Checklists that keep work moving

Pros

Creating checklists for any task or project is really simple which makes it a useful way to keep work organized and track what needs to get done.

Cons

Team communication inside the platform can feel a little scattered especially when it gets mixed in with all the other ways people are already communicating.

Pros

There's a great set of features available and the ability to connect with external tools is really valuable.

Cons

working with the team is fun now

Pros

It has a very simple way of handling projects and tasks which is a big reason I enjoy using it. You can run several projects at once, create tasks and break them into sub‑tasks. Working with a team is easy because everyone can collaborate on the same project. Each task is assigned to one person which keeps ownership clear. Team members can also leave notes and attach files to keep everyone updated. One of my favorite touches is the little flying unicorn that sometimes appears when a task is completed. It's a fun reward and adds some personality to the experience.

Cons

Getting familiar with the layout took a bit of time At first but once I got used to where everything was, the app became simple to work with.

Modern workflow

Pros

The interface feels modern, fast and flexible which makes the platform pleasant to use day to day. The free version is genuinely useful and there are plenty of features included. One feature that helps a lot is the Timeline view especially for managing dependencies more clearly and keeping projects organized.

Cons

I don't see any major downsides. If anything, it may just not be the best fit for graphics-heavy work.

Team task scheduling done right

Pros

Asana lets me plan out projects and assign tasks while working closely with a full team. It makes it simple to keep multiple tasks moving at once and stay on top of project schedules.

Cons

After we bought the Premium upgrade, their sales team kept reaching out to dig into our needs. That might be useful for some companies but in our case it felt excessive and irritating since we do not use the platform the way they seemed to expect. At one point, a customer service rep even directly told me it was not really the right program for us.

Friendly UI for small projects

Pros

The free plan works well enough for smaller projects and the interface seems friendly and easy to use.

Cons

The only downside is that the timeline/Gantt feature isn't part of the free version.

Powerful project management toolkit

Pros

There's a lot packed into Asana and that depth is one of its biggest strengths. It's a powerful platform with a wide range of features, including plenty that go beyond what I personally know how to use right now. Since I am still pretty new to tools like this some parts felt confusing At first but when it comes to the core project management tasks, it handles them really well and gets the job done.

Cons

Being new to this type of platform, I still run into moments where it seems a bit confusing. It does start to make more sense the longer you work with it but it definitely took some time before I felt comfortable navigating everything.

helps manage things

Pros

I find it easy to use and it's been simple to manage overall. Adding tasks and customizing them to match our workflow also works really well.

Cons

One downside is the cost which felt a bit high for our team especially considering we're still a relatively small group.

Highly flexible workflows

Pros

There's a really nice balance of structure and flexibility in this software. It's helpful that you can either create workflows from the ground up or get started quickly with a template.

Cons

Because there are so many customization options, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first while you're still learning how all the features work.

Pros

Keeping up with my day to day work has been much better because everything stays organized and visible right in front of me.

Cons

I really haven't run into anything I dislike yet though I still haven't explored the sharing features or collaborative task assignments.

It could be a little more organized when it comes to keeping everyone else on track.

Better for basic task tracking

Pros

As a starter project management platform, it works well for teams that only need to keep up with a handful of things or want a simple way to collaborate and monitor project details. The interface is fairly user friendly, doesn't take long to learn and it lets you follow the same information through multiple layouts like List, Board, Timeline and Calendar. Another helpful part is being able to see your personal tasks separately from project views which makes it feel like a built-in to-do list organized by due date.

Cons

Once you need deeper database building or more customization, it starts to feel pretty limited. I much prefer how Notion handles pages and databases since it gives users far more freedom in how information is displayed and structured, with options for text, headers, inline tables, images, videos and more. This platform feels much more locked into one overall format, with the main variation coming from the different view types. Customizing properties also isn't nearly as flexible as it is in Airtable or Notion. If you already have decent project management experience and care a lot about customization, I'd probably look for something more advanced.

Top fantastic for staying on track

Pros

Working in Asana has been a really positive experience because it's incredibly simple to use organize and tailor to different needs. I have used it with small to mid-sized teams and although a few people needed a little time to get comfortable with it At first it ultimately became the most valuable tool for keeping everyone aligned and on top of project deadlines. I have collaborated with several project managers who genuinely enjoy using it and as an operations manager who occasionally steps into project management work, I really enjoy it too.

Cons

A couple of things do bother me such as some odd behavior can happen when archiving a project and I also wish it offered more automation features. Other than those two issues, I really don't have many complaints.

helps with better focus

Pros

Asana keeps our team centered on the work in front of us while also helping us plan upcoming tasks ahead of time which has definitely boosted productivity. It's also very user friendly.

Cons

One thing that can be frustrating is getting back to the parent task when there are more than two levels of subtasks under it.

Organized dashboard

Pros

Jumping into Asana took almost no effort at all. I work with multiple departments and this is the platform one team relies on yet I was able to start using it right away without needing any real training. Everything felt clear, well organized and efficient for communication. The dashboard is also very customizable which helps me set up my week in a way that fits my workflow and keeps my tasks in order. When I was out with COVID, it also made collaboration with the team much easier and helped me stay on top of what needed to get done.

Cons

Well the visual design is fairly plain so having more options to personalize the look would be a nice improvement. I also ran into moments where it was harder to track down comments after a task was completed which made it a little difficult to go back and reference earlier information.

Excellent for team task tracking

Pros

Keeping tasks, projects and plans organized is where this software really shines. It's especially helpful when several team members are involved since it makes collaboration on different tasks much easier and helps everyone stay on track without falling behind.

Cons

The only downside is that, like a lot of similar tools, it does take a bit of time to get familiar with the system and learn how to use it properly.

Runs my business perfectly

Pros

At this point I don't have to overthink things anymore as this is the tool that keeps my business running exactly the way I need it to.

Cons

The one thing I am still missing is color coding. I'd really like the option to change task or board colors so they can line up with the system we use in-house.
