Project control adapted for teams

Pros

ClickUp has turned into a really strong option for managing projects in mid-sized teams. It's flexible enough to handle most planning and oversight challenges that come up in more complex projects.

Cons

On the other hand it seems pretty confusing for personal use or very small teams. There are so many setup options that you can end up wasting a lot of time. That tradeoff makes sense if your organization is large enough to benefit from it but if you're working solo or in a tiny group trying to get things done, it may not be the right fit. Document management has gotten much better but it really only becomes useful if you plan to stay fully inside this ecosystem.

Planning and collaboration stayed flexible

Pros

This tool really stands out for how flexible it is. The collaboration side works really well and with multiple views like Board and Gantt, the team can manage work in whatever way suits them best. The calendar view is another feature I enjoyed because it makes deadlines and workload planning clear without needing to jump between different tools.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about it because everything worked perfectly while I was using it.

good tool

Pros

It packs a lot of power and flexibility into one platform. Being able to switch between List, Board, Calendar and Gantt views for the same projects is a huge plus. It really works as an all in one hub for us and that has cut down the constant back-and-forth between multiple apps for tasks, docs and team collaboration.

Cons

With that many features though the interface can feel crowded and a bit overwhelming when you first start using it. There's definitely a learning curve and it takes a fair amount of time and effort upfront to organize the workspace in a way that actually fits your team.

packed with features

Pros

Between the different boards, task lists and the option to switch between list and Kanban views this offers a lot even on the free plan. There are still plenty of features available that I have not even started exploring yet.

Cons

This may not really be a problem with the software itself but I have not managed to get my team fully integrated into it or stay consistent with using it. Because of that, I often end up going back to a Google Doc since it feels simpler.

Project tracking proved helpful

Pros

Working with this software has been a really positive experience. As the safety and fleet administrator for my company it has been genuinely useful whenever I need details about specific jobs we're handling, like who the project superintendents are or what the job number is.

Cons

It does come with a pretty big learning curve so it can feel somewhat complicated at times. To be honest, I still don't use most of the more advanced tools it offers.

Tracking powerhouse

Pros

Having everything organized in one place is what I value most about it. It gives me clear visibility into tasks and projects, makes team collaboration easier and lets me customize workflows based on what we need. Overall it's a very complete tool for keeping up with day to day work.

Cons

The part I like least is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many options and settings available. At times the interface seems overloaded which can make navigation slower until you get used to it.

teamwork adapted across all boards

Pros

Working with other teams on projects is really easy even when everything is spread across different boards and project spaces.

Cons

This might be a benefit for some teammates but on my side it can be frustrating that certain permissions prevent you from taking specific actions. That feels more like a setup issue than a problem with the software itself.

amazing automation tool

Pros

Keeping our department plans and projects organized has become much easier with this software. The ability to customize task views gives us the flexibility we need especially when managing workflows across different teams. The built-in automation is also very useful for handling recurring administrative work. On top of that the calendar feature does a good job of helping coordinate deadlines between departments and aligning them with the company's broader roadmap.

Cons

Getting everything set up the first time felt overwhelming because there are so many features available and it took more work than expected to configure it the way we needed. Some team members also ran into slow loading times on larger projects, particularly when there were a lot of subtasks involved. Onboarding could definitely be simpler for colleagues who are less comfortable with tech which would likely improve adoption across all roles.

best for team collaboration

Pros

Using it has not been a hassle and working with team members in it is also stress free. Also it helps us keep everything well organized by client and by project type which makes managing work much easier.

Cons

It looks like there's a growing emphasis on AI tools and most of those come as paid add-ons. Because of that some of the core features can start to feel overlooked or harder to notice.

Pros

Having my tasks, projects and notes all in one place is the biggest advantage for me. It keeps everything organized, saves me time and makes collaborating with others and tracking progress much more manageable.

Cons

The part I like least is that it can be a bit overwhelming at the beginning because there are so many features and settings to sort through.

Dashboards are my fav

Pros

Across our real estate business ClickUp has played a big role in improving work management and giving us better operational visibility. One of the strongest benefits has been the reporting and dashboard features which let us keep a close eye on important metrics like sales pipeline, project completion rates, team productivity and overall business performance. It has also given us a centralized digital workspace that made data management much simpler by bringing property listings, contracts, client communication and supporting documents together in one place so finding information is much easier. The workflow visualization options, including Kanban boards, Gantt charts and calendar views, help us organize sales activities, run marketing campaigns, track deadlines and keep priorities visible for the whole team. Collaboration is also more efficient thanks to built-in tools like Docs, whiteboards, task comments and real time chat which make it easier for business teams, agents and brokers to coordinate without losing context between conversations and deliverables.

