Game-changing system for Equipment and Property tracking

Pros

I am very impressed with the customization ability of Alloy. I haven't found anything that I couldn't change to suit my needs. I'm not even using Alloy to its fullest capacity yet, and it has transformed my workflows. Being able to track property and equipment for remote employees within different categories is incredibly helpful. I appreciate the system's flexibility, once I learned the different levels of detail it contains, it became even more valuable. The customer support is fantastic and really responsive. The training I received saved me from many missteps when setting up the system. I felt well-prepared to go live. Of course, I've made changes since startup as I realized different views or categorizations of items would work better, and the system makes it easy to adjust. My favorite section is the Consumables section, and I keep finding more ways to use it. I feel that once I integrate purchasing into my Alloy workflow, my data will be invaluable.

Cons

The only real problem I have found so far is that the Inventory Items and the Equipment Lending Library don't sync. This has been a little limiting, but the support team is working to correct it, so I anticipate no problems in the future. There is a big learning curve with Alloy if I have not worked with a similar system. Since I am new to asset tracking systems, I highly recommend taking advantage of the training sessions. They are very in-depth and will prepare me well. Some of the categorizations required with Category and Type are a little redundant, especially in the Consumable Products section. It took me several tries to figure out the best way to input these items to make them work for us.

Easy to use ITSM software

Pros

As a help desk technician, I find this app very easy to use with lots of customization possibilities. The asset inventory and configuration parts are very useful and simple to configure. It implements all ITIL framework concepts globally.

I think the notification part could be improved (text editing).

An Outstanding ITSM Solution: Easy, All-in-one & Flexible!

Pros

I love that it comes smartly pre-configured. The settings are very easy and flexible. Everything is possible, and if it is not, I can always do it with PowerShell no limits!

Cons

The project management side could be enhanced, as well as the knowledge management or the document management, but these are less important in my activity.

Powerful tool

Pros

I find the amount of customization very useful. When working with tickets, I can see all the right information at a single glance, so I don't have to spend so much time looking for ticket and customer information.

Cons

The UI can be overwhelming because of all the options presented, but after some time working in the tool and making changes to suit my taste, it's working fine.

Alloy has a lot of useful features, but is not the easiest to use

Pros

It has a lot of useful features like the equipment lending library and asset management features. I also like how I can send tickets via the help desk portal, which makes it easier to keep track of work orders.

Cons

Customer support used to be really good, but lately it has not been. For example, when I run into an issue, I look it up in their knowledge base and they don't have what I am looking for.

Great Product, when it comes to IT Inventory & Asset Management.

Pros

My main objective on the job is to track all the IT assets and inventory for both deployed and stock items. Alloy Navigator does the job perfectly and gives the reports my department needs. Another interesting thing is that most areas of this product can be easily customized according to the department's needs. I can easily report an issue using the self-service SSO portal.

Cons

I think the help section can be provided for the self-service portal.

Good tool for Inventory IT Assets in property

Pros

I set it up once and run it for the whole network to get information on all assets in the network and generate reports, which are good for management review.

Cons

I encounter some bugs, but I understand that they can be fixed by a programmer. Also, there is a delay in the response from the support team.

Fully functional ITSM out-of-the-box and highly customizable tool

Pros

Out-of-the-box, I can use the tool almost immediately. It provides many parameters to suit my environment's particularities. I can easily integrate my existing IT tools with the API and purchase discovery tools as an option. The tool can be quickly and efficiently customized, which could replace many development hours. I can define my own actions, alerts, notifications, and triggers.

Cons

I think international support could be improved. Multi-currency and multi-language need important customization to be implemented. Project management and the calendar have limited functionalities.

Alloy for Service Requests and Change Requests

Pros

I do not use all of the available features of this system, but I really like the ones I am currently using. I spend nearly all my time with tickets and Change Requests, both of which are easy to use and help me track my work effectively. I love how easy it is to escalate tickets and CRs, create work orders, and communicate with my requestors directly within the tickets. My administrator has also created some very helpful reports and dashboards so I can track the work my employees complete and provide visibility to our Executive Leadership. We've even created an entire process surrounding our Change Advisory Board that streamlines the approval process for projects. It's wonderful.

Cons

It might just be me, but I find both the Activity and History tabs to be confusing and overwhelming at times. I wish there was a better way to quickly see what's happened with the ticket over time.

Alloy Navigator - Marvelous tool for Network Inventory

Pros

The most impactful feature of this software is viewing if a workstation has an outdated OS or a low C drive, which helps me identify issues that might affect users' ability to work. Another feature I like about Alloy software is that I can exclude devices not connected to the network.

Cons

The least thing I like about Alloy software is that I find it difficult to find the version of software on a workstation. For example, if I'm looking for a specific software like Revit 2019, it becomes difficult unless I have assistance from Alloy technical support.

