ClickUp feels like the most complete and budget-friendly workspace you could ask for. It brings together Tasks, Docs, Chat, Goals and pretty much everything else in one place so there's no need to juggle a bunch of separate apps anymore. Also, it's free which makes it even more impressive. While other tools charge more and still offer less, ClickUp gives you a full-featured platform without costing anything.

Cons

Like most new software, it takes a bit of time to get comfortable with the interface and work through the learning curve before you can fully take advantage of all the features. Still, the time you put in upfront ends up paying off later by saving you a lot of hours in the long run.

There are still a few bugs I don't care for and at times the platform can be slow to load. That said, I have noticed it has improved over time.

Learning it does take some time because there's definitely a learning curve. The onboarding helps and the core features are simple enough to pick up but the sheer number of options, views, widgets, apps and customization settings can feel overwhelming. Just understanding everything the platform is capable of is a big job.

This tool really shines for me with its subtasks feature which I use to plan, manage and organize collaborative projects where several team members are working on the same job and trying to hit multiple milestones at once. The customizable notifications are also a big plus because they improve communication between project leads and the rest of the team and I also rely on the reminders, goals, calendars and inbox for keeping projects on track.

It can feel overly complicated at the beginning since there are so many settings to sort through. That also makes team onboarding harder because each person has to spend time learning how to get past the complexity of setting up and managing tasks.

Nearly everything our team relies on every day lives inside this software. We use it for time tracking, customer CRM organized and prioritized personal to-dos, team work management, quarterly goals, meeting notes, billing and more. Having all of that in one place is a huge plus because we don't have to bounce between multiple tools just to get our work done.

There's definitely a learning curve and some of the customizations we use aren't as user-friendly as I'd want them to be. Thankfully, one of our engineers has figured out a lot of it and created videos for the team but that's something really should already provide.

We appreciated how flexible it is, along with the ability to shape it around our own needs and vision. Ongoing app development and the steady rollout of new features were also definite positives.

The speed is the one issue that makes it completely useless for us. Lists and tables can take 20 seconds to load, opening an item takes another 10 seconds and switching a list view or moving between lists can add yet another 20 seconds. With delays like that, it ends up not being usable for much of anything. Complaints from the community about performance seem buried somewhere in the background of the community board. At this point, there's really nothing left to do but leave it.
