Flexible project management

Pros

The platform keeps things simple and user friendly, with a really modern UX and plenty of ways to manage different kinds of projects efficiently.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is more advanced built-in time-tracking, similar to what apps like Harvest offer.

Friendly tool for work planning

Pros

Asana is very user friendly and it doesn't take long to learn how to use it. It's been really helpful for organizing my time and staying on top of work tasks.

Cons

The thing that can be frustrating is moving a completed task to another place. At times I also wish the dashboard felt cleaner and less cluttered.

Highly project tracking that delivers

Pros

Keeping tabs on several projects at once became much more manageable with this tool, whether they were my own tasks or work assigned to teammates. Also it is easy to mark progress, notify team members and even use it for direct communication when needed.

Cons

I'd still like to see it connect with more third-party tools so notifications can come through faster.

Useful features, extra upkeep

Pros

It is fairly easy to use. Plus it offers plenty of useful features for setting up tasks and reminders and I can also share tasks and projects while seeing what everyone else is working on.

Cons

I am not really sold on this product. It's meant to help us keep track of what needs to be done and lay things out on a timeline but to me it ends up feeling like one more system we have to maintain which takes extra time on its own. It may be better suited for other purposes but for accounting and finance I don't think it works especially well. Then again, I may just need more time to fully adjust to it.

Team visibility that transforms work

Pros

Across our organization this has become one of the most valuable tools we use. My favorite part is how it can be rolled out company-wide while still working as a detailed task management system for each individual team member. Being able to set up teams and projects, then assign tasks within each one, gives excellent visibility into who owns what and what still needs to be completed to stay on schedule. It has truly been a game changer for both our company and for me personally.

Cons

It's both a strength and a drawback that the platform is packed with so many features and tools. The biggest challenge for my team and me was the learning curve. There's a lot in it and not every function is immediately clear so some useful tools can end up going unused simply because people do not realize they are there or do not fully understand them yet. Taking the time to really learn the platform makes a huge difference and in the end it is absolutely worth it.

Productive teamwork across devices

Pros

Working with Asana across multiple devices has been really convenient. The to-do features help keep me motivated about upcoming tasks and the progress tracking makes it easier to estimate how much time a project will need before it's completed. It also lets you organize all your projects in a very effective way. Another strong point is the communication feature which is useful for sharing ideas, suggestions and updates with colleagues, teammates and co-workers. On top of that the pricing feels affordable considering the wide range of features it offers.

Cons

I use this app regularly to manage my office work and honestly there isn't much to dislike. Of course, people always hope for even better features. The only thing that gets a little annoying at times is the notifications but if you stay on top of them regularly, kind of like checking Facebook, it's not really a big problem. Overall it's a very effective tool.

Organized projects, zero misses

Pros

Asana keeps everything organized so nothing slips through the cracks with my projects. Being able to turn an email directly into a task is really useful and I also appreciate that I can arrange my to-do list in whatever order works best for me.

Cons

I haven't come across any features I dislike. It's a great product for managing projects and collaborating with coworkers.

Task breakdown boosts teamwork

Pros

Breaking complex work into smaller tasks makes it much easier to organize projects and assign responsibilities across the team so everyone can work toward the same goal. It's a really good app for keeping execution aligned with objectives.

Cons

The downside is the cost since it's quite expensive to purchase, run and maintain. The free trial period is also very short which doesn't leave much time to properly evaluate it.

Top flexible teamwork

Pros

Working with my team in Asana has been a huge help for creating projects organizing tasks and schedules and setting up dependencies. Even when some of the people I collaborate with are not actively using it, I can still keep track of their items there. It saves me from trying to remember everything in my head or scribbling notes on random pieces of paper. The communication inside each task is especially useful too since it keeps important details from getting buried in email threads. There's a ton of functionality and plenty of ways to customize it based on what your team actually needs. The paid version also adds some really valuable features especially dependencies and custom labels or tags which make it even more useful.

Cons

Getting the setup right for your own workflow can feel a little overwhelming At first especially when you're trying to decide the best way to structure everything. Once it starts coming together though, it works really well. At times I have had to just begin with a basic setup and then tweak things as the project moves along and I get a better sense of which features and elements I actually need. Pricing could be a drawback for some people but the free version still offers a lot of value.

Fantastic for daily task tracking

Pros

Every day I rely on it to stay on top of assignments, projects and everything else I am juggling. It makes collaboration really simple and assigning tasks to coworkers is easy too.