Extensible Incident Management, Asset Management, and Incident Workflow Management

Pros

I have found Alloy to be highly customizable to meet my needs. I can track the lifecycle of hardware assets, remotely manage machines directly from an incident case, link incidents and problems to the computer's history, and automate many simple and complex tasks, from resetting a password to requesting an RMA from a hardware vendor. I've used many other Enterprise IT incident management software products, and this is still my software of choice.

Cons

This system very powerful, and with power comes complexity that requires training and understanding of how the underlying database interacts with the software to get the most out of the product. Understanding the hierarchy is important when setting up service desks if I support more than one technical team. I have an IT Support Desk as well as a Facilities Support Desk and a Supply Order Desk.

Alloy Navigator

Pros

I already used Network Inventory, and expanding to Alloy's help desk was a natural step. Alloy Navigator has many features at a low cost, and I'm slowly moving forward and using more and more. The customization options are good, and if I can't fix something myself, Alloy can help.

Cons

Alloy Navigator - our daily help - thank you!

Pros

All of my service requests, incidents, announcements, and instructions for inquiries are centralized and can be linked as required. I can manage the purchase of hardware, software, and services centrally. If necessary, I can configure different permits as conditions before purchases. I can clearly manage sub-tasks of service requests, incidents, or projects. If I want, I can make adjustments to workflows, masks, etc. Alloy Navigator's web interface is very good, and I can do most or almost all of the work in the web browser. This is really fantastic!

Cons

I think Alloy Navigator is very good software. I can't find anything that I would call a disadvantage.

Alloy Navigator

Pros

It was super easy for me to get started and set up the general functionality. I have been able to quit using spreadsheets to track information and import most of my spreadsheets directly into Alloy. I now track my contract renewals for both hardware and software, my software licensing, and allocations. The library is very useful for me to track equipment checked out to our end users or contracted trainers. I also have a scheduled inventory that continues to update with the latest information for all computers in our domain.

Excellent inventory and ticketing features

Pros

I like that we are all on board with Alloy for ticketing and inventory. Solution adoption can be a struggle for some teams, but we collaborate, share ideas, and implement our best practices for ticketing and inventory. We are also building on this with the knowledge feature.

Pros

Alloy Navigator is the complete solution for managing IT services and providing controls for changes in the technology environment. It was easy for me to install, and the self-service portal was easy to navigate. The best part is the cost. Alloy Navigator Experience

Pros

What I like most about Alloy Navigator is the Library tree. I implemented this tool with our company laptops, giving me the ability to track and list who we "loan" the laptops to. I can also track when we push software updates on our machines. The knowledge base tree is another pro in my opinion. Whenever I am stuck with an issue, I do a quick search in the knowledge base to see if any previous employees have encountered the same problem before. This really helps me cut down on troubleshooting time and points me in the right direction to solve the problem.

Cons

The only con I have with Alloy Navigator is the ticketing system. I feel users who have issues should be able to create a ticket themselves.

If keeping track of everything is what you want, this product is for you! And I mean everything!

Pros

Alloy can be as simple or as complex as I want it to be based on how I set it up. The flexibility and depth are what I love most about it. I can really keep track of everything in my IT environment and customize it to fit my specific needs. Other products make me use their preconfigured categories and workflows, but Alloy comes preconfigured with almost everything I need, and I can add or remove just about anything I want and build my own workflows to automate the system.

Our company has grown tremendously in the past two years and Alloy has grown with us.

Pros

Almost all the features can be customized to fit my business. From device inventory to custom reporting, Alloy helps me get what I need for metrics.

Cons

I experience a learning curve with the product. If I do too much customization, like with all things, something may break when an upgrade is released.

Alloy does the job

Pros

The Alloy user portal and technician portals are easy for me to use. It runs quickly and smoothly and it is easy to import users from AD. Email integration for alerts on new tickets and updates on existing tickets is a great feature. The training that Alloy offers is well thought out and contains tons of information.

Cons

I notice customer support can take 1-3 days to get back to me. The backend of Alloy is very confusing, and trying to change simple things can be extremely difficult since there is no search functionality and no online documentation. If I want custom features added, it costs a decent chunk of money.

I use it daily for tracking HelpDesk Calls, Inventory and Purchasing

Pros

It has helped me streamline our department by having all documents and references in a central location.

Cons

At times, it is a little confusing for me with what seems to be duplicate areas. But on a positive note, I can link these areas.

Alloy is a very good product for managing IT related information.

Pros

The thing that I like most about Alloy is that it houses all of our IT-related data. It is a one-stop shop for whatever information I need to access.

Cons

Sometimes, I find the user interface a little confusing when it comes to finding a certain help desk ticket or an inventory item. But otherwise, it's a really good IT software package.
