Task tracking that keeps up

Pros

Keeping long lists of outstanding tasks organized is where Asana really helps. It makes it simple to stay on top of everything and keep each task updated by status as work moves along.

Cons

There's still too much manual data entry involved though and it would be a lot better if there were an integration with Excel.

Versatile fit for complex workflows

Pros

Across several different project workflows that don't seem connected at first glance, this software has worked really well for us. One thing that stands out is how easily I can swap in remote replacements with the same skill sets without causing any disruption. I am very happy with the software overall.

Cons

For what we need the software actually performs even better than advertised.

Organized team communication

Pros

Getting everyone on the same page with Asana has been really simple. My team and I can communicate with each other in a much more organized way which keeps our work and conversations clear.

Cons

I'd still love to see more customization options and added workflow flexibility. It would be even better if it could also function as a CRM.

Top powerful collaboration

Pros

Right from the start Asana felt faster and more adaptable than any other software I have used. It offers a ton of features, lets you look across multiple projects and works especially well for team collaboration. I have genuinely been very happy with it.

Cons

Since I am often on the move, the mobile app feels a bit limited and that's probably its weakest point. That said it can also be a nice reminder not to keep working while I am out and about.

Helpful for remote teamwork

Pros

Between remote work, meetings with colleagues, task management, assignment reminders and workflow tracking, these are the features I rely on most in this software. They really help me stay organized and keep up with my office work.

Cons

One thing that could be better is integration with other tools especially something like Office 365.

Reliable task views but pricey

Pros

The interface is clear and simple to use. As a task management tool, it really fits what I need since it offers calendar, list and Kanban views so all the essential ways I want to organize work are covered.

Cons

The pricing is higher than Trello which is part of Atlassian and that honestly caught me off guard. For bigger teams especially, there are other tools that come in much cheaper. It also lacks some features needed to qualify as a full project management platform, like planning and tracking resources or expenses.

Excellent visibility for team tasks

Pros

It works well as a shared space where multidisciplinary teams can keep all upcoming tasks visible in one place. The alerts and project tracking are easy to use which helps everyone stay focused on what needs to get done and the analytics are amazing and useful for reporting.

Cons

Even though the platform is generally simple to use, it can still feel complicated for people who are not very familiar with this kind of software. A much simpler user guide could help solve that.

Top project tracking that delivers

Pros

Keeping my projects organized has become much more manageable with this product. It lets me quickly check the progress of everything in one place which frees up more time for me to focus on other work.

Cons

One thing I'd really like to see is the ability to assign more than one user to a task. There are definitely situations where that would be really useful.

Excellent templates for teams

Pros

The project templates are excellent and the free features are provided without a bunch of ads getting in the way. I use it with my team at work and everyone considers it really useful.

Cons

At this point I haven't run into any real drawbacks. It can feel a bit confusing At the beginning but once you start using it regularly, it becomes easy to learn.

Team project management win

Pros

It makes it simple to set up projects and keep them organized with your team.

Cons

Getting started can be a bit frustrating at first since there's a learning curve but most people seem to pick it up pretty quickly.

Powerful charts, limited value

Pros

Asana does offer some pretty powerful functionality especially when it comes to creating and managing projects with Gantt-style charts but since we've moved over to Agile, a lot of that now feels unnecessary for the way we work.

Cons

At the end of the day anything it handles can usually be done better by other tools or at a lower cost.

Versatile task tracking delight

Pros

The tool is simple to use and it didn't take long to understand how everything works. It's versatile in what it can do and the templates are especially useful for 1:1s or any other setup where you need to organize tasks with your manager or team. The free version also offers a lot of functionality which is a big plus. The reminders have honestly been a lifesaver and the little unicorn celebrations when tasks get completed are a fun bonus.

Cons

One area that seems less user friendly is attaching pictures or files compared with other programs. Not everything supports drag and drop either which can be a little frustrating. Moving tasks between groups also gets a bit fiddly at times.

Quick setup

Pros

Installing it and going through the tutorial were both easy. One person on our team learned it first and then showed the rest of us how to use it.

Cons

At this point I haven't run into any features that felt hard to use. We also haven't had the chance to explore every function and feature yet.

Powerful task tracking hub

Pros

Asana serves as a complete hub for setting up projects organizing workflow, tracking progress, assigning tasks and carrying everything through to the finish line. It even throws in the little rainbow unicorn animation which adds a fun touch. Even when projects include complex dependencies and sub-tasks, there are several different ways to view and keep an eye on everything.

Cons

Some users might feel the interface looks a bit plain and not especially inspiring. We also thought the way multiple workplaces are handled was somewhat unusual. On top of that it takes a fair amount of planning and setup to create a workspace that stays organized and doesn't end up cluttered with too many scattered tasks and responsibilities.

Top helpful task tracking

Pros

The mobile app has been really useful for staying on top of all my tasks and it does a good job of helping our branch collaborate better as a team.

Cons

One thing that still gets in the way is the interface. Even after almost two years of using it, I still sometimes struggle to figure out where certain things are.

Better task board dates

Pros

When a project has a start date or an end date, having those dates displayed at the top of the task board in date order would be really helpful.

Cons

The board view doesn't line anything up by date.

Powerful features

Pros

The feature set is impressive and the interface is very easy to use. It really helps structure my thinking and keep things organized. The educational resources they provide are also excellent.

Cons

The biggest downside is the cost for teams and the free version becomes much more limited if you're not paying.

Excellent visibility for deadlines

Pros

Across company-wide projects with important deadlines, Asana has been really effective for collaboration. We still rely on other tools when they fit better, like our ERP system or email but those naturally leave gaps. Not every team uses the same platforms and not every project belongs inside those systems anyway. Asana is flexible enough to handle almost anything and the graphs along with the Kanban and Gantt views do an excellent job of keeping the whole team aligned on progress and current status.

Cons

It does connect with some platforms but in the end, the tool is only as reliable as the information entered into it. Stakeholders have to keep the data current, otherwise there's a real risk of people making decisions based on outdated information if the system isn't maintained properly.

Quick team onboarding win

Pros

It is easy to use for almost anyone. Most of the main features can be explained to teammates in less than an hour and there are also lots of resources out there if you want to learn on your own.

Cons

I noticed that it doesn't offer as much customization as some other tools out there. That said the pricing is lower so it makes sense that you won't get quite as many advanced options at that price point.
