daily automation that saves time

Pros

One of the biggest reasons I keep using this free software is how much time it saves me. I use it almost every day and we've connected it to our website so content gets sent automatically to subscribers at a set time each day. Once the initial setup was done, it pretty much ran on its own without needing weekly upkeep which has been a huge help.

Cons

My only real issues are that customer support isn't included with the free version and the large number of templates can feel a little overwhelming. It would be much more helpful if there were clearer guidance for choosing the right template based on a specific use case.

simple campaign automation

Pros

Keeping campaigns automated and properly segmented is very easy which makes the platform really pleasant to use.

Cons

Landing page builder is available but it still feels too limited and not polished enough.

affordable mailing list starter

Pros

When you need a budget-friendly mailing list tool, this one gets the job done and helps you get started quickly. The drag-and-drop builder is easy and the sign-up forms are simple to customize. It's usually the platform I recommend to people setting up their first mailing list.

Cons

Automation side is pretty messy compared with tools like ConvertKit, MailerLite, or AWeber. If you need great email sequences tied to multiple opt-in lead magnets, you can build them here but it's a hassle. That's exactly why I moved all of my more advanced mailing list workflows over to MailerLite. I also don't use the Instagram ads integration since it doesn't fit how I use the platform so it's annoying that it keeps showing up as a suggested campaign.

eye-catching event emails

Pros

Putting together polished emails for everything from our annual events and special parties to member upgrade promotions has been a real highlight. It's the best option we've come across for designing attractive, graphic-rich emails with images and interactive buttons that actually feel fun. Our messages really stand apart from the competition because of how visually appealing they are.

Cons

The downside is that because these emails are so heavy on graphics, a lot of them end up in junk folders or get blacklisted. It's incredibly frustrating to spend so much time creating something engaging, only to realize many people never received the email at all.

fantastic for email campaigns

Pros

From my side, this has been a really valuable platform in a lot of different ways. It's a fully featured and functional marketing tool and the interface is very easy to understand. Since it works similarly to other email services even a new user can get comfortable with it quickly. For email campaigns overall, it has been amazing in every aspect.

Cons

Everything has been going really well and it meets all of our requirements. At this point, I don't have anything to dislike about it. I just hope the service continues at the same level.

newsletters and targeting shine

Pros

Creating newsletters is really easy and the customer list segmentation helps a lot when running more targeted campaigns.

Cons

It does include a social media posting feature but it used to let you publish to multiple Facebook pages and now it only allows one. Posting to Instagram also doesn't feel very useful since links don't work in Instagram posts.

Great campaigns and analytics

Pros

The onboarding experience feels very smooth thanks to clear training documentation and a wide selection of useful third-party resources. Creating a new campaign and building an email template doesn't take much effort and the formatting options are flexible enough to put together polished layouts in just a few minutes. The analytics are detailed and useful too making it simple to track results and compare how different campaigns perform.

Cons

One downside is that support feels a little slow. We only needed to reach out once but the response took around 72 hours which is slower than what we've seen from other companies.

fantastic for weekly emails

Pros

Managing weekly email communications with college students has been really easy. The setup process doesn't take much effort, distribution lists are simple to create and the templates make everything a lot more convenient.

Cons

A few parts of the software can be a little harder to figure out without checking the help section. That mostly applies to the more advanced features though and the help area does a really good job of explaining things.

Customizable lists and handy builder

Pros

What stood out most for me was the level of customization available for email lists and exporting those lists to CSV files was also very convenient when I needed to move the data into my own database. The template builder was easy to use too.

Cons

When I tried building email templates with HTML and CSS, I ran into compatibility problems. It would have helped a lot if they had explained those limitations upfront before I ended up spending time on it.

Mailchimp gets the job done.

Pros

There are other brands as well out there, but they are way too expensive. Mailchimp has all the features that those products provide but with a better price. I am not someone who has an IT background much so for me getting a product and using it wasn’t that easy, but Mailchimp was very simple that I fell in love with it in just about one day. It has amazing email marketing features and functionalities.

