Helpful tutorials

Pros

The software is pretty easy to use and the large number of simple how-to videos made learning everything even better.

Cons

The built-in communication feature also creates one more place I have to keep checking regularly which can be a bit inconvenient.

Team visibility done right

Pros

After using this tool for about ten months, it has been very easy to learn. What I like most are how accessible it is for the whole team, the notifications and that everyone can see changes right away as they happen. It's also really helpful for adding detailed info to tasks and keeping work organized by setting up different projects.

Cons

One thing I still wish it offered is the ability to assign a single task to multiple people. I understand that assigning a task to just one person helps keep ownership clear but that missing option makes things harder on my end because I have to duplicate the same task just to assign it to several people.

Task tracking across devices

Pros

Being able to keep up with my day to day tasks without any hassle on both my desktop and the iPhone app has been a huge plus.

Cons

Every now and then, the copy-and-paste feature doesn't behave the way I expect when I'm trying to duplicate a similar task and then edit it. It's possible I may be missing a step.

Flexible tracking that keeps teams on point

Pros

It has been really versatile for managing tasks especially when it comes to customizing task templates and setting objectives. It gives a lot of flexibility and tracking progress is easy through the task tracker. The visual progress percentage makes it even easier to keep an eye on how things are moving and the deadline reminders help make sure I don't forget to complete tasks that have been assigned to me.

Cons

Other than the expensive pricing plan, I honestly don't have anything else to complain about. We rely heavily on this software because it helps us stay efficient with collaboration, task management and integrations with other services in our system.

Team visibility that keeps projects moving

Pros

One of the best things about Asana is how clearly it shows what everyone on the team is working on, no matter how many people are involved. It's really useful for collaborative projects too since team members can comment, assign tasks and notify the next person when something needs their attention. The tracking tools also add a lot of accountability by showing when tasks were assigned and keeping a record of the related communication.

Cons

Like most platforms it does come with a bit of a learning curve especially for new hires who haven't used it before. It can also feel pretty overwhelming when you open a project and there are already a huge number of tasks in the queue since seeing everything at once can be a lot to take in.

Versatile boards

Pros

Being able to share work boards and assign resources makes collaboration much better. It's also very helpful for tracking project progress and handling issue management alongside resource planning. On top of team use, it works well as a personal task board too. The reminder notifications are useful, recurring tasks can be set up without trouble and the interface is well designed for quick access.

Cons

The analytics still feel a bit limited especially when it comes to showing how much progress each user has made and how much time they've taken.

Highly recommended

Pros

It came highly recommended by two people in my network and both of them seemed to work really well with it while also getting their teams fully on board.

Cons

I just couldn't adapt my own workflow to it. Parts of it didn't seem user friendly to me and I came away feeling like it needed a deliberate setup upfront. I simply didn't have the time to really sit down and learn it properly during onboarding.

Productive task tracking throughout

Pros

Asana gives me a lot of flexibility to manage tasks through every stage, from the beginning all the way to completion. I can clearly track what is in progress and what is done and that really helps boost my productivity at work.

Cons

At this point I have not come across any real downsides with the software. The only thing left for me is to explore more of its features and figure out how to use it even more effectively.

user friendly workflow

Pros

Running projects in Asana feels modern whether the work is small-scale or much larger. It's one of the most user friendly project management tools I've used and getting comfortable with it doesn't take long at all. On top of that the interface is highly customizable and visually appealing which makes day to day use a lot more enjoyable. It has definitely felt worth the cost.

Cons

One area where it still falls short is time tracking. There isn't a built-in way to monitor how much time is being spent on a specific task or project. The third-party integrations for this are excellent but I'd still really like to see native time tracking added in the future.

Flexible views that fit everyone

Pros

Having multiple ways to look at the same information like lists, cards, timelines and more is really what won me over because everyone prefers to work differently and view data in their own way. It's also simple to use, easy to share with clients, the custom fields are a nice touch and the Jira integration is very helpful.

Cons

From an admin perspective, the one thing that would make this much more complete is being able to prioritize work at the individual level, not just at the project level. If that were added, it would cover about 90% of what I want and 100% of what I absolutely need.

Powerful team coordination tools

Pros

It covers pretty much everything needed to keep a company connected and on top of task management. It has a full set of features that helps teams stay organized, collaborate well and keep work moving in one place.

Cons

One part I'm not crazy about is the number of channels and shared groups. It can feel overwhelming At times and there have been several instances where I completely missed messages because so much was happening all at once.

Better goal tracking

Pros

Asana has really helped with tracking development work and putting clear numbers around goals. It also offers several ways to organize and manage schedules which makes planning much more practical.

Cons

The one thing I'd still like to see is built-in time tracking so it's possible to measure team member effectiveness more accurately.

Reliable project tracking hub

Pros

Our team adopted Asana years ago and we've stuck with it ever since. Sure, there are other tools built specifically for CRM, ticketing, budgets and expenses but when it comes to managing one project or several At the same time Asana genuinely does the job well.

Cons

The newer versions have introduced more and more project templates and that makes the platform feel a bit more crowded than it used to. I honestly miss the simplicity of the earlier versions. It takes a little cleanup at the start to remove what you don't actually need and once that's done, it works fine.

Handy mobile app

Pros

Asana was fast to get going with and setting everything up didn't take much work. Inviting people and creating teams within the platform is easy which made onboarding simple. The mobile app is also very reliable and works well for assigning tasks to remote employees when you're away from your desk.

Cons

One limitation is that it feels more like an advanced, highly customizable task management tool than a full project management system. It works very well for simpler projects but it's not as strong when handling more complex ones.

Flexible fit for any team

Pros

This one keeps things simple while still being really flexible. There are so many ways to set it up and use it that it can work well for almost any organization.

Cons

Anyone who wants very tight control may not enjoy it as much. The options for managing user permissions and controlling workflows are fairly limited.

Helpful task tracking, limited oversight

Pros

It works well as an entry level tool for managing work in an agile way and it's useful for teams that need to keep track of tasks. The desktop and mobile experience looks amazing and is genuinely helpful which makes the platform very simple to use.

Cons

From a senior project manager's perspective though, it's not the most supportive tool to work with. It isn't very practical for tracking the full project, handling budgets, monitoring workload or creating custom reports.

Fantastic project tracking visibility

Pros

The tool is easy to set up and run and it works well across devices for visualizing and tracking project progress. Also it covers a few functionality gaps that our CRM tool doesn't handle.

Cons

The downside is that it adds yet another collaboration platform I need to switch between so the bigger challenge is really consolidating other tools rather than replacing it.

Pros

It works really well for team collaboration across projects, while also helping with task management, data organization, data presentation and setting goals.

Organized teamwork

Pros

Keeping work organized has been much better with Asana. It lets me assign tasks, set due dates, collaborate with other team members and manage file attachments without much hassle. I really enjoy using it to keep our team's responsibilities in order.

Cons

One part that could be better is the inbox view since it can feel cluttered at times. Because of the expanded view for each task some updates can end up getting buried or overlooked.

Reliable teamwork

Pros

After trying several project and task management tools, I keep returning to Asana. The platform is simple to work with and the collaboration features with teammates are the part I appreciate the most.

Cons

There's very little for me to complain about with it. If anything, I'd like to see deeper integration with Excel and Outlook but aside from that, I really don't have anything I dislike about the software.
