Pros
Our team loves how user friendly it is and how easy it is to navigate. I started working at my company in 2019 and have been using it ever since. I also know there are many other modules that I can learn.

Pros
I can't think of anything positive. The only reason I use Costpoint is because my employer requires it.

I feel like I am using a UI from 1995, and it's clear no thought went into the user experience or flow. It is not user-friendly and clunky, and the mobile app is even worse.

“Has some really cool features
Pros
I like the extensive number of fields available for entering data, the highly normalized database structure, and the project-based accounting. The ability to customize the product using built-in extensibility is great. I can integrate Costpoint with other products using the built-in Web Services tool and several data preprocessors.
Cons
Some aspects of the product are not really easy for me. Some processes can take a considerable amount of time to complete. Recent version upgrades have been buggy, sometimes introducing new bugs that were not present in previous versions. It can take a lot of time for bug fixes to be released.

“The user interface could use some work
Pros
I don't like it, but I am required to use it.
Cons
The user interface is complicated. Despite having a PhD in machine learning, I find it hard to navigate the plurality of tables and fields. The system displays "unfillable" forms, for instance, for a certain configuration, there's no "Charge Type" possible, yet I can't submit the form without it. It doesn't save drafts despite pressing save, so I have lost all the records I've added.

“Once you get the hang of it, Deltek is a breeze
Pros
My only interaction with Deltek Costpoint is using its timesheet feature to enter my hours after work every day. Logging in all my data is very simple. The application also gives you access to your pay stub and lets you know how much vacation time or paid time off you have remaining. Its wonderful that they are all together now because my company used to have separate systems for them previously.
Cons
At first, I had trouble getting used to the way Costpoint works because all the features I needed to enter my time data were ‘hidden’ behind menus. I still find it difficult but it turns out it’s how my company set it up. Also, I cannot find the PTO history.

“Awesome ERP for growing businesses
Pros
With the help of an ERP solution, I can simplify a challenging process. I can automate departments, project budgeting, and forecasting to boost profitability. Costpoint provides a single, comprehensive solution, making HR procedures easy from enrollment through recruitment. Its strong web service design makes integration simple, allowing me to easily deploy and use Deltek software in any production setup.

Pros
I really like that it can accurately record and track billable hours. It makes it easy to tag billed hours to the right budget/funding codes. I can see approval logs and edit mistakes.

“Sharing my thoughts on Costpoint
Pros
I find Costpoint to be the most effective and comprehensive government cost accounting system available. It contains many related back-office functions integrated within the system and is government-approved.
Cons
I think the user interface needs improvement for non-finance and non-accounting users. It should be easier to use for basic functions such as daily timesheets, expense reports, and approvals of these items.

“Feels clunky
Pros
The system can do almost anything I want in terms of setup. There are more options and specifications than any one company could ever need or want.
Cons
Since the system is so customizable from an admin side, it becomes very cumbersome for me. A single update needs to be made on multiple screens for it to show up everywhere and be accessible to everyone. The user interface is complicated for everyday users, and troubleshooting issues is difficult and time-consuming due to all the areas where there could be an issue.

“Its a good option
Pros
I Love the calendar display; it is easy to add a new line for additional hours billed and keep track of all hours. Navigating the branching time charge is also easy. Some companies have very complicated branching systems, making it difficult to locate the correct time charge to add.
Cons
I think it would be helpful if time off, holidays, and sick leave could be displayed from the main timesheet. It would make it a one-stop location to have all the information in one place instead of opening other tabs to locate balances.

“Not a big fan of this program
Pros
Once I have my credentials, I can access it from any computer. It's easy to track my hours worked and see if they were approved or not. The feature showing used/unused leave balance is really helpful.
Cons
If I am not assigned to a project for a while, the whole access needs to be reset by HR, which is completely unnecessary. It's annoying that every time I put in my hours worked, I have to save the changes; otherwise, if I sign out and sign back in from another device, I have to start all over. If HR has not uploaded the correct project code, I can't put any hours in at all. If I need to make changes to the hours worked, it's a hassle because it throws error messages all over.

Pros
What do I like most? My gosh - literally NOTHING. I've used multiple other timekeeping systems, and this is BY FAR the worst system I have ever seen and used!
Cons
Where to begin... Usability is complete garbage with absolutely ZERO thought for the standard employee user. I've never seen such poorly designed software. If you get an expert programmer to set it up for you, put in ONE charge code, and do the SAME thing every day, you'll be fine.

“COSTPOINT IS PRETTY AWESOME
Pros
Their interfaces can communicate with each other and the ease of use when using the software. It is straightforward, and if you have used various SAP systems before, you should not have an issue with this one. I transitioned from the US Army using GCSS-Army, and the interfaces in Costpoint were virtually the same.
Cons
I like the software, but my company does not want to pay for all the modules needed, so I feel as though I cannot use Costpoint to its full potential. I hope after this conference, I can go back to my company's president and change his mind.

Pros
I really liked the reporting feature, especially the Cognos relationship and the ability to export directly to Excel as well as upload from Excel.
Cons
The revenue to income statement process is confusing to me. I have never worked with an accounting system where once I create and post an invoice, the total revenue for that product on the income statement is different from what was billed.
