“Zywave Agency Management
Pros
The system is incredibly easy to use, and I must say, my original sales rep was outstanding. Her communication skills made us feel completely at ease. Honestly, with her respectful communication, she should be leading the company.
Cons
Billing, billing, and more billing, combined with the attitudes of the representatives, who seem indifferent to resolving their clients' issues even when they're clearly at fault. They exhibit a take-it-or-leave-it approach, showing no understanding or interest in retaining customers. We tried to collaborate with them and even reached out via phone, but they hide behind emails and never answer or return calls. They seem to believe they're the only option in this market or that they're too good to help solve problems. Stay away...

“Worst company on earth to do business with.
Pros
The company is like a Satan on earth. Their contracts are set up to trick you into staying with them long term. It seems like their product is not strong enough to keep clients so they rely on these contracts to trap you.
Cons
They require a lengthy notice period before you can terminate your contract. If you miss this window, they threaten to send you to collections and hit you with outrageous fees. They seem like a nightmare.

“They will trick you into renewing. Even though you request not to!
Pros
Not much to say. The software was pointless. Access to Acord forms is nice but you can get that from plenty of other places.
Cons
There practice of forcing a renewal contract feels like a scam.

“Terrible Customer Service
Pros
Nothing positive to mention about Zywave. They just bought the company we were already with.
Cons
Customer service is worse. They are good at sending emails but fail to deliver on their promises, except when it comes to collecting payments.

“Worst software company we have worked with
Pros
Only real advantage is that Agency Matrix is fairly decent on its own.
Cons
Zywave itself is the biggest issue. Since they took over, support has dropped to nearly nothing. Phone support is never available and the chat team just directs you to support articles. Email responses can take days or even months as happened to me once. It makes the DMV look like a pleasant experience.

“ZYWAVE - STAY AWAY!! Total Bait and Switch company.
Pros
NONE. They took over Rate Factory (which was a bait) and then moved us to Zywave which does not work. They are only interested in money and do not deliver a functional product.
Cons
ZYwave Does not WORK Period So JUST STAY AWAY!! Its a classic bait and switch company. I have been in the insurance industry for over 35 years and have never faced this kind of behavior from any vendor! In the start we were told the product would meet our needs but it turned out to be nothing like what was promised. When we tried the new product they switched us to, it did not meet our needs at all. Since then, we have not used it and have no contract. I am requesting a refund and asking them to stop billing me. We had to find a different vendor during open enrollment and thankfully, they met our needs without any bait and switch tactics like these scammers.

“Pay more for a system thats proven.
Pros
System's overall design and experience is more streamlined than what we had before.
Cons
System implementation process has been a nightmare. After months of back and forth, I still cannot use the system for its proposed functions.

“Avoid Zywave - You've been warned
Pros
sales team was friendly but they really exaggerated the products features and functionalities. I liked my implementation person but the product was never properly set up for us to actually use.
Cons
Well they are aggressive in their sales tactics. They will show you examples of how the marketing will look when white labeled, then have you sign a contract. Once you start the implementation, you will find out that the product does not work as promised and is not usable. If you ask to cancel the contract, they will flatly refuse and insist you must complete all payments, even if you are not using the system. Its unprofessional to hide behind the contract with no grace period or lemon laws for insurance software. Its terrible.

Eric Graupner made me uncomfortable throughout my entire interaction with Zywave. His behavior was creepy and sexist. HR should review his social media.

“Zywave Agency Management - Customer Service tanked after Zywave bought Partner XE
Pros
Zywave software used to be simple, easy to navigate, affordable and had great customer support when it was owned by Partner XE. Partner XE sold the AMS to Zywave in the fall of 2022.
Cons
Customer service is not available at all you can say and we often went days or weeks without responses to emails, support tickets or calls. In the beginning we paid $300 for a test database backup. We also paid $1,000 for a full and complete data backup. However, when we received the backup a week later than promised, it was incomplete and had missing files. After we pointed this out it took several days to get a response. They said the new AMS needed to verify the missing files, which it did and confirmed that some folders were empty. Despite this, Zywave ignored our follow up requests for a complete backup. We have tried every contact email we could find but no one responds. As of now Zywave has effectively held a large portion of our agency client data hostage for almost 2 months.

“Beware
Pros
ITC was alright until Zywave took over. Their customer service and the whole merger process were poor.
Cons
The customer service and merger process were awful. It feels like the companys motto is thats not my job.

“Go for free trial first
Pros
During the demo everything worked smoothly and seemed resourceful.
Cons
When I needed it for property, it did not work as well as it did for auto. Plus, you have to manually add NAIC codes and carriers to the database which many other software companies already include.

“Don't do it
Pros
That first month when we were new and they were eager, they helped us get started and build the product. After that the only time they really showed up was right before our renewal. Otherwise customer service was nearly nonexistent.
Cons
The system is too large and fragmented. I always had to purchase additional features and could never test a process or product. Customer service was very limited and the sales reps used aggressive tactics to make a sale.

“Zywave Resources
Pros
They had some valuable resources and I liked that they put our companys logo on them.
Cons
Unfortunately, the resources were not updated often enough for us as we needed new content more frequently.

“Take the work out of marketing distributions and information guides
Pros
When explaining a type of coverage to a new client, I love that I can search through Brokerage Builders wide range library of guides and send out a selection of east to understand, visually appealing, fully branded documents with just a few clicks. The resources are clear, simple and easy to learn. We also use their video links and articles for our social media and blog sites.
Cons
If you are looking for detailed, in-depth materials you might be disappointed. While the guides and information on Broker Briefcase are clear, they only provide a basic overview of coverage and risk management. Still its easier than creating your own materials.

“Changes the way we work in the insurance business.
Pros
Zywave is a solid solution for insurance companies because it lets us store all our client files in one spot making them easy to access and simple to browse. We can quickly find policy details, plus attach documents and emails. We also like that reports based on specific criteria can be generated fast and are very clear.
Cons
There are times when a particular field is not relevant to some plans but the program still requires it to be filled out. I hope they add an option to indicate when a field is not applicable.

“Pretty easy to navigate. Lacking some intuitive features. Nice layout.
Pros
I really like being able to store all my client information in a single location. Its simple to pull up any policy details.
Cons
I dislike the fact that you cannot add more than one plan under a single policy number. Also, some plan information is mandatory even if it does not apply.

“Brokerage Builder has been a great tool for us at Hays! We use it for our database in Benefits.
Pros
Zywave helps me stay on top of my renewals, policy numbers and the types of coverage my clients have.
Cons
Manual entry required for setting up new clients or lines of coverage is cumbersome. There are many fields that need to be filled out.
