutions like Box or Google Drive.
