What Is WIPtrac?
WIPtrac is a web-enabled manufacturing execution system (MES) and work-in-process (WIP) tracking solution designed for high-tech environments like semiconductor, MEMS, and R&D facilities. It is typically installed behind a factory firewall but offers browser and mobile accessibility. The platform delivers comprehensive operational control and real-time visibility by enforcing quality standards, managing production workflows, and integrating with equipment via SECS/GEM. This system supports strict quality compliance (ISO 9000/9001) for lot-based manufacturing.

WIPtrac Features
This feature supports ISO 9000/9001 compliance by implementing a comprehensive configuration management system. Users can only release and utilize essential manufacturing elements, such as operations, parts, and travelers, after review and approval. The strict release authorization process ensures compliance with configuration management principles across the factory floor.
The platform makes statistical process control (SPC) an integral part of factory operations. Engineering data collection (EDC) and analysis occur in real-time as parts are processed. Collected data is compared against multiple limits, triggering automated actions like placing lots or equipment on hold if values are exceeded or violated.
WIPtrac enforces manufacturing specifications by conducting engineering data collection (EDC) for every processed part. This ensures immediate identification and resolution of deviations. The system continuously tracks process parameters and automatically sends alarms via e-mail or text message when specifications are violated, preventing quality issues.
This module allows direct connection from the software to process tools and fab systems using SECS/GEM and PLC connections. It is scalable, ranging from enforcing correct recipe selection during check-in to advanced AI-based fault detection. Users can leverage this automation to enhance productivity, reduce scrap, and improve quality by accurately capturing fault tracking data (FDC).
This feature ensures quality control and process integrity by enforcing mandatory operator qualifications. Operators are assigned a specific status tied to different factory operations and processes. The software prevents operators from checking into, or initiating work on, any operation for which they have not been certified, thereby maintaining strict control over who performs sensitive tasks.