Cons

One thing I have noticed is that I am probably not taking full advantage of everything it can do. I do wish the site had more how-to guides or tutorials to keep users updated on new features as they're released.

Versatile project views

Pros

It works well for both my business needs and personal tasks. Being able to create separate projects and switch between board, list and calendar views is really useful. The calendar is especially helpful and my team makes good use of the app's comments section along with the option to upload photos and other attachments.

Cons

Getting the initial setup right with different organizations and folders was a little confusing and I accidentally ended up creating separate accounts.

Team tasks stay visible

Pros

Keeping my department organized is much simpler with this because I can create tasks that everyone can see so it's clear what needs to be completed and what's still pending.

Cons

One thing that gets a bit cluttered is how completed tasks are handled. When tasks repeat, the finished ones don't disappear on their own and there's no bulk option to delete or archive them.

Fantastic for projects

Pros

One thing I really like about it is how well it works not just for company projects but also for organizing individual work especially as a freelancer. It helps me plan and monitor projects for my clients as well as my own tasks and I can also share everything across different teams. Once you get used to working with it, it's hard to imagine not using it anymore.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints so far aside from one small thing as there are so many features and options available in both the free and paid plans that it can feel a bit overwhelming at times.

Versatile workflow boost

Pros

Asana has been really useful for making our workflow more dynamic and efficient. It helps a lot with staying organized, planning tasks and sharing files or information properly. The platform is quite versatile and it saves time in a way that can really benefit the whole team when working with clients.

Cons

I do not have much negative to say about it as an application because it is very useful for day to day work. It helps our team perform well and feels like a strong alternative or even a better option, compared with Trello in some cases. The only thing I would point out is that the free trial could allow more than 15 users since a larger company would not really be able to test it properly and get employees used to it without having to start paying right away.

Top fantastic for team collaboration

Pros

It is excellent for team collaboration. The comments tied to team work show up Right away and that's extremely useful when you need to stay updated on what your team is doing.

Cons

I don't like is that the software makes it a bit difficult to track all pending items at once and you have to mark each one individually as done.

Fantastic team coordination boost

Pros

Asana has been an excellent management tool for our company. The built-in communication features work really well and have helped us reduce the amount of email we send which has been a huge plus.

Cons

One thing I really don't care for is the 100MB file upload limit even on the more expensive plan. That feels restrictive especially since Trello allows files up to 250MB. If the choice were mine, I'd honestly go with Trello for that reason.

Perfect fit for small teams

Pros

This has been a really amazing choice for our smaller team especially because it's budget-friendly. We can organize team projects well and setting up recurring monthly projects is a big plus. It keeps everyone accountable and helps us stay on track with deadlines and timelines.

Cons

It doesn't offer as many advanced features as some of the other platforms we first considered but for a smaller team like ours, it still ends up being a very good fit.

Clean workspace for team alignment

Pros

Using this platform has been a really positive experience because the interface is simple, clean and very easy to navigate even when there are tons of projects happening at once. It works especially well for keeping tasks and projects aligned with clients and partners which makes collaboration feel much more organized.

Cons

One area that still trips me up is the difference between the my tasks section and the home/list section when I am assigned to projects. I usually end up relying more on the home/list view because it lets me see all active tasks at once along with their details, while my tasks seems more like a running list of assignments without much project context. I am still not really sure what the best way is to use that section.

Flexible project management favorite

Pros

Asana does a really nice job covering the core parts of project management while keeping collaboration front and center. I started using it back in the early days around 2012 and I have gone back to it on and off ever since. Lately, I keep returning because it feels like one of the more complete options out there, while still being flexible and simple to pick up.

Cons

My biggest frustration is the choice to lock newer features behind a paywall. I understand why that makes sense from a business perspective but I still think a better approach would be giving users access to the full feature set for free and limiting the number of users instead. At the moment, the free plan allows collaboration with up to 15 people per workspace and I'd rather see that number reduced if it meant full access to the features.

Top quick team onboarding win

Pros

One of Asana's biggest strengths is how easy it is to get started. The interface is very clear and simple so team members do not need much training to feel comfortable using it. For a small nonprofit with limited staff and many volunteers, that makes a huge difference.

Cons

Since it's really designed as a collaborative project management tool some of the features for handling an individual personal task list could be stronger. Even with that, I'd still take the fast team onboarding and usability over having a few more advanced options in that area.
