Fantastic task tracking

Pros

it's incredible. It helps me a lot with my daily activities. I can register tasks, schedule them to repeat regularly and keep up with everything through an excellent tracking system. On top of that when deadlines are getting close, reminder emails are sent out which is extremely helpful. And the reports are amazing as well.

Cons

Right now we use the Premium plan and this mid-tier option still comes with several limitations in its features especially when it comes to automations.

Focused workflow

Pros

The interface seems clean and well thought out, with a minimalistic design that keeps attention on the key actions without adding clutter.

Cons

A few personalization options I was used to having in Pipefy seem to be missing here though that may simply come down to spending more time with the platform and learning it better.

Agile project tracking done right

Pros

Creating issues and managing them across different projects is very easy to do. The ability to link issues from one project to another makes it much simpler to track dependencies and stay on top of everything. Also it works great for scrum teams that follow agile ways of working.

Cons

The time tracking part still needs improvement. It also takes a bit of time to learn the platform and become fully comfortable using it.

Powerful task management win

Pros

Switching over to Asana years ago took some getting used to at first since it was a completely new environment for me and required a lot of adjustments. Once I started working in it every day though I became familiar with it pretty quickly. The app is very user friendly even if there's a small learning curve in the beginning. Navigation is also not a hassle and mostly common sense and the help documentation is really useful whenever you run into questions. Even after becoming comfortable with the platform, I checked their knowledge base and was surprised by how much more it can actually do. The free version alone is incredibly capable and offers a lot of functionality. For small and medium-sized businesses that are just getting started, it's more than enough. In my case, many of the premium features feel unnecessary because the core features already cover what I need for my business and daily work. I also appreciate being able to switch to Kanban view which basically made me stop using Trello. I rely on that view a lot for sprints and it's been very practical and effective. Another feature that has been really useful is the ability to turn an email into a task simply by forwarding it to the special email address they provide, after which it automatically lands in the right project. I am also really glad they released a desktop app because that has helped me cut down on the number of browser tabs I keep open.

Cons

this app is a beast and I really don't have anything to complain about.

Quick to adopt

Pros

It is pretty easy to use as we didn't have to sit through long training sessions to get everything up and running. The interface is also user friendly so it's been simple to figure out how to use the features and get things done.

Cons

At this point I haven't come across any real downsides. I probably just need more time to explore it and I am sure there are other helpful ways it can support us that we haven't discovered yet.

Helpful scheduling

Pros

This is a simple tool and it does a really nice job with task scheduling and automatic reminder emails.

Cons

One thing that bothers me is that when I create a task and assign it to someone, I cannot stop that person from deleting it. If they remove it, the task can just disappear and be forgotten. If I am the one who created the task, I should be the only person allowed to delete it from the system.

Perfect for remote marketing teams

Pros

Asana has been a really helpful fit for our large marketing team especially since most of us are remote. With everyone currently working from different parts of the country due to COVID, it does a good job of keeping projects organized and making sure people stay on track.

Cons

Getting started took a little time because there was definitely a learning curve at first. After I got familiar with how the software works though, it became simple to use.

Best platform for organization

Pros

It's honestly our daily lifesaver and hands down the best platform we've used for keeping the business organized.

Cons

The only thing I'd really want added is a team chat feature.

Flexible task tracking powerhouse

Pros

I find it really easy to use and the setup process does not require much work. Also it's flexible enough to fit both individual routines and the way a team likes to operate. Assigning tasks, checking progress and staying on top of notes and questions all feel simple and hassle free.

Cons

One thing I'd like to see is more ways to share content beyond your internal team especially when collaborating with users or IT contacts outside the organization.

All tasks in one place

Pros

Having everything gathered into a single task list was really helpful and made it simple to keep track of what I needed to do.

Cons

Reporting on progress and status wasn't very easy so getting a clear update took more effort than it should have.

Helpful project management boost

Pros

Asana has made a big difference in reducing the hassle around project management and procurement work in our organization. The platform is easy to use and the onboarding and admin side have both been real advantages.

Cons

One limitation is that it still is not broadly adopted across other organizations although that seems to be starting to shift.

Centralized teamwork

Pros

It really helps organize work better by giving everyone one central place to communicate about projects. Adding new team members is also easy and it's simple to set up separate channels for different departments.

Cons

I do wish some of the newer features especially reporting, were included in the free version.

Team collaboration that delivers

Pros

It keeps everyone productive and helps the team work together efficiently. It's especially useful for collaboration when several people are assigned different tasks at the same time.

Cons

I just wish there were time tracking available right next to each task.

Flexible task lists

Pros

Setting up lists based on the task you're working on is really easy. It's one of those rare tools that manages to be both simple to use and flexible at the same time.

Cons

The only downside is that time tracking isn't built in so you have to rely on third-party integrations for that.

Reliable task assignment tool

Pros

When the work setup involves assigning specific tasks to people who already know what needs to be done and those tasks need to be completed within a set timeframe, this works well as a practical assignment tool.

Cons

Compared with other options, it feels a lot less collaborative and not as focused on tracking progress. It comes across more like a shared task list than a full teamwork platform.

Better interface for small teams

Pros

Back when I was in higher education, I used Asana and it has come a long way since then. The UI and UX have improved a lot and it feels much more manageable now. The biggest advantage is that it's free for small teams which works really well for our small company when we need to organize tasks for outsourced developers.

Cons

At the same time people who are completely new to tools like this can find it a bit hard to get started. Another issue is the documentation. Most of our team feels that reading it doesn't really help them use the product and they'd rather learn by trying it out hands-on than relying on the guides.

Powerful project tracking

Pros

Asana lets you organize tasks by project and keep track of your team's progress clearly. It's especially useful for managing staff members or outside collaborators.

Cons

The paid version is priced far too high for small organizations. On the free plan, being able to create subtasks inside other subtasks can quickly turn things into a confusing maze so it's better to keep it simple. It also would have been really valuable to have the option to assign a time period to a task instead of only a deadline date.

Colorful planning

Pros

Right away Asana seems very user friendly. It works really well as a planning tool for startups because it's affordable and still simple to use. It comes with useful features like a task scheduler, email notifications, activity logs, a view for multiple projects and file storage. You can manage unlimited teams, create unlimited projects and assign those projects to coworkers without limitations. The part I enjoy most is the colorful interface and the task dependency feature. It also shows the percentage of project progress which is very helpful.

Cons

There aren't too many downsides but a few areas could definitely be improved. It's missing project budgeting and project timeline features and the mobile version is not very convenient to use. Adding images can be a bit difficult at times as well. Compared with other tools on the market, it offers fewer integrations and the emails it sends can sometimes become annoying. One last drawback is that customer support is not very strong or dependable.

Progress visibility

Pros

With its task management tools, our team can build a practical work plan together, assign resources to individual tasks and quickly pull reports and completion metrics to track how things are moving. Whenever I or anyone on the team updates a task, those changes are automatically saved and visible to everyone else right away. That feature is especially valuable because it keeps the whole team working from the most accurate and efficient schedule possible which really helps maintain motivation and improve productivity over time. Its integrations and connections with many other applications are also a big plus especially when someone needs the flexibility to move between systems.

Cons

To be honest I have nothing to share when it comes to cons.
