Overview

NCSIMUL 4CAM is an extensive manufacturing platform that enables one-click switching of target machines without ‘CAM’ reprogramming and performs real-time G-code verification and collision detection. While the platform’s performance can be slow under extensive load, it optimizes feeds, reduces cycle time, and eliminates external post-processors.

What Is NCSIMUL 4CAM?

NCSIMUL 4CAM is a cloud-based manufacturing platform that generates and adapts ‘CNC’ machine programs from existing ‘CAM’ toolpaths or native ‘NC’ code while verifying kinematics, collisions and cutting conditions against the target machine. It reuses ‘APT’ or G-code, recalculates machine-sequence connections, and automatically optimizes feed and rapid motions to reduce cycle time. The platform also produces technical ‘CNC’ documents and simulation outputs for review and shop-floor collaboration, enabling safe transfer of programs between differing machine kinematics.

CNC flexibility for 5-axis

Pros

It gives us a dynamic and efficient way to use CNC machines in manufacturing including 5-axis operations.

Cons

It would be better with automatic prediction of quality risks during 5-axis machining.

poor interface and weak onboarding

Pros

There isn't a lot that stands out but the Air Cutting optimization feature called OPTITOOL is useful. It can save around 20% to 25% of machining time. It also detects tool movement outside the material and updates those paths to rapid moves or to a higher user-defined feed rate.

Cons

My first reaction was how bad the interface feels. The colors and fonts they chose are really unpleasant and for a program like this, the design should pull you in instead of pushing you away. On top of that, it's hard to find proper learning material and getting support from them is not easy. If you're new to this kind of software, this is not a good place to start.
