“Fantastic updates”
Pros
It is easy to use and making changes later is just as simple. It helps me stay up to date all the time and the portfolios feature is really valuable. I have also been impressed by how much the developers keep improving the product and I am always happy to see the new updates they release.
Cons
I don't have any complaints. Everything works well, it's user friendly, sharing information is simple and being able to add collaborators without paying for extra seats is a big plus.

“Shortcut-filled task tracking”
Pros
One thing that really works for me is how it lets me throw just about anything onto my to-do list and keep all the details I pick up along the way in one place. It also helps me stay on top of what I have already completed which is something I usually struggle with. The interface is easy to navigate and features like adding subtasks with Ctrl + S make it even more convenient. There are tons of shortcuts too so moving around the platform feels quick and efficient.
Cons
Overall my time using it has been very positive. The only changes I'd really want are a task creation panel that opens on the right side for faster detail entry, a bit better scaling so I don't have to adjust the zoom on my laptop screen and improved responsiveness in the mobile app.

“Fun animations”
Pros
Right from the start the layout seemed simple and I could figure everything out without help. The little animations when I complete tasks are a nice touch and make using it more enjoyable. Overall the app is very easy to use.
Cons
I haven't run into any downsides and honestly I don't expect to find any.

“Versatile project visibility”
Pros
Asana has been a fantastic visual way to handle all kinds of projects and tasks. It's simple to use and can be customized for each project or client. You can assign tasks to specific users and add due dates which helps keep everything organized. The different views like Dashboard, individual Tasks, Inbox and Projects make it really clear what needs attention and what still requires a response.
Cons
At this point I haven't come across anything about the software that I dislike.

“Helpful support”
Pros
Our team has been using it for the past two years and it's been easy to work with. It's simple to use and makes it easy for engineers to keep track of tasks and follow progress.
Cons
There are times when it feels a bit complex but the support team is very helpful whenever that happens.

“Helpful team task visibility”
Pros
It really helps the whole team stay on the same page by making upcoming tasks and next steps visible to everyone.
Cons
There's honestly not much to complain about. Being able to reorder tasks is a nice touch though having the option to resize them could make it even more useful.

“Helpful deadlines”
Pros
Getting deadline notifications is really helpful and being able to view all the team's tasks in a single window makes everything much easier to track.
Cons
The visuals feel like they could use an update and some features especially in the mobile app, still seem to need more improvement and innovation.

“Flexible subtasks”
Pros
It is pretty easy to use and using it day to day seems simple. I really like being able to create subtasks and organize them into separate sections.
Cons
When it's being used just for personal organization, I think there should be an option to hide the assignee bubble or at least have tasks automatically assigned to you.

“Up-to-date task tracking”
Pros
One thing I really like is how consistently it stays current with new features and updates. It helps me keep all my tasks and projects organized in one place which makes day to day work much easier. On top of that the support team has been fantastic as they respond quickly whenever I have a question or run into an issue.
Cons
One frustration is the lack of a clear undo button. Every now and then I make a mistake and want to reverse it but I cannot which means having to redo everything from the beginning. If the option does exist, it's tucked away somewhere that doesn't seem very user friendly.

“Organized tracking”
Pros
Project tracking and status updates worked really well for me. I was able to keep my tasks organized in one place and that made our department deadlines much clearer and better defined.

“Simple team collaboration”
Pros
One thing that really works well is how simple the platform is. Bringing collaborators on board is much simpler because they can get comfortable with it quickly without dealing with a steep learning curve.
Cons
At the same time I kept wishing the interface could be redesigned more to fit my preferences. It would be much better if there were a lot more customization options available.

“Helpful teamwork features”
Pros
During the pandemic I began using it to manage teamwork with my classmates and it has worked out really well. It offers the best features that have helped us keep everything organized and the free version includes a generous set of tools. It also integrates well with external apps which has been very useful.
Cons
Customization feels a bit limited and getting started can be somewhat confusing for a new user. It also sends too many notification emails and that overload can make it easier to miss the updates that actually matter.

“Quick fix for team work”
Pros
Right away, Asana feels like a fast solution to a lot of the problems that have been slowing work down. It helps turn ongoing challenges into more lasting strategies you can actually keep up with, without spending hours trying to manage everything and that makes the whole process feel much more satisfying.
Cons
At the same time it can feel crowded when everyone is contributing ideas and multiple strategies are running on top of each other. Because of that, it sometimes takes a while to follow what everyone is doing all at once.

“Easy task tracking standout”
Pros
Adding tasks is fast, attaching files is easy and assigning work takes almost no effort. Bringing in clients is simple too and the interface is user‑friendly enough that onboarding doesn't require much training. Due dates and scheduling make project management very easy unless you need something specifically built for Scrum. I used it at different companies and liked it so much that when I went solo, it became my first choice. My designer partner was immediately on board so we got set up quickly and stayed organized even 1,000 miles apart in different time zones. Creating invoices and time reports is also quick and the output looks detailed and professional.
Cons
A few extra features similar to what JIRA offers, like a ticketing system or wiki functionality, would be nice to have. That said, those would honestly be more than I need most of the time. For the core job of project and task management, this is arguably one of the best tools out there and definitely the best overall compared with the many systems I have had to use over the years.

“Deep task detail”
Pros
The thing that keeps me using Asana every day is how many features it offers. Two that stand out in particular are being able to switch between different views to look at the same information in multiple ways and the option to create subtasks within subtasks across several levels. That level of structure makes it possible to break work down as much as needed for any task.
Cons
Being able to manage the look of my boards is something I really appreciate. That said, I still wish there were more customization options when it comes to formatting and creativity. It's also frustrating that I cannot duplicate an entire list and reuse it in the same board or move it to another board without relying on a workaround and I have run into that inconvenience many times.

“Client templates”
Pros
One feature that's been especially helpful is setting up templates for the tasks I regularly use with clients, then reusing them each time a new client comes on board. It gives me a fast starting point and saves a lot of setup time. I also really appreciate being able to create recurring tasks based on each client's specific needs. Because of that, I no longer have to manage paper files or rely on putting everything on my calendar. The daily email summary is another big plus since it shows me exactly what needs to be done that day and what's coming up next based on the tasks assigned to my email.
Cons
At the moment I am on the free plan so I realize I am probably missing out on some valuable features included in the Pro version. That said, I have heard the Pro plan requires adding another user which would increase the cost for me even though I don't currently have anyone else who needs access. That's probably the biggest downside from my perspective as having to pay for an extra user I don't actually need just to upgrade. If there's a way around that, it would make the paid version much more appealing.
