We've had the Assembly Legal "Essentials" tier since 2021. The interface is very difficult to operate. It is not user-friendly. It creates more busywork than anything else. After almost 5 years, I decided to make a change. When I did, I was notified that my subscription had automatically renewed for yet another "minimum term," and that I could not cancel my subscription until the end of this 12-month term. This was news to me since my monthly invoices indicate that my subscription is "monthly" and the contract I signed in April 2021 was for a minimum term of 12 months. Also, it took about five days for them to produce the original contract. Like really, you lost the contract that you're using to hold me hostage? Probably just a delay tactic. The contract, funny enough, only refers to a minimum 12-month term. Nothing about renewal. Turns out that they hide the information about their automatic renewal for a new "minimum term" in their "Terms and Conditions," which is incorporated by reference into the sales order. I consider this to be a predatory practice. I told my sales rep that I wanted to cancel, and of course they want to do a call and try to convince me to not leave. I made the mistake of answering once. The call included fake tears from the sales rep., and her saying that “she’s new.” Ma’am, you’ve been my rep for almost a year, and for that entire time you’ve ignored me. We've now been going back and forth for a week. I've said that I want to cancel several times now and it was NOT ACKNOWLEDGED until I sent a formal letter on office letterhead. -Another predatory attempt to wrangle me into another year long term. If this company had a decent product, they would not use these deceitful practices to try to lull customers into an additional term. I’m hoping that my bad experience will save someone else from these predatory and deceitful practices.

simple redemption with helpful support

Pros

The redemption process is pretty simple and foolproof so even new users can get through it without headaches. Setting up workflows for people to join is easy too and rewards are distributed randomly to those who participate. And it works equally well whether I'm using it as an experienced corporate user or someone working out in the field. Their customer service is also responsive and helpful when flow issues pop up.

Cons

For me travel redemption still feels limited. As I'd love the option to book just flights on their own without having to bundle a hotel or car. That flexibility would make it much more useful for my plans.

Fast rewards with gift choices

Pros

It is pretty easy to use with fast access to reward points and redemptions. Overall Assembly delivers great value for a lot of people and offers a broad range of gift choices.

Cons

To date I have not come across anything I dislike about using this service as its ease of use has been outstanding.

Builds team vibe remotely

Pros

I really love the user experience as it helps build a positive team vibe, boosts engagement and makes the workplace more pleasant. And that's been especially valuable for remote coworkers who rarely get to chat outside of formal meetings.

Cons

It would really help if the app offered prompts or sample messages so it's easier to get started when I am short on creative ideas.

Recognition points become personal vouchers

Pros

Assembly app lets me acknowledge my coworkers and as I pile up those recognition points I can redeem them for vouchers to buy things I actually like.

Cons

I think it would be great if there were more ways to cash in the points I earn. As off right now I find the redemption choices limited and wish they partnered with more brands and franchises.

remote teams bond through groups

Pros

One thing I really value about Assembly is how it builds community through recognition tools and the activity feed. We create groups around shared interests which makes people feel even more connected. And since our company is fully remote, keeping that team bond is really important and thisone helps a lot with that.

Cons

Nothing too major but I would like a simpler way to narrow down posts because at the moment I usually have to scroll through the feed to track down the particular post I'm searching for which can be time-consuming.

easy interface with gift cards

Pros

This platform makes it easy for everyone to recognize and celebrate each other's wins and I really like how simple the interface is. Also gift cards are easy to claim and come with a wide range of options so giving and receiving rewards feels effortless.

Cons

Right now 250 points = $25 and 500 points = $50 but there is no bonus for higher tiers. For example 1,000 points still only equals $100. So I wish the value scaled better so you'd get a little extra once you reach bigger amounts.

Rewards redeemable for charity donations

Pros

Assembly offer an excellent way to reward team members. Also it's simple and enjoyable to use and I like that I can cash in rewards for gift cards or donate them to a charity.

