It keeps messages, to-dos, files and schedules all together in one place which makes staying organized a lot easier. On a remote team project, the message board helped cut down on long email chains that kept drifting off-topic and the automatic check-ins made it simple to keep everyone accountable without feeling like anyone was being micromanaged.

It does fall short when it comes to advanced functionality for more complex projects. The interface is also simple but it is a bit dated next to newer, more modern tools.

No matter your size or who you are, they really make you feel welcome. They work directly with us and genuinely build the product for teams like ours.

Compared with other project management tools I have used before, this one felt much simpler. The interface was pleasant to look at, the layout made more sense and it highlighted the things that actually mattered. It also didn't take long to get comfortable with so the learning curve felt very reasonable.

One downside was the lack of a direct Slack integration. To connect the two, I had to rely on a third-party app. It also seems like the platform isn't as popular as it used to be.

Having one user friendly place for shared document storage has been a huge improvement for our team. It works better than Google Docs for us because files aren't tied to one person's dedicated account so when the original creator leaves, access doesn't suddenly become a problem. That solved a major issue for our multidisciplinary team and made collaboration much more reliable.

On top of that it comes with strong data security features that keep our project information protected. The Gantt charts are also a big plus because they help us plan and organize tasks properly.

Basecamp comes with a very broad set of features and handles large projects really well even when bigger teams and a lot of moving parts are involved. The file storage, discussion threads and to-do tools are all genuinely useful and overall it gives you a lot to work with.

For smaller projects, it can feel a bit too complex and more than you actually need. It also takes some adjustment to line it up with your preferred communication cadence and feature usage, plus a little training is helpful for both internal and external team members.