Cons

There have not been many major issues overall but one area that needs more attention for our business is security governance. The platform's security controls look good on paper, yet because we handle sensitive information such as property documents, financial records and client identification data, we needed stronger protections to match our data handling standards. As a result we had to strengthen permission structures and tighten access management practices by bringing in additional security tools.

Task tracking dashboards worked well

Pros

ClickUp has become my go to for managing projects and keeping track of tasks. The task management tools are excellent as I can assign work, set deadlines and share updates without any hassle. The dashboards are also really useful when I need a quick snapshot of overall progress.

Cons

Because it offers so many features, it can feel a bit complex in the beginning and takes some time to get used to. Aside from that it has been very helpful.

Project hub is top notch

Pros

Having so many features in one place makes this platform really flexible. It's been useful for handling tasks, projects and team collaboration without jumping between different tools. The customization options are especially helpful and make it easier to set things up the way the team needs.

Cons

With so many features packed into it, the platform can be confusing for new users until they spend some time learning where everything is.

timelines are fantastic

Pros

It is very easy to use and it makes handling tasks and collaborating on projects with a team a simple task. Organizing tasks and keeping track of timelines is also very simple.

Cons

There are a lot of customization options which can feel a bit overwhelming for someone new at first but once you get familiar with it, everything works very well.

delivered everything well

Pros

I could manage tasks, docs and dashboards without jumping between a bunch of separate apps. It's also highly customizable so we were able to set it up in a way that actually matches how my team works. For project management and automation, I'd definitely say it's an excellent tool.

Cons

The toughest part was getting up to speed with everything. There are so many features that it felt pretty overwhelming at the beginning and it took some time to figure out the setup that worked best. It can also be a bit slow now and then especially when I am adding a lot of tasks quickly and have to wait a moment for it to load. Compared with Asana, it still szeems more user friendly but there's definitely a learning curve to the system.

transformed our workflow

Pros

Actually I like how deeply customizable it is and how well it brings scattered workflows into one place. The Everything View has completely changed the way we handle cross-functional projects, giving leadership clear high-level visibility while still letting teams manage detailed tasks. Native docs, custom statuses and the strong automation tools have cut down our need for extra platforms in a big way so it now works as a true single source of truth for our operations.

Cons

Because the platform includes such a large set of features, getting started can feel overwhelming for non-technical team members and takes deliberate onboarding. On top of that when we're working in very complex spaces with lots of custom fields and automations, there are occasional minor slowdowns during real time updates. That said frequent feature releases and ongoing optimization updates make it clear the team is actively improving scalability.

Useful features

Pros

Getting started was simple and the setup didn't take much effort. It includes amazing features for the price plan and the desktop app is especially convenient to use.

Cons

The mobile app isn't nearly as useful as the desktop version. Also, if you want access to all the features, you have to move to a higher-priced plan which feels more expensive for almost the same functionality.

had a learning curve

Pros

ClickUp's biggest advantage is how flexible it is. It goes far beyond the complicated setup of traditional project management tools, letting teams customize their experience with different views, from clean Kanban boards to more detailed Gantt charts, without making the interface feel cluttered. Being able to keep tasks, documents and goals together in one connected system reduces digital friction and noticeably improves daily productivity. It ends up feeling more like a complete digital workspace than just another tool.

Cons

That said all of that power comes with a fairly steep learning curve. Getting everything set up at the beginning can feel a bit overwhelming especially for new team members. The pricing also takes some careful consideration. The lower-tier plans are reasonably accessible but if you need more advanced features like complex automations or resource management, you have to move up to the more expensive tiers and that can get costly fairly quickly for a growing team.

Workflows adapted well for our teams

Pros

One of the best parts of ClickUp is how adaptable it is. I can set up and customize workflows exactly the way I want and the collaboration tools really help my team and me stay organized and on the same page.

Cons

Because there are so many features, options and settings, it takes a while to fully learn how everything works. I have also noticed some slight lag at times when managing larger projects.
