Basecamp Software

Basecamp software is an online project management solution that runs on the cloud. It's best for small projects that require collaboration and discussion. Basecamp is a real-time communication platform that keeps teams on the same page; but it is also used for managing projects (e.g., resource planning and long-term scheduling). Basecamp helps teams keep track of objectives and urgent tasks via to-do lists, calendaring, deadlines, and file sharing.

Basecamp has been focusing on building a simple interface for users to start projects, track progress, and manage tasks since 2004. It is a web-based application that allows users to sign in from anywhere, at any time, using a web browser or apps interoperable with a wide range of mobile devices. You can schedule a basecamp demo.

Basecamp Key Features

User friendly

Basecamp's popularity stems from the fact that it is simple to use for teams. The programme provides a comprehensive view of the company's ongoing activities and allows each team to handle their projects through a single interface. You may also make sure you're up to date by utilising Basecamp. By default, you'll get notifications when someone remarks on your tasks, and you'll see them on the "Hey!" tab.

Seamless Integrations

One of the most important aspects to look for in a project management solution is the ability to integrate apps—and if so, which ones you can and cannot. Basecamp integrates with a number of industry-standard apps.

Increases Productivity

With several project management solutions available today, deciding which one is best for your team can be difficult. Basecamp is one of numerous good options that makes project collaboration simple for businesses. It's simple to make to-do lists and set deadlines, and it's also simple to track the progress of everything in your company. While Basecamp lacks a handful of valuable, advanced functions, it more than suffices when it comes to improving internal communication. A lot of Basecamp reviews talk about this feature in particular

Basecamp Cost

Basecamp Business has a monthly subscription of $99 or a yearly fee of $999. A 10% discount is available for nonprofits and charity. Users seem to be very happy with Basecamp pricing. The software also has a free version and offers a free trial.

Basecamp Reviews

Basecamp is a very loved project management software. Basecamp reviews from its current users have been very positive. The software has an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars. We would recommend you to check out its reviews online during your research.

Our Thoughts

Basecamp is a fantastic project management solution for enterprises of all sizes, from small teams to giant corporations. Subscribing to the program is recommended for users who want an overview of their projects, the ability to simply lay them out, and the ability to build easy to-do lists. Basecamp is useful for teams working remotely as well as those in the office in terms of location. Basecamp's personal plan may be beneficial for managing tasks for students. However, if you want to use it to cooperate with others on anything more major, you may find it to be a bit pricey.

Excellent Choice for construction project management

December 2022

Maszni A.

Construction

Pros:
It has a well-thought-out dashboard with every feature and menu in the place you expect them to be. I have been working more efficiently since I can quickly locate the tools I require. All of my projects and their development can be seen visually, making it simpler to understand their progress and level of completion.
Cons:
Task management is basically useless since a lot of the tools required to manage complicated projects are missing. Dashboard is fantastic, but its look and feel are dated.

A discrete, fun way to manage your projects

Marketing

Pros:
It is SO helpful to be able to add clients to a project while keeping them (as far as we want) away from project information. The ability to manage the client without them knowing what is going on behind the scenes is a function we use on a daily basis.
Cons:
Task lists are rather straightforward. You won't be happy with this one if you're used to to-do lists with plenty of features (including images, color coding, sub-checklists in a to-do, etc.). And even though I thought Basecamp's "me" tab was easy to use and intuitive, we find that new team members almost never quickly learn how to make the most of it.

One of the best so far!

Information Technology and Services

Pros:
Ever since we started using Basecamp as our sole way of communicating between all the team members, we have never looked back! All the ideas and critical information are exchanged right on the platform, and we are reminded of when and what to do through helpful check-ins.
Cons:
All is well with Basecamp. I would just like them to add an option to allow team members to join the same topic between pings. It would make otherwise great software even better!

Efficient and effective PM tool

Recruitment Specialist

Pros:
The UI of Basecamp is simple but effective. All the projects we are currently working on are neatly presented on the home page, and navigating between them is a breeze. It is simple to communicate with every team member with a helpful tagging feature. I have simply opted out of any pointless notifications to minimize distractions.
Cons:
While the user interface is great, they could do with an update to the "user experience." There are occasional bugs that do get fixed from time to time, but they keep popping up.

It is not perfect, but has the ability to take care of all your PM needs

Product Manager

Pros:
Given that it allows for an unlimited number of users and projects, Basecamp is most likely the best project management solution for the money. I found it to be a very efficient tool at managing project and document repositories, which I have used for a very large team to organize meetings, documents, and straightforward tasks. Its navigation is also quite easy to master.
Cons:
Basecamp lacks when it comes to tracking tools and document editing. Copy-pasted content from a Word document doesn't copy the formatting correctly, and the lack of multiple headings or the ability to add tables to a document is annoying.

Overall, a highly dependable and noteworthy team management app!

Education Management

Pros:
I love how simple it is to start a project, add tasks, and allocate them. It is a very simple process and usually takes little of my time to get the team up and running. It essentially creates very transparent to-do lists for your team, improving accountability to complete tasks.
Cons:
Basecamp's visuals could be improved to keep up with some of its rivals. Important information ends up getting lost in the comments, so I have to be very careful how my team interacts with each other to keep the confusion to a minimum.

Basecamp will make task management easy for you!

Staffing and recruiting

Pros:
Basecamp has been a great tool for our team as all the projects and tasks are allocated by the managers and peers on this platform, making it easy for everyone to keep track of them. Basecamp provides easy communication via comments, which makes it very convenient to use. We have been using Basecamp as a project management and collaboration tool and love how it makes our lives easier
Cons:
Basecamp still doesn’t offer corporate-level video conferencing, which is a crucial feature for businesses with remote employees. Other than this, I have never experienced any issues when using Basecamp.

The best organizational management tool on the market

Samuel U.

Financial Services

Pros:
I love how Basecamp so effortlessly merges private and public chat, meeting scheduling calendars, task management tools, file sharing, and storage, etc. under one roof so you don't have to pay for a lot of different tools. Everything we require to conduct our business successfully is available here. Every team, project, and job has its own discussion and sharing scopes comparable to those of a group, and task creation and tracking are well structured.
Cons:
Comments often get tangled and complicated since they cannot be threaded to keep the chat free from clutter. Task management quickly gets difficult when this happens, and I am still waiting for an update to fix this.

Great for a small design firms

October 2022

Melanie Latrelle G.

Design

Pros:
Basecamp was suggested to me by another designer to manage web design jobs. I can keep everything for my client tasks in one location thanks to this software! I enjoy working with clients to establish a timeline and assign them duties. I also appreciate that we can link to Google documents as well as upload all of their documents. And all this can be easily done using a mobile device as well, which is really helpful.
Cons:
Using Basecamp for document storage without any training is similar to using Google Drive. I would appreciate it if Basecamp could provide some specific training videos that would help me train others on the advantages it offers and possibly convince them to switch.

Well worth your investment!

Information Technology and Services

Pros:
Basecamp is flexible enough to allow access to the APIs, which has allowed us to adapt it to interface with our internal and some external systems. which means it now does practically everything we need it to. Every project is monitored and managed using the app, and we can report on their costs at any time. Our project hours are logged against each project utilizing the API.
Cons:
I would like to be able to assign employees to projects with working hours to ensure they aren't swamped with work. Also, creating Gantt charts should have been at least an option.
