“The Leader in the Industry, but come with a price if you want to innovate”
Pros
In general, the app does exactly what it claims without any major surprises, and it's easy to set up for any IT manager.
Cons
The App is quite expensive, so it's important to check the ROI beforehand.

“Hack App for the win!”
Pros
Brightidea makes it simple to establish initiatives for our Global Hack Day program. Submitting a project is easy for our employees, and the features for voting and commenting encourage great interaction among colleagues. As an administrator, I can easily customize pages using the widget editor.
Cons
BrightIdea is constantly improving their platform, but as an admin, it does have its quirks. Occasionally, it can be frustrating to match font sizes and colors on an HTML widget. The wide range of options can be overwhelming in the beginning and some features may not seem very intuitive. However, with time you get the hang of it.

“Great Innovation management tool”
Pros
The tool allows us to manage complex innovation programs that involve both employees and external actors like start-ups. It is very flexible and scales according to the ambitions of any innovation team. The evaluation tools are great, and the API library is amazing, allowing us to integrate new functionalities as well as other third-party systems.
Cons
The project management tools could be improved. However, I understand that it wasn't primarily designed as a PM system. I believe the front-end design could be slightly enhanced in future releases.

“Innovation Goals”
Pros
Implementation is easy, and the customer support is excellent. What is even better is that there are no painful updates. One of their team members even attended our event (prior to the Covid-19 era) to assist us with the launch.
Cons
I have no complaints at the moment. Building a culture of innovation takes time, but the platform is a great starting point!

I don't have any specific cons to mention, but it is important to remember that a cool platform alone doesn't change corporate culture...

“Great Innovation Platform!”
Pros
Compared to previous platforms we have used, I have found the customization features quite user-friendly. The ability to add steps and create rules in the innovation pipeline setup helps us create the necessary dynamics for our relatively complex innovation and product development process. Initially, integrating it with our processes posed some challenges, but over time we found ways to adapt the platform to our needs.
Cons
It would be a good improvement to have all the functionalities we enjoy on the desktop version available in the mobile app.

“Situational - Not as customisable as I'd like”
Pros
The speed at which new sites can be created is fantastic. If you don't require extensive customization, it is quite easy to set up a professional-looking site quickly.
Cons
Customizing and implementing things like workflows and editing the homepage format can be quite troublesome or inconsistent. It feels like there is a migration to a new interface that's only partially complete, leading to confusion when customizing different aspects of one page or site across multiple places.

“Great Way to Crowd-Source Ideas from your Employees”
Pros
Brightideas provides a quite comprehensive and robust platform that empowered our Innovation Team to establish a method for employees to share their ideas with management. The built-in "reward and recognition" system also incentivized ideas and was highly appreciated by our employees.
Cons
The learning curve for mastering this product is quite steep, and backend users will need extensive training with Brightidea representatives.

“Brightidea”
Pros
Brightidea is well-suited for hackathons and crowd-sourced challenges. Once the site is created, collecting ideas and progressing them through the pipeline is relatively simple.
Cons
Brightidea makes most tasks challenging. The backend feels outdated and unintuitive. Setting up a site is time-consuming, and there are three different setup areas, which can be confusing. Brightidea needs to make many updates.

“Quick and cheap platform to get an organization started on tracking initiatives”
Pros
It is easy to get started with Brightidea, and implementation doesn't require a lot of training or learning. The interface is user-friendly and doesn't take much time to learn.
Cons
There are many features and functionalities missing that would make an admin's life easier. It works best if someone on the admin side has knowledge of CSS and HTML.

Pros
It is very easy to learn the software and to set it to suit the needs of our initiative, as well as match the colors and theme of our company.

“Ideation software with built in features that you won't know you need until later”
Pros
Having served as an Enterprise Admin for 2 years, there are 4 main areas that stand out when considering what I like best about Bright Idea. Firstly, the end-user experience for those participating in a Challenge to submit, vote or comment on ideas. The interface is simple and intuitive. I haven't received any inquiries from end-users about how to use it or what to do. Grade: A+. The next area is Site (or Campaign) Administration, which is relevant for Challenge and Community Administrators who manage the campaigns. There is a slight learning curve, but it's easy to show Managers how to configure functional widgets that offer a wealth of functionality in an easy-to-use interface. The functional options range from simple to advanced and can cater to users with varying levels of expertise. Grade: A+. As an Enterprise Administrator, there are numerous customizable features for the enterprise-wide site or individual Challenge experiences. One minor complaint I have is that there are so many features that it can feel overwhelming when first learning the product. Grade: A. Finally, the Customer Service team is outstanding. They are highly responsive, easily understood, and available whenever needed. Their support has significantly contributed to the success of our use of Bright Idea. Grade: A++.
Cons
As an Enterprise Administrator, there is a learning curve for many functional options that can take some time to grasp. Additionally, I am not fond of certain terminologies, such as "webstorm."

“Brightidea for tracking new product introduction”
Pros
We are thrilled that Brightidea keeps a log of status changes as projects progress through our new product pipeline. The approval dependencies and historical data have proven to be highly valuable for tracking changes and reporting to regulatory agencies. It's also very useful to be able to view project inputs in different ways. We can sort projects by stage and export them into spreadsheets based on various criteria. The pipeline view helps us visualize where attention is required.
Cons
One issue we encountered was the inability to backdate projects. While we can adjust dates when exporting data from the Brightidea site, it would be useful to have the option to backdate projects since we can't always upload new products on the day they start. Nonetheless, the Brightidea team has been able to resolve any other problems that arose!