Cons

While using the app I had difficulty finding the Log Out button. Otherwise I didn't encounter any other problems or concerns.

fun game-like recognition experience

Pros

As someone who uses it often I think it's the best tool for recognizing employees. It makes the whole process simple and turns recognition into a fun, game-like experience everyone can enjoy.

Cons

To be honest I don't have many complaints but I do wish I could send recognition without having to add text. That's something they could improve.

Rarely used despite being good

Pros

I like that it gives us one simple place to share recognition so those messages don't get lost in email, Teams or Slack.

Cons

Since it does not connect with the other tools our company uses I end up logging in and using it very rarely.

simple access with quick posts

Pros

What I like is how simple it is for anyone to access and use the platform. I can also create a post or check others posts very quickly and with minimal effort.

Cons

That said I wish there were more updates throughout the week not just the weekly activity email. And even though I can log in anytime to see what's happened, I still miss the reminders and would appreciate more frequent ones.

clean interface with gift cards

Pros

Assembly makes peer recognition simple and clear which really boosts team morale. The interface is also clean so giving points or leaving a comment only takes a few seconds. I also like the gift card marketplace as it has enough variety that rewards feel meaningful, not just like a gimmick.

Cons

I've noticed the mobile alerts can get pretty loud unless you change the settings. Also a fair number of the reward options seem focused on the US market and when things are busy I have experienced slower responses from support.

Smooth onboarding with clean navigation

Pros

I like how clean the web interface is. Also it is easy to navigate, simple to use and makes onboarding really smooth.

Cons

When posts get too long they often get hidden and sometimes even the photos don't show up. That really frustrates me.

The thing I like most is the variety of reward categories available to redeem like gift cards for lots of restaurants and other useful services.

Pros

One thing I really like about Assembly is how simple it makes recognizing and rewarding people on my team. Plus I find the interface very user-friendly and the clean layout turns giving and receiving shout-outs into an enjoyable activity. I also love that the recognition programs are highly customizable and there are lots of different reward choices which I consider major advantages.

Cons

That said because it includes so many features, I did notice it takes a little while to learn and to set everything up the way I prefer. I wouldn't call it hard but I did notice a modest learning curve when trying to use some of the more advanced settings if I wanted to make the most of them.

Public recognition with meaningful rewards

Pros

I really like Assembly's approach as it lets me publicly recognize teammates and give them meaningful rewards at the same time.

Cons

Honestly there is not much I dislike about it. My only minor complaint is that when I'm giving recognition there is a limit on how many points I can award which feels restrictive.

steady innovation with attentive support

Pros

What I like most is the steady innovation and growth. As the platform regularly improves in a way that's not disruptive which helps it better meet employee needs and support retention. Their customer support also stands out as team members respond quickly and attentively making sure things run smoothly and we are set up for success.

Cons

One area that could improve is how emails are customized and sent. I'd like to see ongoing updates here but as I said, I am confident these will come as the product develops.

actually works with daily routine

Pros

I have tried many platforms that claim to improve employee recognition but Assembly actually works. Also it is very easy to earn and redeem rewards and the integrations make it simple to fit into my teams daily routine.

Cons

The only issue I noticed is that the platform needs better filtering for employees and those filters should stay in place. For example since we are a global company, U.S staff sometimes see reward options meant only for employees in other countries.

Slack integration with flexible rewards

Pros

Assembly makes it easy to recognize teammates in a fun and meaningful way. Our team loves the Slack integration too and I really like the birthday and work-anniversary shout-outs as they add a personal touch. Getting started was quick and easy too so everyone learned fast. The rewards system is flexible and motivating which helps keep people engaged. Plus pricing is fair, reports are reliable and support has been great whenever we have had questions. Overall it's really improved our teams vibe.

Cons

Not much to complain about. One small annoyance is that notifications can sometimes be too frequent especially in larger teams. Luckily the controls are fully customizable so you can adjust them to your liking.

Great selection of reward brands

Pros

The thing I like is that I can choose from a great selection of brands. Plus having so many options makes using it more satisfying and worthwhile.

Cons

Up to now I have not run into any problems. Redeeming rewards is quick and really easy and I have not seen any error messages or trouble using it.