Cons

I don’t really think of it as a con but it’s something that I least like and that is to build my own segments.

email marketing clicked instantly

Pros

As someone completely new to email marketing, I initially found the idea of managing email lists a bit intimidating. Fortunately, the platform turned out to be surprisingly simple to learn and I loved using it from the very first day. The features are very user-friendly and it's realistic to learn how the whole system works in around two hours.

Cons

The part I enjoy the least is having to create your own segments within the software.

budget-friendly growth fit

Pros

Affordability has been one of the biggest advantages for us. As a small business, being able to start with the free version worked out really well. As we expanded, the plan could grow with us and be customized to match both our needs and our budget.

Cons

This software keeps things pretty basic. It handles the same tasks as other tools but there really aren't any standout or unique features. That said if all you need is something simple that gets the job done, this is a great choice.

powerful analytics and better metrics

Pros

Analytics are easily my favorite part because they provide valuable insights for planning my next steps. That helps me make adjustments and stay more engaging with my audience and clients. The platform is also simple to use and comes with plenty of options. Since I began using it, my metrics have been getting better.

Cons

Affiliate marketing is not really welcomed on the platform and that has been an issue for me. I use another platform for my website and also work with affiliates to sell my product which in this case is an ebook. I am not exactly sure why this is treated as such a big issue but I do think it is something that should be discussed more or improved.

fantastic value for growing lists

Pros

Building a great email campaign only takes a few minutes thanks to the pre-designed templates. On top of that, it's priced better than a lot of competing tools and gives you more space for subscribers without charging much. If you're just getting started online, you don't have to pay a monthly subscription until you go beyond 2,000 subscribers which basically means you can hold off on paying until your business starts bringing in money. That's a really nice incentive especially when you add in features like landing page design and integrations with Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics.

Cons

Badge stays on my emails until I move to a paid upgrade.

free plan packed with customization

Pros

For businesses taking their first steps into email marketing, the free version feels like a goldmine. It's fairly simple to pick up, helps protect both businesses and customers by keeping up with constantly changing online marketing laws and gives you all the customization features you really need. I'd absolutely recommend it to small and medium-sized businesses while they're still building and growing their email list.

Cons

There is definitely a bit of a learning curve. A lot of business owners can feel overwhelmed when they try to handle everything on their own and some end up deciding they don't really "need" an email campaign. It helps to be patient, watch a few tutorials online, or even reach out to a Virtual Assistant to help get everything set up properly.

Easy templates and tutorials

Pros

One of the strongest benefits of this software is the free version which lets me reach a great number of current and potential clients without much limitation. The tutorials are also very useful especially for beginners because they clearly explain how to set everything up and run different campaigns. That is actually one of the biggest reasons I suggest it to my clients. On top of that, it offers a wide range of templates which is especially helpful for new users getting started with email marketing.

Cons

One limitation is that it does not support affiliate marketing or concurrency although I can understand why that might be the case. Another issue is that once a campaign has already been sent, any changes I make afterward are not reflected in that campaign.

powerful testing and integrations

Pros

The platform has been amazing to use. The A/B testing feature is incredibly useful and it's the most user-friendly email marketing platform I've worked with. The integrations with other tools, like SurveyMonkey, are also really valuable.

Cons

Only area where it feels a bit limited is email layout customization. I wish it were a little more flexible to adjust designs without needing to know code.

generous free plan and templates

Pros

Launching my business was much easier with the help of this platform. The free version is very generous, offering support for up to 10,000 emails and I was able to send 500 emails at no cost when I was just starting out. The free plan's limit of 2,000 emails per month is honestly really great. That probably helps explain why the platform says it handles 600 million emails a day. It also works really well with WordPress which is a huge plus since so many people use it. The templates are cute and there's a nice variety to pick from. Compared with other newsletter tools, it feels very complete since it also includes landing pages, forms and subscription pop-ups.

Cons

Frustrating part is that emails often end up in the Promotions tab for Gmail users. Because of that, you have to keep asking subscribers to mark your messages as important so they actually see them and that can make you come across as a bit too salesy.

polished newsletters and social sharing

Pros

Designing attractive newsletters is very easy and the ability to connect and share through social media accounts is a really useful bonus.

Cons

Free version feels a bit restrictive in terms of flexibility, like the cap on how many audiences you can create. On top of that, the paid plans are priced a little too high for a smaller business or organization.
