Thoughtful design for teamwork

Pros

Right away the interface is very well designed and the project management features are incredibly useful. The biggest benefit though is how much it organizes team workflows especially when it comes to assigning tasks and sharing files so work actually gets done.

Cons

I enjoy using it so much that it's become one of my favorite tools. The only real downside was a pretty minor one such as their feedback form didn't include a what did you like least about this software? option.

Powerful boost for project management

Pros

Since our company started using Asana, it has been a huge win for me and for the team overall. We've made noticeable progress across the board especially with time management, task tracking, project management and a lot more. It's also very user friendly and offers better features than many of its competitors. Huge credit to the people who built it!

Cons

There really isn't much to complain about but if I had to point out one area that could use improvement, it would be team communication. Good communication is essential in every project so I feel this part could be stronger.

Fantastic for team task tracking

Pros

I have really enjoyed working on projects with it. The design is simple and clear so it's easy to figure out how to use it. If you've used Wunderlist, the task list will look familiar. You can also assign tasks to certain people, kind of like in Bitbucket which helps keep both you and your team organized.

Cons

The mobile app is less user friendly and it doesn't sync properly when a task has already been viewed on desktop which ends up creating unnecessary duplication.

Productive task planning boost

Pros

Whenever a new idea comes to mind, I drop it straight into my idea list. Keeping tasks and folders organized helps me stay really productive. It's free to start so I have been able to test out new features without any pressure. The pricing is affordable and scales well too. I also keep my content ideas and written text together in one place which is super helpful. And the reminder notifications are absolute gold.

Cons

At times the dashboard feels overwhelming because there are just too many tools and features. I really wish I could customize it to show only the ones I actually use. Once I start adding a lot of ideas and projects, everything begins to look complicated. It also needs more export options.

provide project visibility

Pros

Keeping all our projects scheduled in one place has been really helpful for collaboration and getting work completed. It gives a clear overview of who is responsible for what and when and we can add notes to the schedule or leave suggestions as we go. I also like being able to attach files in the same area instead of having a bunch of documents sitting on my desktop which makes the whole project flow feel more organized.

Cons

There are a couple of things that frustrate me and some of that may be because I am not very tech-savvy. With so many groups and projects happening at once, it can be really hard to find what I need and our page ends up looking cluttered and overwhelming. That makes it easy to feel lost and to me that hurts productivity because the organization just isn't strong enough. I also wish deadlines worked better since the dates we enter for when something should be done don't seem to actually alert anyone.

Powerful collaboration

Pros

Right away the sleek interface stood out and the flexibility, depth and range of features made this our team's preferred tool for collaboration and project and task management. We had been using Monday.com before but this platform fit our workflow better and connected more naturally with the other tools we already rely on, like Salesforce, Slack and Google.

Cons

Getting started was a little confusing for some people on our team especially at first. It's also priced a bit higher than some competing options but the flexibility and powerful feature set help justify the extra cost.

Daily teamwork hub

Pros

Our team brought it in mainly to stay on top of projects and task tracking and it has been working really well for us. We use it every single day and honestly our weekly meetings wouldn't happen without it anymore.

Cons

One thing still seems missing is that some of my team members continue relying on other tools to manage their own task progress. It might help if there were a way to add private notes to public tasks.

Flexible views for every team

Pros

Well our team really like how customizable it is. People can look at their work in whatever format suits them best such as list, calendar, board and more. That flexibility helps everyone stay on top of tasks in their own way while managers and directors can still get a broad, high-level view of everything happening across projects.

Cons

Most of my complaints are tied to the design. The app can feel overwhelming when you're juggling too many projects at once. Since I am involved with several IT teams, it's sometimes hard to keep straight which team space I am actually working in. Teams can personalize members and interface colors which does help a bit but it can also feel a little confusing. It tends to work better when there's someone dedicated to managing the app. The Calendar view also needs improvement as finding the Today button is often harder than it should be and when moving between months, it's not always clear which month you're currently viewing.

Pros

Fantastic for managing remote tasks

Pros

Managing freelance and part-time staff is tough and this has been incredibly helpful for keeping everyone on track. The ability to set up projects and assign tasks to specific people has been really valuable. When something comes up for a freelance or part-time team member, they're often not on site to check what needs to be done. Being able to assign the task while they're away and then hold them accountable for finishing it the next time they clock in has been fantastic. It also helps that the platform is fun to use and visually appealing.

Cons

Wel there was a bit of a learning curve at the beginning. The team needed some time to understand the best way to structure projects and assign tasks properly. Early on, everyone was using it a little differently which made things feel cluttered but once we got everyone aligned on the same structure, it worked out really well.

Task tracking that keeps us moving

Pros

It is easy to keep track of tasks that still need to be done and planning future projects fits right into how we already work.

Cons

There isn't much room for customization and the learning resources available for getting up to speed with the software are limited. The templates also need a more user friendly format.

File sharing shine

Pros

The tool works really well for visual project tracking especially with the Kanban board. Being able to add images and documents directly into tasks is a big plus and makes collaboration much more practical.

Cons

The reporting features are still limited and there's no built-in instant messaging which can make quick team communication less convenient.

Collaboration across every device

Pros

Asana really helps keep people connected and collaborating well. It's consistently accessible on mobile, in the browser and on desktop which makes it convenient to stay on top of work from anywhere.

Cons

A few of the notifications were a little unreliable At times although that may have been due to my devices. The bigger frustration came during purchasing since the pricing was basically all users on the company domain or none at all. I could have gotten budget approval if we'd been able to limit it to just a couple of departments and still assign tasks to people without giving them a full license. If someone only needs to complete a single task, paying $30 a month for full access doesn't feel practical. Some kind of a la carte option would make the pricing much more worthwhile.

Customizable team workflow win

Pros

It is a simple tool so using it with the team was not a hassle. Plus it adapts well to the specific needs of the company and the individual views are quite complete. I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons

I really don't have anything to point out here since it covered all my needs better than the other software options I compared it with.

Collaboration that keeps projects moving

Pros

With Asana it is easy to start a project and the interface is simple to use. Working together is important in software development and this tool makes it work well in a practical way. It also runs smoothly in web browsers which really helps with everyday tasks.

Cons

One area that could be improved is how workload is shown when you're managing tasks across multiple boards. It can also feel a bit confusing at first for new users while they're getting familiar with the platform.
